DocumentDocumentWire Your Switch 1 Turn off the circuit breaker. Then remove the old wallplate of the wall switch and label the wires. 3 Connect the wires to the smart switch as shown below. 4 Line up the switch with the mounting holes. Secure it with screws. Ground: Usually green or copper. Neutral: Usually white, not connected to the dumb switch. Line/Load: Usually black, and connected to the dumb switch. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician. 2 Disconnect wires from the old switch. Note: No need to distinguish between Line and Load wires. 5 Attach the wallplate. Then the wiring is finished. Set Up Your Switch STEP 1 DOWNLOAD APP Get the Kasa Smart app from the App Store or Google Play. OR STEP 2 SET UP Tap the button in the app and select Smart Switches > Smart Switch HomeKit. Then follow the step-by-step app instructions to set up your smart switch. Appearance Reset On/Off Button LED Restart Button Explanations Reset Restart Press and hold for about 5s until the LED blinks amber and green to reset Wi-Fi while keeping other settings. Press and hold for about 10s until the LED blinks amber to restore to factory default settings. Press to restart your switch. LED Status Solid amber Starting up. White Light fixture is off. Want to Add Switch to Home? This is a HomeKit-enabled device. You can also add it to the Home app for easy control from your iPhone or iPad. Before You Start: 1. Your phone should be connected to a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with internet access. 2. HomeKit will be disabled 10 minutes after the switch is powered on. You can press the Restart button on your switch to restart and try again. Add to Home 1. Open the Home app. 2. Scan the HomeKit QR code in the package, or enter the PIN on the switch. Failed to Add to Home? Factory reset the switch, and restart your phone. Then try again.
