Adjusting Antiskating
Your Clearaudio Concept turntable's parameters are factory-set. If transport or other factors have altered these settings, or if you are installing a new cartridge, follow these steps to set the antiskating:
Locate the adjustment screw on the underside of the turntable, near the tonearm base (see Figure 1). Clearaudio factory-sets the tonearm with a tracking force of 2.4 grams (+/- 0.2g) for MM cartridges and 2.2 grams (+/- 0.2g) for MC cartridges.
Turn the screw to adjust the antiskating strength (stronger or weaker).
Before adjusting, set the system to the "0" position:
- MM models: Turn the screw one (1) full turn counterclockwise.
- MC models: Turn the screw two (2) full turns counterclockwise.
Adjustment Guidance:
Clockwise rotation (max. 5 turns) increases antiskating.
Counterclockwise rotation (max. 5 turns) decreases antiskating.
Specific turns correspond to tracking forces:
- 1 turn = 2.4 grams tracking force (for MM)
- 2 turns = 2.2 grams tracking force (for MC)
Figure 1: Antiskating Adjustment
The illustration shows the tonearm base adjustment screw. Green arrows indicate counter-clockwise rotation for weaker antiskating, and red arrows indicate clockwise rotation for stronger antiskating. The diagram notes that 2 turns counterclockwise set the tracking force to 2.2g (MC), and 1 turn counterclockwise sets it to 2.4g (MM).
Professional Adjustment Recommendation
