Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Connection Type Detection Failure
If the router fails to detect the connection type automatically, choose one manually:
- Dynamic IP (recommended): Obtain IP address from ISP automatically. Use if your ISP does not provide a username and password.
- Static IP: Use if your ISP provided a specific IP address and other information.
- PPPoE: Use if your Internet Service Provider (ISP) provided PPPoE username and password.
Q2: Changing SSID and Password
Open the ROCK WIFI app, select 'More settings', then 'WiFi setting'. Edit the SSID and password, then tap 'Save'. You will need to reconnect to the network with the new credentials.
Q3: Resetting to Factory Settings
With the nodes powered on, press and hold the reset pinhole on the back of the primary node using a paper clip or pointed object. Release when the [LED indicator] blinks fast. The network is reset when the [LED indicator] lights solid then blinks again. All nodes are restored to factory settings. Note: After resetting and reconfiguring the primary node, power off the secondary nodes to prevent display abnormalities in the App.
Q4: Cannot Connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi
Ensure your 5GHz band is enabled and not hidden. Check status via ROCK WIFI app > 'More Setting' > 'NETWORK SETTINGS' > 'MAIN WIFI SETTING'. Turn on the 5GHz band if it's off. Also, ensure your devices support 5GHz signals.
Q5: App Cannot Recognize or Connect to Device
First, ensure your Ethernet cable with Internet connection is securely plugged into the [WAN port], not the [LAN port]. Second, verify the mesh system is set up correctly according to this Quick Installation Guide.
