02 Overview of Solutions

This section details the solutions for various error codes, often referring back to specific components or troubleshooting steps.

02.A Schematic Representation (Printed Circuit Board and Wiring) of the DucoBox Energy

Diagrams illustrating the internal wiring and component layout for both the DucoBox Energy Comfort (Plus) and DucoBox Energy Premium models are provided.

DucoBox Energy Comfort (Plus) Wiring Diagram:

The diagram shows connections for FAN 1, FAN 2, power connector (PE, N, L), and control connectors (GND, 0-10V PWM, 10V, Tachymeter).

DucoBox Energy Premium Wiring Diagram:

Similar to the Comfort (Plus) model, this diagram illustrates the connections for FAN 1, FAN 2, power connector (PE, N, L), and control connectors (GND, 0-10V PWM, 10V, Tachymeter).

02.B Check and/or Replace the Fan

This section addresses error codes 1.4.1 and 28.4.1, which relate to fan issues.

Complementary Explanations: The confirmation signal from the fan is missing, or the fan cannot reach the required speed. The speed (rpm) can optionally be read via the Duco Network Tool.

Possible Causes:

  • Fan power or communication wires are not properly connected.
  • The fan motor is blocked or faulty.
  • The pressure sensor is damaged.
  • The mains voltage of the DucoBox is abnormal.
  • The DucoBox printed circuit board is damaged.
  • Air ducts to and from the DucoBox are blocked.
  • The fan or fan cable is physically damaged.

Instructions of Service (Error Codes 1.4.1 / 28.4.1):

A flowchart guides the user through checking fan connections, motor blockage, and rotation. If the error persists, replacement of the fan is recommended, with references to maintenance guides.

02.C Check and/or Replace the Temperature Sensor

This section covers error codes 3.1.1 to 3.1.6, 4.1.1 to 4.1.6, 6.1.1 to 6.1.6, and 30.1.1 to 30.1.6, all related to temperature sensors.

Complementary Explanations: The temperature sensor is not read correctly by the DucoBox, or the connection between the DucoBox and the temperature sensor is interrupted.

Possible Causes:

  • The temperature sensor is damaged.
  • The connection to the temperature sensor is interrupted.
  • The DucoBox Energy printed circuit board is damaged.

Instructions of Service (Error Codes 3.1.x / 4.1.x / 6.1.x / 30.1.x):

A troubleshooting process involves checking if temperature values can be read on the DucoBox screen, verifying the realism of the measured values, and checking the DucoBox configuration. Solutions include cleaning the sensor, replacing it, or contacting DUCO service.

A table provides temperature (°C) and resistance (Ohm) values for temperature sensors, useful for diagnostics.

02.D Check and/or Replace the Pressure Sensor

This section addresses error codes 16.1.1 to 16.1.6 and 29.1.1 to 29.1.6, related to pressure sensors.

Complementary Explanations: The ETA or SUP pressure sensor is not read correctly by the DucoBox, or the connection between the DucoBox and the pressure sensor is interrupted.

Possible Causes:

  • Air leaks in and around the DucoBox (e.g., negligent installation of the front panel).
  • The pressure sensor was not correctly installed in the housing.
  • The connection to the pressure sensor is interrupted.
  • An air duct to or from the DucoBox is blocked.
  • The pressure sensor is damaged or dirty.
  • The DucoBox Energy printed circuit board is damaged.

Instructions of Service (Error Codes 16.1.x / 29.1.x):

Troubleshooting involves checking if pressure values can be read, performing calibration, and verifying stable operation. Solutions include checking connections, replacing the sensor, or contacting DUCO service.

02.E Check and/or Replace the Control Unit/Wall Sensor

This section covers error codes 37.17.1 to 37.17.3 and 40.17.1 to 40.17.3, related to control units and wall sensors.

Complementary Explanations: The measured value of the wall sensor is too high, too low, or cannot be read correctly by the DucoBox, via the Duco Network Tool, or via the Duco Installation App.

Possible Causes:

  • The wall sensor is damaged.
  • The (wired) connection between the DucoBox and the wall sensor is interrupted.
  • The wall sensor is outside the RF range of the DucoBox.
  • The wall sensor is exposed to direct sunlight.

Instructions of Service (Error Codes 37.17.x / 40.17.x):

Troubleshooting includes checking if the sensor is wired, measuring voltage, checking communication wiring, and performing a power cycle. Solutions involve checking connections, replacing the sensor, or ensuring proper RF signal strength.

02.F Check and/or Replace the Printed Circuit Board

This section addresses situations where the screen does not start and/or no LED indicator is lit on the DucoBox printed circuit board.

Complementary Explanations: The screen does not start and/or no LED indicator is lit on the DucoBox printed circuit board.

Possible Causes:

  • Poor connection of the power cables to the DucoBox printed circuit board.
  • The screen is damaged.
  • There is no mains voltage on the DucoBox Energy.
  • The DucoBox Energy printed circuit board is damaged.

Instructions of Service:

The troubleshooting process involves checking if the DucoBox is powered by the mains, if the printed circuit board responds to manual actions, and verifying power supply connections. Solutions include checking fuses, reconnecting power cables, replacing the screen, or replacing the printed circuit board.

Wiring Diagrams

Detailed wiring diagrams are provided for both the DucoBox Energy Comfort (Plus) and DucoBox Energy Premium models, illustrating the connections of various components.
