1. Remove passenger (key) and rider seat (cable pull) 2. Remove center black plastic upper fairing cover (6 plastic fasteners - press center with small screwdriver to disenage fastener and remove), lift up slightly and pull forward to release. 3. Locate left and right signal plugs (blue and black under larger boot), and the license plate light plug (white under smaller boot) and disconnect them. Un-route them from the cable management clip. 4. Remove the rear fender (4 bolts from up top using 5mm allen), 2 of the bolts secure the cable management clip. Support fender on last bolt removal and remove along with the 3 wires sets. Cable management clip can be reused to remount later or it can be left out. 5. Attach the LED license plate light to the plate holder by feeding the wires 1 at a time through the center hold ensuring the LEDs are facing down, then secure with the 2 nuts/washers using 7mm socket. Attach the license plate light adapter harness to the LED license plate light, White>White and Black>Black. Feed the wire harness up through the large opening on the plate holder.
OPTIONAL: ATTACH EXTERNAL TURN SIGNALS (SEE BELOW)
6. While feeding the license plate light adapter harness (and optional turn signal harnesses) through the wire feed hole on the undertail, mount the license plate light holder assembly from step 5 above to the bike's undertail using two M8x25mm bolts, M8 washers, and M8 lock nuts on the 2 REARWARD holes. 5mm allen and 13mm socket. See illustration. 7. From the top pull up any slack of the wire(s), then mount the wire cover to the underside of the plate holder using the remaining two M8x25mm bolts, M8 washers, and M8 lock nuts on the FORWARD holes. NOTE: all the wires should be positioned in the slot of the wire cover before positioning/tightening. 5mm allen and 13mm socket. 8. Connect license plate light plug (and optional turn signals plugs) back into the bike. 9. Reinstall center black plastic upper fairing cover, rider seat, passenger seat. Test all lighting before going on a road test.
Installing factory turn signals 1. Disassembly of factory rear fender to extract turn signals. 2 black bolts from up top using 4mm allen and 2 Philips screw from underneath using Philips screwdriver. Unclip upper center black panel then underneath undo 1 wire management clip and cut 1 zip tie. Remove the OEM turn signals off the factory rear fender. 1 Philips screw then remove the locking plate, followed by popping out the backing plate. Carefully pop off the turn signals and pull out the wires. 2. Reinstall turn signals onto the factory turn signal brackets in the reverse order of removal. 3. Mount factory turn signal adapters to license plate mounting holes on plate holder using four M6x16mm allen bolts, M6 large OD washers, and M6 nuts. Bolt>License plate>Plate Holder>Adapter>Washer>Nut
Installing aftermarket in-hole turn signals 1. Mount the aftermarket signal onto the aftermarket turn signal brackets, do not fully tighten 2. Mount the adapter on the upper holes of the license plate using two M6x16mm bolts, M6 larger OD washers and M6 lock nuts 3. Clock the turn signal so that it faces the rear, then tighten 4. Most aftermarket turn signals will require additional wiring
