MGL MS2125A AC/DC Clamp Meter
Quick Start Guide
Safety Precautions
Special attention should be paid when using the test and measurement instrument as improper usage may cause electric shock and damage the equipment.
- Use proper measurement category (CAT), voltage, and amperage rated probes, test leads, and adapters for the measurement.
- Do not use or store the device around explosive gas, vapor, or under high temperature and humidity.
- When handling the test probes and crocodile clips, keep your fingers behind the physical guard.
- Examine the measuring test leads (if present) before use. Replace any element with deteriorated insulation with proper functional test leads.
- Connect the common test lead before the live test lead and remove the live test lead before the common test lead.
- Before measuring current, ensure the instrument fuses are available and disconnect the power supply to the circuit being tested.
- Remove batteries if the device is not used for an extended period or stored in temperatures above 45 °C to prevent battery leakage damage.

Measurement Guide
Voltage Measurement (AC/DC):
- Connect the red test lead to the INPUT jack and the black test lead to the COM jack.
- Turn the dial to the desired AC (V~) or DC (V) voltage setting.
- Press the FUNC button to select between AC and DC if applicable.
- Connect the test leads across the component or circuit to be measured.
- Read the voltage displayed on the screen.
Current Measurement (AC/DC):
- Open the clamp jaw and place it around the conductor.
- Turn the dial to the desired AC (A~) or DC (A) current setting.
- Press the FUNC button to select between AC and DC if applicable.
- Read the current displayed on the screen.
Resistance Measurement (Ω):
- Connect the red test lead to the INPUT jack and the black test lead to the COM jack.
- Turn the dial to the resistance (Ω) setting.
- Press the FUNC button to select the appropriate range if needed.
- Connect the test leads across the component to be measured.
- Read the resistance displayed on the screen.
Capacitance Measurement (F):
- Connect the red test lead to the INPUT jack and the black test lead to the COM jack.
- Turn the dial to the capacitance (F) setting.
- Press the FUNC button to select the appropriate range if needed.
- Connect the test leads across the capacitor to be measured.
- Read the capacitance displayed on the screen.
Frequency Measurement (Hz):
- Connect the red test lead to the INPUT jack and the black test lead to the COM jack.
- Turn the dial to the frequency (Hz) setting.
- Connect the test leads to the signal source.
- Read the frequency displayed on the screen.
Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection:
- Turn the dial to the NCV setting.
- Bring the sensor near a conductor or outlet.
- The device will emit a beep and/or a visual indicator if voltage is detected.
