Introduction
The AD8-MF is a keypad standalone access control reader. It supports 1500 users and the 13.56MHz Mifare card (UID 7 bytes, 4 bytes, Plus). Access can be granted via card, PIN, or a combination of card and PIN. The device features admin add/delete cards, door detection, an external alarm, and a Wiegand input/output interface.
It is waterproof, conforming to IP67 standards. With Wiegand input & output, it can function as a standalone unit, a slave reader, or an access controller. Admin cards allow for quick user addition and deletion.

Installation
Follow these steps for installation:
- Remove the back cover from the unit using a screw.
- Drill holes on the wall according to the back cover's size and fix the back cover to the wall.
- Thread the cables through the cable hole and connect them. Insulate any unused cables with insulating tape.
- After wiring, install the front casing and secure it to the back cover with screws.

Wire Color Function Notes
- White: D0 (Wiegand output/input Data0)
- Yellow & Black: D1 (Wiegand output/input Data1)
- Grey & Black: ALARM- (Alarm Negative)
- Brown: D_IN (Door Contact)
- Yellow: OPEN (Request to Exit Button)
- Red: DC+ (10-24V DC Power Input)
- Black: GND (Negative Pole)
- Blue: NO (Relay NO)
- Purple: COM (Relay COM)
- Orange: NC (Relay NC)
Doorbell Wiring:
Connect the external bell to the BELL terminals.
Electric Lock Connection:
Electric locks must be connected with a diode (1N4004) for protection. Connect the white end of the diode to the positive pole of the electric lock and the other end to the negative pole.
Standalone Mode Operation
Enter Program Mode:
- Keystroke Combination: (Admin Code) # *
- Default Admin Code: 777777
- LED Indication: Red light shines
Exit Program Mode:
- Keystroke Combination: (Admin Code) # *
- LED Indication: Orange light bright
Factory Default Setting and Add Admin Cards:
To reset to factory defaults and add admin cards:
- Power off the device.
- Press and hold the 'Exit' button while powering on.
- Release the button when two beeps are heard, and the red LED turns orange.
- Swipe the first card (Admin Add Card), then the second card (Admin Delete Card).
- The device will enter standby mode with the red light bright.
If admin cards are not needed, press 'Exit' and power on, holding for over 10 seconds. User information is not deleted during a factory reset.

Add/Delete Users by Admin Cards (in standby mode):
Add Users:
- Step 1: Read Admin Add Card.
- Step 2: Read user cards (ID numbers are added sequentially).
- Step 3: Read Admin Add Card again to finish.
Delete Users:
- Step 1: Read Admin Delete Card.
- Step 2: Read user cards to delete.
- Step 3: Read Admin Delete Card again to finish.
User Operation:
How to Release the Door:
- Open door by card: Swipe Card ▶️
- Open by PIN: Input PIN # ▶️
- Open door by card + PIN: Swipe Card Input PIN # ▶️
Change PIN:
- Change independent PIN (by ID): (ID number) # (Old PIN) # (New PIN) # (Repeat New PIN) #
- Change PIN attached to card users: (Read Card) # (Old PIN) # (New PIN) # (Repeat New PIN) #
Note: The PIN cannot be "1234". The PIN attached to the card is only for card + PIN access mode.
Add Anti-duress Users:
- Add Anti-duress Card: 7 (Read Card)
- Add Anti-duress PIN: 7 User ID# (4-6 digits PIN)#
Note: If under threat, swiping the Anti-duress card or inputting the Anti-duress PIN will open the door and activate an external alarm.
Wiegand Reader Mode
When the device is used as a slave reader, the Wiegand output format for cards is 26 bits or 34 bits, and for PINs is 4 bits.
Set Wiegand Output Formats:
- Wiegand 34: 8 (0-3) # (Factory default is 80#)
- Wiegand 26: 8 (0-3) # (Factory default is 80#)

Door Detection and Safe Mode Settings
Door Detection:
- Enable: 5 1 #
- Disable: 5 0 # (Factory Default)
When enabled, if a door opened by a valid user is not closed within 1 minute, the device will beep. If the door is forced open, the device and external alarm will activate. Alarms can be stopped by closing the door, using a valid user credential, or after the alarm time expires.
Safe Mode:
- Close Safe Mode: 6 0 # (Factory default)
- Lockout Mode: 6 1 # (If invalid users are entered 10 times in 1 minute, the device locks out for 10 minutes)
- Alarm Mode: 6 2 # (If invalid users are entered 10 times in 1 minute, the device alarms)
Alarm Output Time Setting: Range 0-3 minutes (factory default is 1 minute).
