How to extend the life of your Manual Press

Top Tips CRITICAL INFORMATION for your TQB Brands Borum and TradeQuip Manual Press
This document covers the following models. 1061T, 1062T, 1063T, 1064T, BHSP20T, BHSP30T.

SETTING UP AND OPERATIONAL AND PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
· Ensure that the press is situated on a flat level surface with base frame feet in full contact with the floor.

· Where sufficient force cannot be developed to complete a pressing job requiring a higher capacity than the press output, do not force the ram by over pressurising the pump pedal or hand piece.
· Always raise the press bed so the workpiece is as close to the fully retracted ram load cap as possible to minimise overstroke.

· Once the press is positioned, we recommend using suitable fasteners to attach the press feet to your flat floor to prevent movement of the press during all operational procedures.
Hydraulic Safety Measures.
· Never touch or handle a pressurised hydraulic hose or pressurised hydraulic coupler. These must always be securely tightened & fastened before pressurising.

· Always ensure that all compatible pushing adaptors supplied for the press ram have been correctly attached to the ram output shaft to provide lateral stability and prevent damage to the ram.

· Never exceed the maximum hydraulic pressure range as defined by the rated capacity label and the red line or coloured warning section on the applicable press gauge.
Note: Where no gauge is present the Tradequip bottle jack presses are governed by a safety valve to prevent over pressure.

· Where supplied or available as an accessory you should always use a safety cage during pressing operations.
· Keep your press bed and bed blocks clean to ensure firm job contact between Bed, Bed Blocks and Ram Load Cap.
· When not in use
keep your press ram fully retracted to prevent corrosion and contamination ingress.
