Moultrie Mobile EDGE Cellular Trail Camera

Your essential guide to setting up and using the Moultrie Mobile EDGE Cellular Trail Camera.

Before You Begin

Download the Moultrie Mobile app to set up your camera, remotely control settings, and view your pictures and videos. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

To get started, you will need:

  • The Moultrie Mobile App
  • The EDGE Camera
  • 8 or 16 AA Batteries (Note: This camera has built-in memory; no SD card is needed.)

Camera Setup

See How It's Done: Scan the QR code to watch a video of the camera overview and step-by-step instructions for camera setup. For assistance, call Customer Success at 1-844-908-1219.

  1. Add Camera to Account: Download the Moultrie Mobile app, log in, or sign up. For existing accounts, navigate to DEVICES > ACTIVATE. Scan the QR code inside the control panel door and select a plan.
  2. Install Batteries: Press EJECT to release the battery tray. Fill with 8 or 16 AA batteries (minimum of 8 required). If using only 8, fill one side completely. Use recommended batteries like Moultrie Alkaline or Energizer Alkaline/Lithium. Do not mix old and new batteries or use rechargeable batteries.
  3. Turn On Your Camera: Slide the power switch to ON. All LEDs will light up, and the camera will connect. Connecting status is indicated by a flashing yellow light, connected by a solid green light, and not connected by a solid red light. Camera activation and connection should take 5 minutes or less. If not connected, move the camera to an area with a stronger signal. All lights will turn off once the connection is complete.
  4. Test Your Camera: Once connected, press the CONNECT button to trigger a test photo. The battery LED will flash once for an image or stay lit for a video when motion is detected. In the app, go to GALLERY and pull down to refresh to see your photo.

Camera Placement Tips

  1. Clear vegetation and tree limbs in the field of view to reduce false triggers.
  2. Mount the camera to a tree or pole approximately three to five feet from the ground.
  3. Face the camera North or South to avoid over-exposure from the sun.
  4. When scouting a game trail, angle the camera at a 45-degree angle to the trail for optimal triggering.

Troubleshooting

Camera Won't Connect

  • Ensure the camera has an active subscription with Moultrie Mobile.
  • Move the camera to a location with a stronger signal.

Comparing to Cell Phone Signal

Your camera's signal strength may differ from your smartphone's. The EDGE automatically connects to the strongest network in your area.

Managing Images / Memory

View and manage all pictures and downloads in the Moultrie Mobile app, even if cleared from the camera's memory. PRO TIP: Request hi-res images and full video clips promptly to avoid deletion during onboard memory clean-up.
