MAXHUB Digital Signage User Manual

1. Launcher

On the desktop, you can see four large widgets (including Media Player, MAXHUB Share, Finder, and Settings) as well as some small icons which are shortcuts into other features.

1.1 Shortcuts

Click [All Apps icon] and you can see all installed applications, including MAXHUB Pivot, Cloud Drive, Finder, Media Player, OTA, Screen Share host, and Settings.

1.1.2 Date & Time

At the top left corner of the desktop, the Date & Time is displayed.

Click the "Date & Time" shortcut and you will be redirected to the settings menu in the Date and Time section.

1.1.3 The Shortcut to Settings Menu

Click [Settings icon] to access the Settings Menu.

1.1.4 OSD

Click [OSD Settings icon] to view OSD Settings, here you can set the general parameters.

In "General", you can see Android and other channels, such as HDMI1, HDMI2 and VGA. Click different channel buttons to switch to the input source. Also you can set the backlight intensity.

Backlight intensity can be set from 0 to 100.

In "Audio", you can set parameters related to audio, such as volume, bass, treble and balance. This is where you can also mute the audio by switching to the "Mute Mode".

In "Screen", this section is not available for now.

In "Display", this section is not available for now.

2. Settings Menu

2.1 Wireless & Network

2.1.1 Ethernet

In Wireless & Network Settings, you can view and control the state of your network, and can also manually set your static IP configuration and proxy configuration.

2.1.2 WIFI

When you plug in the Wi-Fi module, there is a Wi-Fi option. And you can select a Wi-Fi network when the option is active.

Note: If this does not appear, please update firmware

Note: Either Ethernet or Hotspot can not be enabled while Wi-Fi is working

2.1.3 Hotspot

The use of the hotspot requires a connection to the Wi-Fi module.

Note that you cannot use the hotspot and Wi-Fi at the same time.

2.2 Personal

The personal section enables you to change the Wallpaper, Booting Logo, Booting Animation and Device orientation.

2.2.1 Wallpaper

In Wallpaper Settings, both static and dynamic wallpapers are supported. You can select the wallpaper you like to set to your desktop.

2.2.2 Booting Logo

The default booting logo is shown below.

Click "Modify Booting Logo", and you can modify the booting logo to your company's brand logo.

Note: Require picture JPG format, resolution 1920x1080

2.2.3 Booting Animation

Click the "Booting Animation", and here you can customize the booting animation.

Note: Require file Zip. format, the file name has to be "bootanimation”, and video needs to be saved as frame pictures, resolution 1080x800

2.2.4 Device Orientation

You can set the screen display mode, display horizontal or vertical screen.

Note: This function is suitable for 43/55" machine and is not available for 65"/75"/86" one.

Note: If this does not appear please update firmware

When you select 270, the current screen rotates 270 degrees.

2.3 Input & Output

On this page, you can change the sound output channel, enter the page where you can modify the channel name, and switch the resolution of HDMI OUT. Also, here you can enable the HDMI CEC feature.

2.3.1 Sound Output Settings

You can select the sound output channel among Headphone, LineOut, and Speaker.

2.3.2 Input Naming Settings

This setting allows you to enable channel aliases. You can customize your channel name and apply it to the OSD menu and channel display.

2.3.3 CEC Setting

CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is an HDMI feature designed to allow users to control all connected devices via HDMI with just one remote control. For example, control a set-top box or DVD player with a TV remote. Up to 15 devices can be controlled. CEC also allows CEC-enabled devices to control each other without user intervention.

2.4 System

In the System menu, you can set and view the system information of the whole device.

2.4.1 Startup & Shutdown

On the "Startup & Shutdown" page, you can select the channel that will boot the device, such as last channel or Default Startup Channel. In this menu, you can also set the monitor to return to standby after startup. There is also an option in this menu to turn off the shutdown reminder.

Clicking on "Add Boot Task" will bring up a pop-up window allowing users to add boot tasks, and clicking on "Add Off Task" will bring up a pop-up window allowing users to add off tasks. Clicking on the "Power On/Off Task" list will allow the user to modify the power on/off task. This allows you to schedule the power on/off times for the display.

2.4.2 Date & Time

In this menu, you can switch between 12-hour format and 24-hour format, and the date and time can be updated automatically (this uses the location from your network). When Automatic Date & Time is turned off, the date, time, time format and time zone can be set. When Automatic Date & Time is turned on, you can only set the date and time format.

