HOW A DEHUMIDIFIER WORKS
When switched ON, a fan pulls moisture-laden air into the unit. Air passes through dehumidifying coils, which condense moisture collected in the water tank. Dry air is then exhausted into the room as warm air.
IMPORTANT: The dehumidifier operates best between 41°F (5°C) and 89°F (32°C). Performance may be reduced outside this range.
SELECTING A LOCATION - IMPORTANT
- Before use, place the unit UPRIGHT for at least 4 hours to allow refrigerant to stabilize if transported tilted.
- For optimal efficiency, operate in an enclosed area. Keep doors and windows closed.
SELECTING A LOCATION - IMPORTANT (CONTINUED)
- Place the dehumidifier where the temperature will not drop below 41°F (5°C).
- Place the dehumidifier at least 17.7 inches (45 cm) away from objects (e.g., curtains, furniture) that may restrict airflow from the back or vents.
- The dehumidifier must be positioned on a level floor.
Diagram: Shows a dehumidifier with arrows indicating 17.7 inches (45 cm) clearance on the left and right sides.
IMPORTANT: Dehumidifier effectiveness depends on factors like air intake rate and circulation. For example, a frequently opened basement door increases dehumidification time. In rooms with closets, ensure adequate air circulation to dehumidify them; open doors as needed. Larger areas may require a second dehumidifier.
UNPACKAGING THE DEHUMIDIFIER
- The dehumidifier is secured with tape during transport. Remove all packaging tape.
- 1. Gently pull the water tank out.
- 2. Remove the splash guard from the top of the water tank.
- 3. Take out the power plug, drain hose, and other accessories from inside the tank.
