Before You Start
Some Klipsch speakers require installation of feet or other accessories before use. Refer to Diagrams 1, 2, 3, and 4 for installation guidance.
Diagram 1: Monitor Wall Mount
Features rubber and felt bumpers. Mounting can be done via keyhole or threaded insert.
Diagram 2: Center Channels
Illustrates placement options for center channel speakers, either above or below the screen.
Diagram 3: Surround Speakers
Shows typical placement for surround speakers.
Diagram 4: Wall Mounting
Details wall mounting options, emphasizing the use of #10 2.5"-3" panhead wood screws into wall studs or anchors, leaving 1/4" exposed. A caution is noted against using the keyhole for ceiling mounting. Threaded inserts require 3/8-16 x 0.5" screws. Wall brackets are not included.
Room Placement
Left and Right Main Channel Speakers: For optimal performance, place speakers 6 to 15 feet (1.8 to 4.6m) apart. Slight toe-in can improve stereo imaging. The listening position should be approximately 1 to 1.5 times the distance between the speakers. Refer to Figures 1 and 3.
Center Channel Speakers: Position these speakers as close to the screen as possible, either directly on top of or below the screen, to ensure dialogue and primary sounds appear to originate from the video screen. Refer to Figures 1, 2, and 3.
Rear Surround Channel Speakers: Klipsch WDST surround speakers should be placed approximately 2 feet above the listening position, typically 5-7 feet above the floor. Placement on the walls adjacent to the listening position or behind the listening position is recommended. Final placement depends on room characteristics to recreate spatial ambience. Refer to Figures 1, 3, and 4.
Connection
Conventional Connection: Use 16-12 gauge speaker wire. Connect the RED (+) terminal of the LEFT speaker to the RED (+) terminal of the amplifier's LEFT channel. Connect the BLACK (-) terminal of the LEFT speaker to the BLACK (-) terminal of the amplifier's LEFT channel. Repeat for all speakers. Ensure no bare wires touch other terminals to prevent shorts.
Reference Premiere Models (RP-8060FA, RP-8000F, RP-6000F, RP-5000F, RP-4000F, RP-160M): These models feature dual binding posts. For single-wire connections, keep the terminal connecting bar in place. For Bi-wire or Bi-amp connections, remove the bar. Consult your receiver's manual for details.
Amplifier Requirements: Klipsch speakers are highly efficient and compatible with most amplifiers. They are 8-ohm compatible and deliver high output with low distortion. Use caution with the volume control to prevent hearing damage. Overdriving the amplifier may damage speakers. Ensure your amplifier is suitable for your application.