Click on the item to be set and a pop-up window will appear. You can scroll up and down to select the data to be set. Here, the year, month and day of the system can be set.

The hour, minute, and AM or PM of the system can be set.

There are three date formats supported, such as month/day/year, day/month/year, and year/month/day.

Time zones can be set, and the system has built-in time zones around the world.

2.4.3 Language

You can change the language of the machine on this page.

2.4.4 Security

You can perform certificate operations to decide whether to allow third-party application installation on this page.

You can view the certificates installed by the system or the certificates proactively installed by users on this page.

You can click "Install From Storage" to select the certificate from Finder to install, and click "Clear Credentials" to clear the installed certificate.

You can click "Unknown Sources" to allow or disallow the installation of third-party applications.

2.4.5 Storage

You can see the memory of the entire system.

2.4.6 Advanced Settings

USB Clone: When configuring multiple MAXHUB displays, USB clone can help to export the device OSD settings and support import for copying configuration to another MAXHUB DS.

No Signal Power off: In the case of using other signal channels, e.g. VGA, HDMI, etc. custom the shutdown time when detecting without any external signal source.

Wake On Active Source: Enable screen on when detecting any external signal source in standby mode.

System Optimization: Free up your storage space by removing junk, residual and cache files.

System lock: Enter the lock screen mode with the remote.

2.5 About

You can view the version information of the device, including hardware and software information.

2.5.1 Legal Information

You can check the legal information, including third-party licenses, open source licenses and system WebView licenses.

3. Finder

Click [Finder icon] to open the Finder, which is our file browser.

3.1 Storage

Users can browse resources stored in the local storage by category, including document, whiteboard writing (pages saved by the whiteboard and quick screenshot), video, picture, and audio.

3.2 Search

In the input box on the right upper corner of the interface, type the resource name you want to search, and click "Enter" to search for the resources. For example, by typing "word", you can find resources with the name "word".

3.3 USB

Users can browse resources stored in the USB storage by category, including document, whiteboard writing (pages saved by the whiteboard and quick screenshot), video, picture, and audio.

3.4 Display

There are two different ways of displaying files, grid-like and list-like. Users can choose the way you like to browse your files easily. In addition, you can easily filter and query the files you want through the menu at the top of the window, where you can also edit your files.

Files can be sorted alphabetically by name, by file type, by file size, or by modification date.

3.5 Cloud Disk

Users can log in to your Cloud Drive account and use your Cloud Drive files online as normal as local files, including copying, deleting, modifying and other operations. Provided, of course, that your network is connected.

4. MAXHUB Share

The tool is designed for seamless wireless presentation and collaboration. Please refer to the MAXHUB Share User Manual on the bellow website link: https://www.maxhub.com/en/screen_share

5. MediaPlayer

Click [MediaPlayer icon] to open the Media Player.

5.1 Create Play List

Click the "Create My Playlist" button to create a playlist.

Other than that, the playlist can be deleted, renamed, reordered, and exported to U-Disk.

5.1.1 Export to U-Disk

The target playlist can be exported to a u-disk and then imported to another machine.

5.2 Playlist Detail

Media files are supported to be imported into the playlist from the file browser, which can be deleted or reordered after being imported.

5.3 Playlist Settings

USB Auto Play, Schedule Play, Power On Auto Play and the QR Code Settings are supported.

(1) USB Auto Play: When the switch is on, all media files from the USB plugged into the display will be imported automatically. And the file will start playing after being imported.

(2) Schedule Play: When the switch is on, you can select some playlists to play at the target time.

(3) Power On Auto Play: When the switch is on, you can select some playlists to play after the machine starts.

(4) Show QR Code: When the switch is on, the QR code will be shown on the screen. After scanning the QR code, you can create a playlist by phone.

5.4 Playlist Storage

Local media files are displayed. After selecting a media file, you can quickly create a playlist or add it to an existing playlist.

5.5 Quick Access

You can scan the QR code. After scanning the code with your phone, you can upload media files, create playlists, and select the time interval for image playback.

The method is as follows:

Step1: Scan the QR code with your phone.

Step2: Click the "+" in the middle, and the types of files to upload will pop up, including pictures, videos and audio.

Step3: For example, you select 2 images from your phone album and send them. When sending images, you can create the name of the playlist, set the time interval for the picture to play, and choose whether to save the picture to the device.

The following message will be displayed after successful upload.

Step4: When selecting "Save to device”, you'll see the Playlist you created on your device.

Click "Play" and the picture will loop according to the picture interval you just set.
