Camera Location Tips
- Consider what you want to monitor and where you'll get the best view.
- Plan how you'll connect the camera to your monitoring system, ensuring cables and connections are kept out of the weather.
- Position the camera out of harm's way, ideally at an elevated location.
- Place the camera as close to the area of interest as practicable, approximately 13ft/4m above, looking slightly down for detailed views.
- Minimize sky in the camera's view, as bright daylight can darken the foreground image.
- Focus on the most likely approach routes for potential intruders to maximize coverage.
- The camera casing is resistant to weather and tampering, but prolonged exposure to adverse conditions like direct sunlight or excessive moisture may affect performance.
- Run cables inside wall cavities or protected enclosures, ensuring all wiring and connectors are insulated and protected from moisture.
- Avoid placing cables near live electrical wiring, as AC electricity can generate radio "noise" that interferes with the camera's signal.
