Function

Convert the original car wired CarPlay to wireless CarPlay.

Installation Steps

1. Please connect the wireless CarPlay adapter to your car unit USB port.
2. Turn on the Bluetooth and Wifi function.
3. Pair SmartBox-XXXX device, allow contacts and sync.
4. Press "Use CarPlay" and activate CarPlay.

Tips

• Make sure that the wireless CarPlay adapter is connected to the USB or Type-C interface of the original car screen with the iPhone interconnection function.
• Before the wireless CarPlay adapter is paired and used, make sure to disconnect the Bluetooth and WiFi between your iPhone and the original car screen to avoid interference.

Support Upgrade Online

Instructions for upgrading the firmware online:

1. Please connect the wireless CarPlay adapter to a USB power adapter.
2. Turn on your iPhone's WiFi and join the WiFi devices named "smartBox_xxxx".
3. Enter the password '88888888' and find the IP address 192.168.1.101 in your Safari browser.
4. After accessing the IP page, download the firmware online from your iPhone. This requires connecting to the "smartBox-xxxxx" network until the upgrade is completed.

Upgrade Process Visual Description:

The upgrade process involves two main screens:

Screen 1 (Problem Description): Displays fields for 'Car Make', 'Model Name', 'Year', and 'Detailed description of the problem'. A 'Submit' button is present at the bottom.

Screen 2 (Online Update): Shows "New version is available 22051021.1344.1" with an 'Update' button. Below this are 'Update Notes' showing an IP address (192.168.1.101) and navigation controls.

Warm Tips

• Generally, it takes 3-4 minutes to upgrade new firmware. The orange/green light will keep flashing until the upgrade is successful.
• Do not power off during the upgrade process.
• If the wireless CarPlay adapter works normally, please DO NOT UPGRADE.

Attention

1. Before connecting, ensure the Bluetooth and WiFi of the mobile phone are not connected to other devices. If connected, disconnect them. Before changing the mobile phone connection, turn off the WIFI and Bluetooth of the mobile phone previously connected to the device.
2. If the connection is unsuccessful, unplug the box and try again. If a problem persists, restart the car head unit or reset it to factory settings.
3. After a successful CarPlay connection, the mobile phone's Bluetooth will disconnect from this device. If the mobile phone's Bluetooth is connected to other audio devices, sound will not come from the original car speaker.
4. The wireless CarPlay function may not be enabled when the car is restarted. Re-establish the connection by plugging and unplugging the box.
5. This product does not support all original cars with wired CarPlay function.
6. If WiFi and Bluetooth are connecting to other devices, ignore those connections and connect to this CarPlay adapter's Bluetooth and WiFi. If connection fails, ignore the product's Bluetooth name, turn Bluetooth off for 5 seconds, then reconnect.
7. The device WiFi does not require a password. The backup password is 88888888. iOS 15 versions may require a WiFi password. Connection will fail if the password is not entered or WiFi is occupied by other devices.
8. If a "Allow CarPlay" prompt appears and "Later" is selected during connection, the connection will fail. Select "device name" under the mobile phone's "General" settings, then "CarPlay" to enable it.
9. To turn off CarPlay, disconnect the device's Bluetooth and WiFi on the mobile phone, or unplug the box.
10. If the wireless CarPlay function experiences issues like the other party not hearing clearly or an echo during calls, turn on the mobile phone's Bluetooth hands-free calling.

Loss or decline of function (partial or complete) may occur due to defects in iOS itself, improper mobile phone upgrades (including jailbreaking), differences in mobile phone hardware models, regional variations, or improper operation of the original car or vehicle system, or improper product upgrades.

Device Disconnection Exemption

Disconnection phenomena during use, such as excessively long connection times or issues with the original car's wired CarPlay, may occur. This is influenced by external conditions or the environment. The product has been optimized to detect disconnections and will attempt to reboot or prompt manual reconnection by unplugging and replugging the box.

The product has been authorized or entrusted with IATF16949 certification for processing and production.
