B METERS IWM-PL3 Pulse Module
Installation and Technical Guide
Product Description
The IWM-PL3 module is a device designed to transmit reading data via pulse output from B METERS water meters, specifically the GMDM-I, GMB-I, GMB-RP-I, and CPR-M3-I models. Configuration is performed using an Android device with NFC and the Bmetering NFC Config application, available on the Google Play Store. This application allows for setting impulsive values, operating options, and monitoring status and alarms. For detailed configuration features, refer to the configuration software manual.

Installation
Before installation, remove the metal sticker from the inductive sensor of the module. The IWM-PL3 module is compatible with GMDM-I, GMB-I, GMB-RP-I, and CPR-M3-I meters.
Installation Steps:
- Remove the metal sticker from the inductive sensor. [Image Description: A diagram showing a red arrow pointing to remove a sticker from the inductive sensor of the module.]
- Align the module's hooks with the meter's hooks. Push the module horizontally until it clicks and is centered with the meter dial. [Image Description: A diagram showing a module being attached to a water meter, with a red curved arrow indicating a 'CLICK!' sound.]
- Apply the screw and the anti-tampering sticker. [Image Description: A diagram showing a screw being inserted and an anti-tampering sticker being applied to the installed module.]
- Configure the module using the Bmetering NFC Config application. The module will not send pulses without configuration. [Image Description: A smartphone with NFC capabilities placed over the installed module for configuration.]
Wiring Connections
- White [+]: Regular count wire, NO contact (Normally Open). Closes each time a pulse is sent, regardless of flow direction.
- Yellow [+]: Tampering wire, NC contact (Normally Closed). Opens for the duration of one pulse when an event occurs (e.g., module removal, fraud, cable cut, magnetic fraud).
- Green [+]: Programmable wire, NO contact (Normally Open). Functions include Absolute counting (with backward flow compensation), Backward counting, or Dosing (closes every 'x' litres, programmable).
- Brown [-]: Ground (common wire).
Cable Extension Guidelines
To extend the default cable, use a braided shielded cable with the following specifications:
- Maximum extension length: 8.5 meters (total length up to 10 meters including the default 1.5m cable).
- Cable section: 4 poles x 0.25 mm².
- Maximum applicable current: 100 mA (absorbable), 30 VDC.
- Copper shielding: > 70%.
Safety Precautions
- Handle the device with care during installation. Avoid crushing, bending, or exposure to electrostatic discharges.
- Do not install near heat sources.
- The module complies with European directives 2011/65/UE (RoHS). Dispose of the device responsibly at the end of its life cycle according to local regulations. Do not incinerate or expose to high temperatures.
- Unauthorized interventions or modifications may cause malfunctions or damage the product.
