Tools Required

Note: Assembly can be done with manual tools only, but it will take longer.

Important: The printer body cannot be disassembled from the legs. Incorrect assembly may affect printer functionality.

Unpacking and Initial Setup

Follow these steps carefully to unpack and prepare the printer for assembly:

  1. Remove the back protective plastic sheet.
  2. Carefully cut the green box straps and remove the corner posts.
  3. Lift the box and remove it from the pallet.

Rotating the Printer

The printer needs to be rotated onto its back for certain assembly steps. This process requires assistance:

  1. Cut the 2 horizontal straps securing the printer. Ensure nothing falls from the pallet.
  2. Remove the wooden stops from the front and back of the printer.
  3. Remove protective plastic sheeting and fix the white caps onto the printer. Ensure 1 cap is on one side and 2 on the other.
  4. Rotate the printer onto its back. This requires approximately 5 people: 3 at the back and 2 at the front (one person with a foot on each wheel for stability).

Assemble the Stand

The stand provides a stable base for the printer.

  1. Ensure all stand screws are tightened to the recommended torque of 250 dN·m (2.8 N·m).
  2. Lay the printer on the ground.
  3. Cup the straps to prepare for removal.
  4. Remove the pallet.
  5. Remove the 2 white caps.
  6. Remove the 2 wooden caps, each secured with 2 x 125 screws.
  7. Take the Hardware Kit (Part Number YOUZ160535) from the right leg packaging (YOUZ1-60485) for assembling the legs and crossbars.
  8. Remove the plastic bags from both legs.
  9. Install the left leg under the shoulder screw. Do not fully tighten the screw yet.
  10. Remove the 2 sway bar holders and extension legs from their box.
  11. Fix the bottom of the left leg with a shoulder screw.
  12. Install the sway bar holders at the top and bottom of both legs, securing each with one screw.
  13. On the right side, install a normal screw and then install the right leg.
  14. Take the 3 crossbars and screws from the box.
  15. Take the longest crossbar and place it into the right leg slot.
  16. Fix the right leg with 3 more screws (4 screws total).
  17. Move the left leg out and place the other end of the crossbar into the left leg slot.
  18. Install the sway bars. Important: The head of the center screw must face upwards.
  19. Move the crossbar to the bottom of both legs.
  20. Start with the right leg and fix both sway bars with 2 black screws each.
  21. Important: Check that all stand screws are fully tightened.
  22. Place the stand wheels in the position shown. Important: Ensure the brakes are ON.

Final Printer Assembly and Connections

Complete the assembly by attaching remaining components and making necessary connections.

  1. Carefully lift the printer upright. This requires assistance: 3 people at the back and 2 at the front.
  2. Remove the 2 foam end caps and the plastic covering from the printer.
  3. Remove all orange tapes from the printer.
  4. Raise the curing module.
  5. Remove all tapes from the printer body.
  6. Remove the tape from the cutter. Caution: Be careful when removing tape from the cutter as it may be adhered to the platen and the plastic cutter guide. Do not remove the plastic guide when peeling the tape off the platen.
  7. Open the carriage cover.
  8. Rotate the orange piece clockwise and remove it. Important: Keep this piece for future transport.
  9. Remove the screw from the orange pin.
  10. Slide the carriage to the right and remove the strap.
  11. Check that the primer modules are firmly in place.
  12. Close the carriage cover.
  13. Lower the curing module.
  14. Put the take-up reel support into place.
  15. Fix the take-up reel supports with 4 screws each, following the indicated order. Repeat the same process for the left take-up reel support.
  16. Open the box and remove the take-up reel.
  17. Fix the take-up reel supports as labeled (left/left, right/right).
  18. Remove the cover from below the right leg.
  19. Connect the take-up reel to the corresponding connector.
  20. Secure the cables by placing them into the white colored top pins and rotating the pins to fix the cable properly.
  21. Put the water bottle holder into place and fix it to the bottom of the left leg with 3 screws.
  22. Place the tube holder on top of the bottle holder.
  23. Connect the condensation collector cap to the tube.
  24. Place the condensation collector into the holder and connect the tube.
  25. Take the white ink module (for HP Latex 700W Printer only) to be installed on the right-hand side of the printer.
  26. Connect the white module.
  27. Connect the blue water tube.
  28. Connect the wheel and presence cable to the white module entry point.
  29. Put the lateral cover back onto the module and fix it with the 3 screws removed earlier.
  30. Move the printer to its final location.
  31. Connect LAN and power cord cables to the printer and curing unit. Important: Ensure the building's electrical system meets the printer's requirements. Refer to the Site Preparation Guide for details.
  32. Switch on the printer at the back.
  33. Install the 2 extension feet onto the front of the legs and fix with 2 screws per foot.
  34. Ensure the printer is standing on the front feet, not the front wheels. The wheels should just touch the ground.

Post-Assembly and Registration

Complete the installation and register your printer.

  1. Use the HP PrintOS Service Center Mobile Application to complete the End of Installation and register the printer in PrintOS.
  2. After the report is submitted, a confirmation message with warranty validation information will be sent to you.

Use the Quick Guide for training topics and leave it installed on the computer for future reference. The installer must submit the End of Installation Report to register the printer and confirm its warranty.
