3. Hardw are Installation
VigorAP can be inst all ed under cert ain locat ions: wooden ceiling, plast erboard ceilings, light -weight ed st eel f rame and wall.
3 .1 Ce iling-m ount I nst a lla t ion (Woode n Ce iling)
1. Place t he bracket under t he wooden ceil ing and f ast en t wo screws f irmly (as shown in Figure bel ow, St ep 1).
2. When t he bracket is in place, f ast en t wo screws f irmly (as shown in Figure below, St ep 2) on t he bot t om of VigorAP.
3. Make t he device j ust below t he bracket . Put t he screws inst alled in St ep 2 on t he hol es of t he bracket (as shown in Figure below, St ep 3).
4. Gent ly rot at e t he device t o make screws slide int o t he not ches of t he bracket and move f orward t ill it is f irmly f ixed.

3 .2 Ce iling-m ount I nst a lla t ion (Pla st e rboa rd Ce iling)
1. Place t he bracket under t he plast erboard ceiling and f ast en t wo t urnbuckles f irmly (as shown in Figure bel ow, St ep 1).
2. Make t he screws pass t hrough t he bracket and insert int o t he t urnbuckles (as shown in Figure bel ow, St ep 2). Fast en t hem t o of f er more powerf ul support ing f orce.
3. When t he bracket is in place, f ast en t wo screws f irmly (as shown in Figure below, St ep 3) on t he bot t om of VigorAP.
4. Make t he device j ust below t he bracket . Put t he screws inst alled in St ep 3 on t he screw holes of t he bracket (as shown in Figure below, St ep 4).
5. Gent ly rot at e t he device t o make screws slide int o t he not ches of t he bracket and move f orward t ill it is f irmly f ixed.

3.3 Suspended Ceiling (Lightw eight Steel Frame) Installation
You cannot screw int o ceiling t iles as t hey are weak and not suit able f or bearing loads. Your VigorAP is supplied wit h mount s (T-Rail bracket s) which at t ach direct ly t o t he met al grid (` T-Rail' ) of your suspended ceiling. 1. Choose one set of T-Rail mount ing kit s f rom t he bundl ed package. 2. Put t he T-Rail bracket s on t he holes of t he bot t om side of t he device. Fast en

3 .4 Wa ll-M ount e d I nst a lla t ion
For wall-mount ing, t he VigorAP has keyhole t ype mount ing slot s on t he underside. You can f it t he AP at any axis (i. e. 12, 3, 6 or 9 O' Clock) t o allow f or cable ent ry f rom t he most convenient locat ion if you are using side ent ry ­ not e t he posit ion of t he side ent ry cable cut out . 1. A t emplat e is provided on t he VigorAP' s packaging box t o enable you t o
space t he screws correct ly on t he wall.
2. Place t he t emplat e on t he wall and drill t he holes according t o t he recommended inst ruct ion.
3. Fit screws int o t he wall using t he appropriat e t ype of wall plug (as shown in t he ceiling sect ion) but do not use t he ceiling bracket ­ t he VigorAP hangs direct ly ont o t he screws.

4. Connection and Configuration
4.1 Notifications for Hardw are Connection
 If required, remove t he prot ect ive cap of VigorAP t o creat e ext ra space f or t he cables t o pass t hrough.
 Connect VigorAP t o Vigor rout er (via LAN port ) wit h Et hernet cable.
 Connect VigorAP t o PoE swit ch (via LAN port ) wit h Et hernet cable. For connect ing wit h PoE swit ch, do not connect t he power adapt er. VigorAP will get t he power f rom t he swit ch direct ly.

4.2 Connect to a Vigor Router using AP Management
Your VigorAP can be used wit h Vigor rout ers which support AP management (such as t he Vigor2865 or Vigor2927 series). AP Management enables you t o monit or and manage mult iple DrayTek APs f rom a single int erf ace. 1. Connect one end of t he power adapt er t o power port of VigorAP, and t he
ot her side int o a wall out let .
2. Access int o t he web user int erf ace of Vigor rout er. Here we t ake Vigor2865 as an example. Open Central Management>>AP>>Status.
3. Locat e VigorAP 912C. Click t he IP address assigned by Vigor rout er t o access int o web user int erf ace of VigorAP 912C.
4. Af t er t yping username and password (admin/ admin), t he main screen will be di spl ayed.

4.3 Web Configurations
This sect ion will guide you t o inst all t he AP and make conf igurat ion f or VigorAP.
Connected As a Mesh Node (in Mesh Network)

 Inst all VigorAP on t o t he ceiling.



As a mesh node, set t ings relat ed t o VigorAP 912C must be conf igured by a remot e Mesh Root (e. g. , VigorAP 903) wit hin t he mesh net work. The user must det ect VigorAP 912C via a Mesh Root t o add it as a mesh node.

Connected As an Access Point
As an access point , VigorAP 912C must be connect ed t o a rout er and conf igured in AP (Access Point ) / Range Ext ender mode.

 

Inst all VigorAP on t o t he ceiling.
Use a t wist ed-pair cable wit h RJ-45 plugs at bot h ends, and plug int o Et hernet device (e. g. , Vigor rout er) and Et hernet port of VigorAP.

 There are two methods t o conf igure VigorAP.
Method 1:
(a) First , open a web browser on your PC and t ype https:/ / 192. 168. 1. 2. A pop-up window will open t o ask f or username and password.

You may eit her simply set up your comput er t o get IP dynamically f rom t he rout er or set up t he IP address of t he comput er t o be in t he same subnet as the IP address of VigorAP 912C.
 If t here is no DHCP server on t he net work, t hen VigorAP 912C will have an IP address of 192. 168. 1. 2.
 If t here is DHCP available on t he net work, t hen VigorAP 912C will receive it s IP address via t he DHCP server.
 If you connect t o VigorAP by wireless LAN, you could t ry t o access t he web user int erf ace t hrough ht t p: / / vigorap. com.

(b) Af t er clicking Login, Quick Start Wizard f or conf iguring wireless set t ings will appear as f ollows.

(c) Follow t he on-screen st eps t o f inish t he net work connect ion.

Method 2: (a) Use a mobile phone t o scan t he QR code named wit h DrayTek Wireless
App t o download DrayTek Wireless APP.
(b) Af t er downloading, run t he APP. (c) From t he home page, click t he Connect icon t o access t he Connect
page. Next , press t he QR code icon next t o Scan QR Code on your phone screen t o open t he camera. Scan t he QR code named wit h Connect SSID t o access t he web user int erf ace (conf igurat ion wizard) of VigorAP 912C. (For iOS users, t he SSID and t he password will be shown f irst . Simply click t he Connect but t on t o access t he web user int erf ace of VigorAP. )
