The MLC Press-Fit pipe: 5 layers - built for the future

With our 5-layer composite pipe, Uponor has developed a product with a future, which combines the benefits of both metal and plastic pipes. Product benefits are obtained that cannot be surpassed: The inner aluminium layer provides a 100% oxygen-proof barrier. It compensates for the snap-back forces and the linear expansion caused by temperature changes. The basis of the system is simple, safe, and fast pipe installation: simply bend by hand, cut to length, bevel, join together, press - done!

The Uponor MLC Press-Fit pipe consists of a longitudinal safety overlap welded aluminium pipe, to which an inner and outer layer of high-temperature resistant polyethylene is applied (in accordance with DIN 16833). All layers are permanently bonded together by means of an intermediate adhesive layer. A special welding technique guarantees a maximum of safety. The thickness of the aluminium selected for the Uponor MLC Press-Fit pipe is exactly adapted to the compressive strength requirements as well as the bending capability, confident that you're installing tried and tested, certified quality. Our system technology is safe and long-lasting, certified by numerous tests and licenses.

The best installation: The Uponor MLC Press-Fit pipe for tap water installation and radiator connection can also be ordered pre-insulated (up to 25mm). An assortment is available in sizes from 16-110 mm. The pre-insulated pipes save installation time because the time-intensive insulation of the mounted pipes and the resulting gluing of joints are eliminated.

MLC Composite: The economy version of our Standard Fitting

During installation, the MLC Press-Fit Pipe is pushed between the supporting sleeve and stainless steel press sleeve, and a force-closed connection is made with the MLC Composite fitting. Pressed into the inner plastic layer of the pipe, the special profile of the PPSU insert produces a reliable connection. A high-temperature and age-resistant O-ring fitted into a groove provides sealing between the insert part and the inner wall of the pipe.

After installation, the form-stable press sleeve allows the connection to absorb bending forces without developing leaks. This allows a pipe that has already been installed to be realigned after installation (up until the pressure test).

Made of tin-plated brass with stainless steel sleeve. For connection of MLC to RS2/RS3 Bodies.

Note: Pressing tool UP75 must be used for pressing all Modular Press Adapters.

Manifolds, Adapters & Accessories

Uponor NV Manifold

The Uponor NV Manifold includes chrome-plated flow and return headers pre-mounted on nickel-plated brackets with fill & drain points. Primary connections are 1" BSP and outlet on nickel-plated connections are 3/4" Eurocone. Designed for use in Radiator systems.

Note: Eurocone compression adapters are supplied separately.

Manifold L

Supplied as a single manifold. Made of plated brass, 3/4" or 1" MT x FT connections with 1/2" or 3/4" MT outlets. Valves allow each circuit to be isolated. Delivered with loop labelling discs. Order adapters separately for connection to Uponor pipe (MLC/PEX). Manifolds can be joined to make the required number of ports.

Manifold P

Supplied as a single manifold. Made of plated brass, with 1"MT x 1"FT with 1/2"MT outlets. Order adapters separately for connection to Uponor pipe (MLC/PEX). Manifolds can be joined to make the required number of ports.

Manifold L bracket

Supplied as a single bracket. Holds manifolds in place at a vertical distance of 220mm apart.

LS Manifold

The Uponor LS Manifold includes lock shield valves on the flow manifold for balancing the system. The manifold includes chrome-plated flow and return headers pre-mounted on nickel-plated brackets with fill & drain points. Primary connections are 1" BSP and outlet connections are 3/4" Eurocone. Designed for use in Radiator systems.

Note: Thermal actuators & Eurocone compression adapters are supplied separately.

Manifold L ball valve (3/4")

Supplied as a single valve. Made of plated brass. Used to isolate the whole manifold assembly.

Manifold L end cap (with sealing washer)

Made of plated brass.

Manifold L end plug

Made of plated brass, with sealing O-Ring.

Manifold P bracket

Supplied as a single bracket. Made of galvanized steel, for the sound absorbing installation of Manifold P.

Manifold P cap (with sealing washer)

Made of plated brass, for use with Manifold P.

Manifold Connection Fitting with Thermometer and Airvent

For connection to LS/TM Manifold. Can be fitted to left or right hand side of manifold.

Automatic Manifold By-Pass

Preset to 0.25 bar. For connection between flow and return manifold (TM/LS). Complete with isolation valve for filling purposes.

Eurocone compression adapters (MLC)

Made of plated brass 3/4"FT Eurocone thread for connection to 3/4"MT manifolds outlets NV/LS/TM/L.

BSP compression adapters (MLC)

Made of plated brass. For use with Manifold L/P.

Robust press radiator connection elbow with 15mm plated or copper spigot (for compression jointing only).

Press connection tee

Robust press radiator connection tee with 15mm bent plated copper spigot (for compression jointing only).

Danfoss connection set

Made of plated brass, male-threaded pressure screw. With insert part and clamp ring, with blue O-ring, suitable for use with female-threaded Danfoss radiator valves.

Wall plate elbow

Made of plated brass, with fixed press sleeve and smart end flange. XL denotes extended length body.

Snap ring

Clip-on snap ring made of Polypropylene, available in white only.

Press Tap U Elbow

Manthorpe Radiator Pipe Guide and Seal

For use with 12mm MLC and PEX as a seal when exiting the wall behind radiators.

Compression adapter (MLC)

For adaption of MLC to other compression fitting bodies. Note, threads must be checked.

MLC/copper adapter fittings

Press sleeve and brass spigot for connecting MLC to copper compression fittings (brass spigot is not suitable for solder connections).

NB. A suitable copper olive must be used.

Press Lever Ball Valve

Fully assembled and sealed lever valve c/w press adapters to MLC.

Sound Protection Set

For sound insulation of a pair of smart end elbows. Contains shroud, baffle, insert pin and screw.

Mounting Plate

For use with smart end wall elbows. Designed for on-wall mounting. Allows tap connections with 75mm or 150mm spacings. Supplied with 2 insert pins and screws per plate.

Mounting Angle

For use with smart end wall elbows. Designed for in-wall mounting and flush finish. Allows tap connections with 75mm or 150mm spacing. Supplied with 2 inserts pins and screws per angle.

Insert Pins and Screws for Mounting Track

For attachment of smart end wall elbows to mounting plate/angle/track. Set contains 10 insert pins and 10 screws.

Mounting Track
