About the CD

The included CD contains all necessary software drivers and the user manual for the DWA-123 Wireless N 150 USB Adapter. These resources can also be obtained from the D-Link website.

Setup Wizard

1. Insert CD: Place the CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. The setup wizard should launch automatically. Ensure your internet connection is active. Do not connect the DWA-123 adapter yet.
2. Run Wizard: Select your preferred language from the list provided in the wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup of your DWA-123 adapter.

Setup and Configuration Problems

1. Lost CD?

If you have lost the CD, software drivers and the manual can be downloaded from the D-Link website. For most systems (Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8), the correct drivers will install automatically.

2. Forgotten Wireless Encryption Key?

The wireless encryption key is configured on your Wireless Access Point, Router, or DSL Modem Router. If you cannot retrieve your key, the only solution is to reconfigure your Access Point/Router to use a new encryption key. Please contact your wireless device manufacturer for assistance.

3. Cannot Get a Wireless Connection?

• Ensure the DWA-123 is properly plugged into the USB port. Try a different USB port if available.
• The LED on the DWA-123 should be lit. If it is not, there might be a physical fault with the USB port or the driver may not be installed correctly.
• Ensure that the wireless settings on the DWA-123 match the settings on your Access Point/Router. Please check and confirm your settings for:
  • Wireless Network Name (SSID)
  • Wireless Encryption Key
  • Wireless Security Method (e.g., WEP, WPA2)
• To check the wireless connection status, look at the Windows System Tray (bottom right corner). A red indicator signifies that no valid connection has been made.
• Confirm that your internet connection is working correctly on other computers.
• Ensure you have followed and completed the software installation process. If the connection still fails, please re-install the software. The LED on the DWA-123 should illuminate after successful software installation.

Safety and Usage Rules

• Read this section carefully before installation and connection. Ensure the device has no mechanical damage. Use only for its intended purpose as described in this guide.
• The device is intended for use in dry, clean, dust-free, and well-ventilated indoor environments, away from strong heat sources. Do not use outdoors or in areas with high humidity. Ambient temperature should be between 0 and +40 °C.
• Ensure the power supply meets the device's specifications.
• Do not open the device casing. Remove dust with a damp cloth. Avoid liquid/aerosol cleaners or magnetic/static devices. Prevent moisture from entering the device.
• Service life: 2 years.
• Warranty period: One year from the date of purchase from an authorized dealer in Russia and CIS countries. The warranty period cannot exceed 2 years from the manufacturing date, determined by the serial number (year: 9=2009, A=2010, etc.; month: 1=Jan, 2=Feb, etc.).
