DocumentDocumentOneRemote Type 30017713 HDMI ARC converter for Bang & Olufsen Speakers For use with Bang & Olufsen Speakers only Installation Guide 3001.7713.U1.UK With the OneRemote HDMI to Powerlink converter type 30017713, Bang & Olufsen speakers may be connected to any Smart-TV. *1 Connected speakers automatically powers on and off with the TV, and the volume is controlled with the Smart-TV's own remote control. This guide shows how to connect the plug & play converter. *1 Any SMART-TV has one dedicated HDMI socket, named ARC. But for many years this has also been the case for many other TVs. HDMI sockets sub-named ARC include sound output. www.oneremote.dk 2 INSTALLATION 1. Connect the OneRemote type 30017713 converter to the HDMI ARC port on the TV. Only one of the HDMI ports of a TV normally has the ARC functionality. The supplied HDMI cable may be used. 2. Connect the `5VDC' USB input on 30017713 to the USB port on the TV, using the supplied USB-cable. When the TV is powered on, this will supply the 30017713 with power and reset the sound control, every time the TV is powered off. 3. Connect the output of the converter 30017713 to a set of Bang & Olufsen speakers, using a Powerlink cable. Powerlink cables are not included. Use the appropriate cables and adaptors, depending on the speakers. Some Bang & Olufsen speakers make use DIN connectors, others RJ45 connectors. Some Bang & Olufsen speakers may be connected in daisy chain, others need separate cables for each speaker. If in doubt, ask your dealer or oneremote.dk. 4. Make sure that HDMI CEC is enabled in the TVs settings, to be able to control the volume with your TV remote. CEC is named differently by the TV brands. CEC is the real name for control data that flows from the TV via the HDMI cable to the 30017713 controllers. This data makes the 30017713 controllers able to power on the Bang & Olufsen speaker and set the volume level. 5. Problems with volume turned up or down when TV is turned on. The two holes on the front of 30017713 gives access to two volume controls. One for the left channel and one for the right channel. Some TVs has a higher audio output on the HDMI and some has a lower output. That is why we added the two controls. Over time we have delivered the 30017713 with two DIFFERENT types of potentiometers. One type is regulated with a 2mm screwdriver, and the other type is regulated with a HEX 1.4mm screwdriver. www.oneremote.dk 3 DAILY USE As the HDMI CEC have been enabled in the TVs settings during installation, there is no daily use to perform. The 30017713 converter status lights: PWR LED Lights red when the 30017713 converters is being powered from the TV through the USB cable. 5.1 LED Lights red at PCM or no audio. Blinking red at Dolby 5.1ch decoding. Blinking green at DTS 5.1ch decoding. The 30017713 converts multi-channel audio formats (e.g. Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1) into a stereo audio signal.
