Drawings

Drawing 1 - Bush Configurations

Description: Diagram showing two types of bushes, labeled 'S' and 'D'. The 'S' bushes are tightened anti-clockwise, and the 'D' bushes are tightened clockwise. The text explains that 'S' bushes are on the left when looking at the radiator front, and 'D' bushes are on the right. It advises using up to 4 turns of PTFE tape for sealing threads, applied in the direction of the thread, to prevent leaks.

Important Note: Trade Essentials Aluminium Designer White radiators have specific left and right-hand threaded bushes that can be easily damaged if forced or fitted incorrectly, which will inevitably cause leaks. Bushes require a dry fit connection only; do not use any compound materials (e.g., Jet Blue) or Plumbers Hemp. If you choose, you may use up to 4 turns of PTFE tape to help seal the threads (the tape should be applied in the direction of the thread and no more than this amount should be used as this may cause leaks to occur).

Drawing 2 - Bracket Positions

Description: Diagram illustrating the placement of wall brackets. It shows two left-hand brackets and two right-hand brackets. The text indicates that brackets should be fixed using a suitable drill bit, screws, and plugs, ensuring they are level and square prior to hanging the radiator for vertical alignment with pipework. It advises marking and fixing the two top brackets first, ensuring they are level, then hanging the radiator and marking the location of the two bottom brackets before fixing them.

3. Fit Diverter

Aluminium radiators which are 1400mm tall are supplied with a Spring Diverter, which is installed in the lower waterway at either end. This is installed by pushing the cap firmly into the waterway until it locates against the barrel nipple and is retained in place by the bush. The flow must enter this end first.

4. Fix Brackets

You will have been supplied with at least four brackets. The brackets are typically positioned one section in from either end, with extra brackets spaced at equal distances between these. Brackets should be fixed using a suitable drill bit, screws, and plugs. It is essential that all brackets are level and square prior to hanging the radiator to ensure a vertical alignment for connecting the pipework. Mark and fix the two top brackets, checking they are level. Hang the radiator in position and mark the location of the two bottom brackets and fix in place.

5. Hang & Commission Radiator

With the brackets firmly fixed and level, the radiator is lowered directly onto the brackets. When commissioning your radiator on an indirect/closed system, it is recommended to use a suitable quality and quantity of mixed metal inhibitor to protect against scale and corrosion. Damage caused to systems not protected by a suitable inhibitor will not be covered by the manufacturer's guarantee.
