Safety Precautions ⚠️
- Read and retain these instructions for future reference.
- Remove all packaging and labels.
- If the plug or cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Kenwood or an authorised repairer to avoid a hazard.
- Turn the speed control to 'O' (OFF) and unplug before fitting/removing tools, after use, and before cleaning.
- Keep body parts, hair, jewellery, and loose clothing away from moving parts and attachments.
- Never leave the Stand Mixer unattended while operating.
- Do not use a damaged appliance; have it checked or repaired.
- Never operate the Stand Mixer with the head in the raised position.
- Do not put fingers into the hinge mechanism.
- Ensure the cord does not hang where a child could grab it.
- Never let the power unit, cord, or plug get wet.
- Do not use unauthorised attachments or more than one at a time.
- Do not exceed quantities stated in the maximum capacity chart.
- When using an attachment, read and follow its specific safety instructions.
- Lift the appliance carefully as it is heavy. Ensure the head is latched down and all parts are secure before lifting.
- Exercise caution when removing bowl tools after extended use, as they may be hot.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Do not move or raise the mixer head with an attachment fitted, as this can cause instability.
- When moving the appliance, always lift by the pedestal base and mixer head, not the bowl handle.
- Do not operate near the edge of a work surface or apply force to an attachment, as this may cause instability and tipping, resulting in injury.
- Use the short power-supply cord to reduce tripping hazards. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised. Ensure the extension cord's electrical rating is adequate, it is arranged safely, and it is a 3-wire earthed type.
- Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if given supervision or instruction for safe use and understanding of hazards.
- Misuse can result in injury.
- This appliance is not for use by children; keep it and its cord out of reach.
- The maximum rating is based on the mini chopper/mill attachment; other attachments may draw less power.
- Use only for intended domestic use. Kenwood is not liable for improper use or failure to comply with instructions.

- Remove Tool: Turn the tool clockwise to unlock it from the socket and then remove it.
Hints: The 'Fold' function (?) is useful for gently incorporating light ingredients into heavier mixtures, like meringues or fruit fools, or slowly adding flour to cake mixtures. The mixer operates at a constant slow speed.
Important: Ensure no bowl tools are fitted or stored in the bowl when using other outlets.
Using the Weighing Function
- Fit the bowl.
- Press the ON/ZERO button. The display screen will flash '----' then show '0'.
- Press the (kg/lb) button to select grams or ounces. The display defaults to kg/g. The unit weighs in 1g increments; teaspoon/tablespoon measures are recommended for small quantities.
- To zero the scales, press the ON/ZERO button once.
- Weigh the required ingredients directly into the bowl.
Note: Always place the appliance on a dry, flat, stable surface before weighing. Do not apply pressure to the mixer or bowl during weighing, as this affects accuracy. The weighing function can be used with the mixer head up or down.
Count Up Timer: During operation, the display screen acts as a count-up timer, pausing for up to 30 seconds when the speed control is set to 'O'. To reset the timer, press the ON/ZERO button while the machine is running.
Using Attachments
Splashguard
- Raise the mixer head until it locks. ⬆️
- Fit the bowl onto the base.
- Push the splashguard onto the underside of the mixer head until fully located, ensuring the hinged section is positioned correctly.
- Insert the required tool.
- Lower the mixer head.
- Ingredients can be added directly to the bowl via the splashguard's hinged section during mixing.
- The splashguard does not need to be removed to change tools.
- To remove the splashguard, raise the mixer head and push it downwards.
Tool Adjustment (K-beater & Whisk)
Tools are factory-set for the supplied bowl and usually require no adjustment. If adjustment is needed, use a suitable spanner:
- TYPE KVC65: 15mm spanner
- TYPE KVL65: 19mm spanner
Adjustment Steps:
- Unplug the appliance.
- Raise the mixer head and insert the whisk or beater.
- Lower the mixer head. To adjust clearance, raise the head and remove the tool. The whisk/K-beater should ideally be almost touching the bottom of the bowl.
- Loosen the shaft nut with the spanner. Turn the shaft anti-clockwise to lower the tool closer to the bowl, or clockwise to raise it.
- Re-tighten the nut.
- Fit the tool, lower the mixer head, and check its position. Repeat steps as needed until correctly set, then tighten the nut securely.
Note: Spanner shown is for illustration only.
