GUDE Quick Start Guide: Commissioning and Configuration

This guide provides essential steps for quickly setting up and configuring your GUDE IP-based devices. All GUDE devices are developed and manufactured in Germany, ensuring high quality for reliable AV and IT infrastructure.

1. Connect to the Power Supply

Connect your device to the mains power using the provided connector and a suitable socket (e.g., power plug, power cord, or power supply unit). The status LED will initially shine constantly red.

2. Connect to the TCP/IP Network

Connect your device to your network by plugging an Ethernet cable into the network connector. The device will automatically search for a DHCP server to request an IP address. Check your network's DHCP server settings to identify the assigned IP address. For consistent access, ensure the same IP address is assigned on each restart. Upon successful connection, the status LED will briefly flash orange and then turn permanently green, indicating the unit is connected and ready for operation.

3. Set Up and Use Functions

The web interface serves as the central control panel for your device. You can access it from any PC within the same TCP/IP network.

Accessing the Web Interface

To access the web interface:

Through the web interface, you can:

Using the GBL_Conf Program

If the unit cannot be found at the specified IP address, use the GBL_Conf configuration program. This program allows you to:

Note on Fig. 1 (Web Interface): The web interface displays controls for power ports (on/off, wait, reset, batch, close, all on/off) and operational status. It also provides real-time measurements including Voltage, Current, Frequency, Power, Residual Current, Energy, Temperature, Humidity, Dew Point, and Pressure.

4. Set Up and Use Functions with the Configuration Program

Download the latest version of the GBL_Conf program from gude-systems.com/en/general-support. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

After successful installation:

Note on Fig. 2 (GBL_Conf Program): The GBL_Conf program lists detected GUDE devices and their basic information. Selecting a device reveals its network configuration details, such as MAC Address, Netmask, IP Address, and Gateway.

5. Firmware Updates

It is recommended to always run the latest firmware on your GUDE unit. Firmware updates are available for download on the website gude-systems.com/en/general-support. For detailed installation instructions, please refer to the device's user manual.
