This document provides important safety information and usage guidelines for the Philips BRT383 body groomer.
Important Safety Information
Please read this information carefully before using the product, its batteries, and accessories. Save it for future reference. Misuse can lead to hazards or serious injuries. Accessories supplied may vary for different products.
Warning
- This appliance is suitable for cleaning under the tap (see Figure 1).
- Ensure the battery compartment is properly closed before bringing the appliance into contact with water.
- Never immerse the appliance in water. Do not use the appliance in the bath or shower.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or instructed on safe use and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be done by children without supervision.
- Use the appliance only to trim hair on areas below the neck (except the inner labia).
- Do not use a damaged appliance. Replace damaged parts with new Philips parts.
- For hygiene reasons, the appliance should only be used by one person.
- To prevent damage or injury, keep the operating appliance away from scalp hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, clothes, etc.
- Clean the appliance only with cold or lukewarm water.
- Never use compressed air, scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents, or aggressive liquids to clean the appliance.
- Only use original Philips accessories or consumables.
- Operate this product only on disposable 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries.
- Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Keep the product and batteries away from fire and do not expose them to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
- If the product becomes abnormally hot, smelly, or changes color, stop using it and contact Philips.
- Do not place products and their batteries in microwave ovens or on induction cookers.
- Do not modify, pierce, damage, or dismantle the product or battery to prevent overheating or release of toxic/hazardous substances. Do not short-circuit, overcharge, or reverse charge batteries.
- If batteries are damaged or leaking, avoid contact with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, rinse immediately with water and seek medical attention.
- When handling batteries, ensure your hands, the product, and the batteries are dry.
- Insert batteries with the positive (+) and negative (-) poles pointing in the indicated direction in the battery compartment or holder.
- Do not mix different brands and types of batteries, new and used batteries, or batteries with different date codes.
- Remove batteries from the product if it will not be used for some time.
- To avoid accidental short-circuiting of batteries after removal, do not let battery terminals touch metal objects (e.g., coins, hairpins, rings). Do not wrap batteries in aluminum foil. Tape battery terminals or place batteries in a plastic bag before discarding them.
- Do not leave empty disposable batteries inside the product.

Recycling

Removal of Disposable Batteries
Remove disposable batteries from the product when they are empty and when you discard the product. Refer to the user manual for instructions on placing and/or removing batteries. Take necessary safety precautions when disposing of batteries.
