Camera Location Tips

  1. Consider what you want to monitor and where you'll get the best view.
  2. Plan how you'll connect the camera to your monitoring system, ensuring cables and connections are kept out of the weather.
  3. Position the camera out of harm's way, ideally at an elevated location.
  4. Place the camera as close to the area of interest as practicable, approximately 13ft/4m above, looking slightly down for detailed views.
  5. Minimize sky in the camera's view, as bright daylight can darken the foreground image.
  6. Focus on the most likely approach routes for potential intruders to maximize coverage.
  7. The camera casing is resistant to weather and tampering, but prolonged exposure to adverse conditions like direct sunlight or excessive moisture may affect performance.
  8. Run cables inside wall cavities or protected enclosures, ensuring all wiring and connectors are insulated and protected from moisture.
  9. Avoid placing cables near live electrical wiring, as AC electricity can generate radio "noise" that interferes with the camera's signal.
