- Switch off call restrictions on the phone, such as call barring, fixed dialing, or closed user group.
TAKING CARE OF YOUR DEVICE
Handle your device, battery, charger, and accessories with care. The following suggestions help you keep your device working properly.
- Do not expose the device to moisture. Rain, humidity, all types of liquids, or moisture can contain minerals that corrode electronic circuits.
- Do not use or store the device in dusty or dirty areas.
- Do not keep the device in high temperatures. High temperatures can damage the device or battery.
- Do not keep the device in the cold. When the device warms up to normal temperature, moisture may condense inside it and damage it.
- Do not open the device except as instructed in this user guide.
- Unauthorized modifications can damage the device and violate regulations governing radio devices.
- Do not throw, strike, or shake the device. Rough handling can break it.
- Clean the surface of the device only with a clean, dry soft cloth.
- Do not paint the device. A painted device may not function properly.
- Keep the device away from magnets or magnetic fields.
- To preserve important data, keep it in at least two different locations, such as on the device, a memory card, or a computer, or write down important information.
The device may become hot during prolonged use. This is normal in most cases. To prevent the device from overheating, it may automatically slow down, close applications, stop charging, and, if necessary, switch itself off. If the device is not functioning properly, take it to the nearest authorized service center.
11 Recycling
WEEE symbol
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on your product, battery, or packaging reminds you that all electrical and electronic products and batteries must be collected separately at the end of their life. Do not dispose of them with your normal household waste: use the recycling collection points. For information on your nearest recycling collection point, contact your local waste management authority or see HMD's return program and its availability in your country at www.hmd.com/phones/support/topics/recycle.
Information about the battery and charger
For information on whether your phone's battery is removable, see the printed guide.
Devices with a removable battery: Use only the original rechargeable battery with this device. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. When the talk and standby time is noticeably shorter, replace the battery.
Devices with a non-removable battery: Do not try to remove the battery from the device, as you may damage the device. The battery can be charged and discharged hundreds of times, but it will eventually wear out. When the talk and standby time is noticeably shorter, take the device to the nearest authorized service point to have the battery replaced.
Charge the device with a compatible charger. Charger plug types may vary. Charging time may vary depending on the device's power.
Battery and charger safety information
After charging the device, unplug the charger from the device and the electrical socket. Note that continuous charging should not exceed 12 hours. If a fully charged battery is left unused, it will discharge over time.
EXTREME TEMPERATURES
Extreme temperatures reduce battery capacity and shorten its service life. Always keep the battery at a temperature of 15–25 °C for optimal performance. If a hot or cold battery is inserted into the device, it may not work for a while. Note that at low temperatures, the battery may discharge quickly and lose enough power in minutes to switch off the phone. When outdoors in low temperatures, keep your phone in a warm place.
Comply with local regulations. If possible, return the battery for recycling. Do not dispose of it with household waste.
Protect the battery from extremely low air pressure and extremely high temperatures, for example, do not throw it into a fire, as the battery may explode or leak flammable liquid or gas.
Do not disassemble, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or damage the battery. If battery liquid gets on your skin, wash it off with water or seek medical attention. Do not modify the battery, try to insert foreign objects into it, immerse it in water or other liquids. A damaged battery may explode.
Use the battery and charger only as intended. Improper use or the use of unapproved or incompatible batteries or chargers may cause fire, explosion, or other hazards and may void any approval and warranty. If you think the battery or charger is damaged, take it to a service center or phone retailer before further use. Never use a damaged battery or charger. Use the charger only indoors. Do not charge the device during a thunderstorm. If the charger is not included in the sales package, charge your device using the data cable (included) and a USB power adapter (may be sold separately). You may charge your device with third-party cables and power adapters that are compliant with USB 2.0 or later versions and comply with applicable country regulations, international and regional safety standards. Other adapters may not comply with applicable safety standards, and charging with such adapters carries a risk of property loss or personal injury.
To disconnect a charger or accessory, pull the plug, not the cord.
If your device has a removable battery, the following additional rules apply.
- Always switch off the device and disconnect the charger before removing covers or the battery.
- If a metal object touches the metal strips on the battery, it may cause a short circuit. This can damage the battery or the object.
SMALL CHILDREN
Your device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep them out of the reach of small children.
MEDICAL DEVICES
Radio frequency-emitting devices, including wireless phones, may affect the performance of inadequately shielded medical devices. Consult your doctor or the medical device manufacturer to determine if it is adequately protected against external radio frequency energy.
IMPLANTED MEDICAL DEVICES
To avoid potential interference, manufacturers of implanted medical devices (such as pacemakers, insulin pumps, and neurostimulators) recommend that a minimum separation of 15.3 cm be maintained between a wireless device and the implanted medical device. If you have such a device, you should:
- Always keep your wireless device more than 15.3 cm away from your medical device.
- Do not carry the wireless device in your inner pocket.
- Hold the wireless device to the ear on the opposite side of the medical device.
- Switch off the wireless device if there is any reason to suspect interference.
- Follow the instructions of the implanted medical device manufacturer.
If you have questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your healthcare provider.
HEARING
Warning! When using headphones, you may hear ambient sounds less clearly. Do not use headphones if it may compromise your safety.
Some wireless devices may cause interference with some hearing aids.
PROTECTING THE DEVICE FROM HARMFUL CONTENT
The device may be vulnerable to viruses and other harmful content. Take the following precautions:
- Be cautious when opening messages. They may contain malware or otherwise harm your device or computer.
- Be cautious when accepting connection requests or browsing the internet. Do not accept Bluetooth® connections from sources you do not trust.
- Install antivirus and other security software on any connected computer.
- If you go to third-party websites based on pre-installed tags and links, take appropriate security measures. "HMD Global" does not endorse these sites and assumes no responsibility for them.
TRANSPORT IN VEHICLES
Radio signals may affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded electronic systems in vehicles. For more information, contact the vehicle or equipment manufacturer. The device should only be installed by authorized specialists in a vehicle. Improper installation may cause danger and void the warranty. Regularly check that all wireless equipment installed in the vehicle is securely fastened and functioning properly. Do not store or transport flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place the device or its accessories in the deployment area of an airbag.
POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES
Switch off the device in potentially explosive atmospheres, for example, near a petrol pump. Sparks may cause an explosion or fire, resulting in severe or fatal injuries. In areas with petrol, chemical plants, or areas where blasting operations are carried out, comply with applicable restrictions. A potentially explosive atmosphere may not be clearly marked. These are typically areas where it is recommended to switch off a vehicle engine, below-deck areas on a ship, areas for the transfer or storage of chemicals, and areas where the air contains chemicals or particles. Consult the manufacturers of vehicles that use liquefied gas (e.g., propane or butane) to see if this device can be safely used in their environment.

SAR tests are performed in standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. This device complies with RF exposure recommendations when used against the head or worn or operated at a distance of at least 1.5 cm from the body. The carrying case, belt clip, or other device holder used for body-worn operation should not contain metal, should position the device as mentioned above, and should not be used with the device. For body-worn operation, this device has been tested and meets ICNIRP RF exposure guidelines when used with an accessory that does not contain metal and is positioned at a minimum of 1.5 cm from the body. The use of other accessories may not ensure compliance with ICNIRP RF exposure guidelines and should be avoided. If using a carrying case, clip, or holder that contains metal, it should not be used to position the device next to the body, as it has not been tested and certified.
