Introduction
Thank you for purchasing an MC-DC3 remote cord. This product is designed for use with Nikon mirrorless cameras equipped with a headphone/remote cord connector. The MC-DC3 allows for remote camera operation, ideal for close-up shots or situations where camera movement can cause blur. It also enables holding the shutter-release button for long exposures (bulb mode) and burst photography.

Connecting the MC-DC3
The illustration shows connection to a Z50II camera.
- Turn the camera off.
- Open the cover protecting the camera's microphone and headphone/remote cord connectors.
- Insert the remote cord plug into the camera's headphone/remote cord connector (as shown in Figure 2). Do not use force or insert at an angle.
- Turn the camera on.
Using the MC-DC3
The shutter-release button on the MC-DC3 functions identically to the camera's shutter-release button, whether pressed halfway or fully. Refer to your camera's documentation for details. The camera's exposure display and other features will operate as usual when using the MC-DC3.
The shutter-release button can be locked in the fully pressed position by sliding the lock to the HOLD position (Figure 3). Slide it in the opposite direction to unlock.
Precautions for Use
- Connect the MC-DC3 only to the camera's headphone/remote cord connector. It will not function if connected to the external microphone input connector.
- Do not connect or disconnect the MC-DC3 while the camera is on to prevent malfunction.
- Ensure the plug is securely connected for trouble-free operation.
- Do not carry the camera by the MC-DC3 or subject the camera or cord to physical shocks while connected, as this may cause the cord to disconnect.
