- Integrated MIL-STD-461 power filter circuit on the Rugged Panel I/O board.
- JMM-7515-IF external power supply with MIL-STD-461/704/1275 compliance, input-to-output isolation, and 80W max output power, providing 15VDC output.
Without the JMM-7515, the system can be powered from +7V to +20V. With the JMM-7515 installed, it can be powered from +9V to +36V.
3.3 Power Switch
A push-button power switch on the front panel controls system power. A short press (over 20ms debounce) powers the system on. A long press (over 10 seconds) forces a shutdown. A short press when powered on prompts a shutdown/restart menu.
3.4 Backup Battery
A 2032 coin horizontal battery holder is provided on the rugged IO board for RTC backup voltage (3V, 1.8V to 3.46V max). The system can boot and function without this backup battery.
3.5 Ethernet Ports
The Geode-OSB features two Ethernet ports:
- 10G Ethernet: Derived using MGBE interface from the Orin module via a 10G Ethernet PHY.
- 10/100/1000 Ethernet: Uses RGMII interface from the Orin module through a 1G PHY.
Both interfaces use MIL-grade circular connectors. The 10G interface is on J3, and the GbE is on J2. Both ports use 4 copper twisted pair connections.
3.6 Display
One HDMI video output option is available, directly from the module and routed to the rugged I/O connector J4. The baseboard includes common choke and ESD protection circuitry.
3.7 GMSL Camera Interface
The system supports up to 8 GMSL cameras via rugged, sealed FAKRA connectors on the front panel. GMSL interfaces are brought out via an optional Diamond Systems GMSL adapter board. AMC to FAKRA cable assemblies connect to 8 multi-purpose cutouts. The number of available camera ports may be reduced by antenna usage, as they share front panel cutouts.
3.8 Audio Interface
Audio support is provided by an ALC5640 audio chip. Audio I/O signals include stereo line out and mono/stereo mic in, available on the rugged circular connector J2.
3.9 Serial Ports
The Geode-OSB supports up to 4 serial ports. Two ports offer RS-232/422/485 capability via a single SP336 transceiver, configured for the same protocol selected by Orin module GPIO pins. A jumper on the carrier board allows selection of 120 Ohm termination. Two additional fixed RS-232 ports use a MAX3243EIPW transceiver and can bypass the transceiver for 3.3V logic level signaling.
3.10 PCIe Minicard Socket
One full-size minicard socket (J12) supports PCIe x1 and USB 2.0 to the Orin module. A second socket (J13) requires OS configuration changes. The carrier board has M2 threaded spacers for full-size minicards and an M2 hole for half-size minicard standoffs.
3.11 USB
The Geode-OSB provides 2x USB2.0 ports routed to rugged I/O connector J2, and two USB3.2 ports with USB 2.0 fallback routed to the rugged USB connector J5.
3.12 PCIe M.2 M-Key Socket
An M.2 PCIe based SSD module socket is available, with x4 PCIe lanes from the AGX Orin module. It supports 2280/2242 sizes, with M3 threaded standoffs provided for mounting.
3.13 M.2 E-Key Socket
An M.2 2230 E-key socket is provided on the carrier board, supporting a PCIe x1 interface. Antennas for modules use multi-purpose cutouts supporting SMA connectors.
3.14 Digital I/O
The Geode-OSB offers 8x digital I/O, configurable as input or output via an I2C GPIO expander (address 0x22), routed to connector J2. ESD protection is included. Jumper JP2 allows selection of 3.3V/5V DIO voltage levels and Pull-up/Pull-down configuration.
3.15 CAN
Two CAN interfaces are provided from the AGX Orin module to connector J2, using a MCP2551T-I/SN CAN transceiver with baud rates from 60 kbaud up to 1 Mbaud.
3.16 Utility
Power button, Force recovery, Reset, and I2C signals are available on the circular connector J2.
3.17 Expansion IO
Another rugged circular connector J6 is provided on the enclosure for IO expansion using installed minicards or other electronics.
