DocumentDocumentProduct Instruction Manual Aztec AZ2000 PTC Workshop Fan Heater This product is only suitable for well insulated spaces or occasional use. v24.8.1 Overview Thank you for purchasing an Aztec PTC Workshop Fan Heater. It will provide a portable heating solution in a workshop or garage environment. Please read and follow these instructions to ensure that installation and operation are as simple and safe as possible. Important Safety Points Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the appliance. Do not carry the appliance by the power cord. The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance should be scrapped. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch the appliance on/ off provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate, clean the appliance or perform user maintenance. Some parts of this appliance can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the appliance. 2 Only use this appliance on a horizontal and stable surface. The appliance must be oriented standing upright with the control knobs on the top of the appliance. The appliance must not be located immediately below a socket outlet. Do not use this appliance with a programmer, timer, separate remote control system or any other device that switches the appliance on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the appliance is covered or positioned incorrectly. Do not use this appliance in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided. Do not use this appliance in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower or a swimming pool. This appliance is not designed for outdoor use or use in damp environments. Do not use the appliance on deep pile carpets or rugs; ensure that there is no overhanging surface within 75 cm of the outlet grille. To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains, or any other flammable material a minimum distance of 1 m from the air outlet. 3 1. Electrical Connection Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the appliance. The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the appliance should be scrapped. Avoid use of an extension cord, the extension cord may overheat and can increase the risk of fire. Only connect the appliance to an electrical supply that meets the specification detailed on the rating label. This appliance must be earthed. Do not use this appliance with a programmer, timer, separate remote - control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly. · This appliance is intended solely as a portable appliance; only operate using the power cord and 13 amp plug supplied. · If the plug needs changing, make connections as below; - Green/ yellow earth wire to terminal marked `E' or - Brown/ red live wire to the terminal marked `L' - Blue/ black neutral wire to the terminal marked `N' 4 2. Heat settings Thermostat dial · Choose from three heat settings: - Fan only (cool) - 1.0 kW (half power) - 2.0 kW (full power) 5 · Select the maximum heat setting from the thermostat dial. Once the desired room temperature is achieved adjust the dial down until a click is heard and the element light goes off. This will now maintain the current room temperature. Safety cut-out This appliance is fitted with a safety device which switches off the appliance if, for any reason it overheats. In the event of a safety cutout operation, the appliance will blow cold air until the temperature drops low enough for the thermal cutout to close. The cause of the overheating should be established before continuing to use the appliance. 3. Cleaning and Maintenance Isolate the appliance from the electrical supply and ensure the appliance has cooled down before performing any maintenance task. · Clean the body of the appliance with a slightly damp, soft cloth only. Do not use excessive amounts of water or abrasive chemicals. · Use a vacuum cleaner or soft brush periodically to ensure the air inlet and outlets remain clear of dust or other blockages. 4. Guarantee and Service Policy This product is covered by a standard parts or replacement warranty for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. If there is a manufacturing defect within the warranty period we will send spare parts, repair and return the unit or, at our discretion, supply a replacement product. Incorrect installation and failure to follow correct operating instructions are excluded. Consequential costs such as labour charges or damage to surroundings are expressly excluded. 6. Experience has shown that issues can often be resolved without the need to return or uninstall the product. INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU. At the end of its working life this equipment must not be disposed of as household waste. It must be taken to a local authority waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of electrical and electronic equipment separately enables its components to be recovered and recycled to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. In order to underline the duty to dispose of this equipment separately, the product is marked with a crossed out dustbin.
