MIDEA AIR APP AND SMART HOME SKILLS INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT NOTE: Read the manual carefully before installing or connecting your air conditioner. Make sure to save this manual for future reference.

Network Configuration
Follow these steps to connect your Midea device to your home network:
- Log in to your Midea Air account.
- Tap the '+' icon to add an appliance.
- Connect your device to Wireless.

Connect via Bluetooth:
- Select 'Scan for nearby devices'.
- Turn the device on. Press and hold the appropriate button (Connect for Window AC, Swing for Portable AC, Filter for Dehumidifier, or Power for Cube Dehumidifier) for 3 seconds until the display shows 'AP'.
- When your device appears, tap its icon. If multiple devices are listed, match the last 4 digits under the icon with the last 4 digits on the unit's QR code sticker.
- Select your desired wireless network and enter the password. Press 'Start Configuration'.
- Wait for the device to connect to the network.
- Once connected, you can edit the device name or press 'OK' to finish.

Manually Connect:
- Select 'Scan for nearby devices'.
- Power on the device and wait 5 seconds.
- Press and hold the relevant button (e.g., 'WiFi' for Window AC) for 3-5 seconds until the display shows 'AP'.
- For Android, you can scan the QR code on the air conditioner. For iOS or if not using a QR code, select 'Manual Setup'.
- Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and connect to the network named 'net_ac_xxxx' using the password '12345678'.
- Return to the 'Midea Air' App, select your preferred 2.4 GHz wireless network, enter your password, and press 'Start Configuration'.
- The app will show the connection progress. If it fails, check your network settings and the unit, then try again.
- Name your unit. Recommended names are provided, or you can enter a custom name.
NOTICE: In unstable network connections, devices may appear offline. Wait for them to reappear or try power cycling the unit. If the issue persists, repeat the pairing process.
How to Use the App
Log in and select your unit to control it remotely via your smartphone.
Shared Device Setup:
Add a shared device from another user account by tapping '+' and selecting 'Add Shared Device'. Scan the QR code generated in the other user's app from their device settings. Both accounts can then control the device.
Air Conditioner Display Overview:
- (1) Back Arrow: Returns to the main screen.
- (2) Unit Name: Displays the name of the currently controlled unit.
- (3) Function: Accesses features like Express Run, Sleep Curve, and Schedule.
- (4) Temperature and Mode Display: Shows the set temperature and operating mode.
- (5) Temperatures: Displays the current indoor temperature readings.
- (6) Power: Turns the unit On/Off.
- (7) Mode: Switches between modes like Auto, Cool, Dry, Fan, and Heat. The background color may change based on the mode.
- (8) Fan Speed: Adjusts fan speed (AUTO, LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH).
- (9) Express Run: Activates pre-set Express Run settings.
- (10) ECO: Toggles Eco Mode On/Off.
- (11) Sleep Curve: Toggles Sleep Curve mode On/Off.
- (12) LED: Toggles the unit's display On/Off. The display may briefly illuminate when settings are changed.
NOTICE: Not all functions may be supported by your specific model. Refer to your product's user manual for details. Additional functions can be accessed by swiping up on the bottom menu.
Cube Dehumidifier Display Overview:
- (1) Back Arrow: Returns to the main screen.
- (2) Unit Name: Displays the name of the currently controlled unit.
- (3) Function: Accesses schedule and device sharing options.
- (4) Current Humidity Display: Shows the current humidity level.
- (5) Humidity Setpoint Control and Display: Allows setting and viewing the target humidity.
- (6) Fan Speed Control and Display: Allows viewing and adjusting the fan speed.
- (7) Current Water Display and Fill Level Selection: Shows the estimated water level and allows adjustment of the fill level.
- (8) Usage Scenarios: Provides one-touch control for common dehumidifier settings.
- (9) MAX Mode: Toggles Max Mode (continuous operation on High Fan Speed).
- (10) Continuous Mode: Toggles Continuous Mode (continuous operation with adjustable fan speed).
- (11) Power: Turns the unit On/Off.
Standard Dehumidifier Display Overview:
- (1) Back Arrow: Returns to the main screen.
- (2) Unit Name: Displays the name of the currently controlled unit.
- (3) Function: Accesses schedule and device sharing options.
- (4) Current Humidity Display: Shows the current humidity level.
- (5) Mode Selection: Changes the dehumidifier's operating mode.
- (6) Humidity Setpoint Control and Display: Allows setting and viewing the target humidity.
- (7) Power: Turns the unit On/Off.
- (8) Fan Speed Control: Opens the Fan Speed control to change the setpoint.
NOTICE: Functions may vary by device type. Only functions displayed in the app for your specific device are available.
Available Functions:
- Air Conditioner Functions: Power, Fan Speed, Express Run, ECO, Sleep Curve, LED, Sound (beeps), Schedules, Horizontal Swing, Direction (louvre angle).
- Dehumidifier Functions: Max, Continuous, Usage Scenario.
Special Functions
This section covers functions like Schedules, Sleep Curve, Check (Self Diagnosis), Express Run, and Share Device.
NOTICE: Not all models display all functions. Refer to your product's user manual. Additional functions may be added by Midea developers.
Schedules:
Manually set times for your device to change settings. Program settings based on time of day and day of the week. These settings are saved in the app and can be toggled on or off.
Customized Sleep Curve:
Customize your air conditioner's settings for each hour of sleep. Scroll left and right to adjust up to 8 hours.
Self Diagnosis - "Check" Function:
Run a self-diagnosis. The app will display a report on key items and their status. The process involves testing parameters and checking for fault information.
Express Run:
Set specific operating parameters (mode, temperature, fan speed) that can be activated with the Express Run button on the main device control screen.
Amazon Alexa Connection Instructions
- Ensure your AC unit is connected to your Midea Air account.
- Download the Amazon Alexa app.
- Follow the Amazon Alexa app's setup instructions.
- Navigate to 'Skills & Games' under the 'More' tab.
- Tap the search icon and search for "Midea Air Smart Home".
- Select the appropriate skill ('Midea Air Smart Home Skill' for AC, 'Midea Air Dehumidifier Smart' for Dehumidifier) and select 'Enable to Use'.
- Enter your Midea Air credentials in the 'Link Account' tab and authorize.
- Click 'Close' and follow the in-app instructions to complete device setup with Alexa.
Command Examples for Amazon Alexa AC:
"Alexa, turn on [given name of AC]."
"Alexa, set [given name of AC] mode to cool."
"Alexa, set [given name of AC] temperature to 70."
Google Home Connection Instructions
- Ensure your AC unit is connected to your Midea Air account.
- Download the Google Home app.
- Sign in or create your Google account.
- Select the '+' icon to begin setting up your device.
- Select 'Set up device', then 'Works with Google'.
- Search for 'Midea Air', select it, enter your Midea Air login credentials, and authorize Google to access your smart devices.
- Follow the in-app instructions to complete device setup with Google Home.
Command Examples for Google Home AC:
"Ok Google, turn on [given name of AC unit]."
"Ok Google, change [given name of AC unit] mode to Auto."
"Ok Google, change [given name of AC unit] temperature setting to 70 degrees."
"Ok Google, set [given name of AC unit] to high."
Tip: Commands work for multiple units if you say "all air conditioners" instead of a specific unit name.
