3. General Procedure for Transferring the Password for Customer Internet
The process involves connecting an internet-enabled device to the refrigerator's Wi-Fi hotspot, transferring the network credentials, and then allowing the refrigerator to connect to the customer's internet.
Steps:
- An internet-enabled device (PC, laptop, or tablet) is used.
- By manually activating the Wi-Fi via the refrigerator's user interface, the device's SSID is broadcast, allowing other devices to detect the network and connect.
- The device recognizes the WLAN network and connects to it.
- After connecting, the refrigerator is provided with the customer's internet credentials (SSID and password).
- The refrigerator then connects to the customer's network.
- Through the customer's internet, data is transferred to the SmaMo Cloud.

5. Onboarding Steps in SmartMonitoring
After logging into https://smartmonitoring.liebherr.com with your registered Liebherr business account credentials, you can connect a new SmartModule device to SmartMonitoring.
SmartModule devices are from the Perfection series (SmartModule integrated ex-works) or the Performance series (SmartModule retrofittable).
- In the SmartMonitoring dashboard, click the "Connect New Device" button or go to "Settings" and then "Device Setup".
- You will enter the setup process. First, check if your device is compatible with SmartMonitoring and which networking solution is required (permanently installed or retrofittable). The serial number will be used to individualize the setup process for your device.
- Enter the 9-digit serial number of your device and click "Check" next to the input field.
- If everything worked, you will receive information that the device has been found, along with the model, serial, and item numbers. Click "Start Onboarding".
- Install SmartModule (not applicable for Perfection devices with built-in SmartModule): The first step explains how to insert the connectivity module, if necessary. On the back of the device, two screws must be loosened, and the connectivity module inserted as shown in the illustration. After inserting the module, click "Next".
- Select Connection Type: In the next step, you must choose whether to connect to the network via Wi-Fi or LAN. Select one of the tiles and click "Next".

Connecting via LAN
To establish the connection via LAN, connect your device using a LAN cable (Ethernet cable with RJ45 connector) to a network that has an internet connection. Ensure your device is allowed in the network if you use a MAC filter. You will see the connection status of the device in the next step. If the connection is successful as desired, proceed directly to the "Set Properties of the Connected Device" step.
Connecting via WLAN
In the next step, you need to activate the Wi-Fi functionality of your refrigerator or freezer. On the display of your refrigerator or freezer, navigate through the menu to "Settings" (1) and activate Wi-Fi using the "WLAN" button (2). Once Wi-Fi is activated, the icon will change accordingly (3). By activating this function, the device opens a WLAN Access Point, i.e., its own WLAN network, which you can connect to.
Additional Note: Refrigerator – Activate Wi-Fi
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Wi-Fi.
- Activate the Wi-Fi hotspot of your device. If it is active, you will see the displayed icon on the display.
