Installation This sect ion will guide you t o inst all t he AP t hrough hardware / wall-mount ing connect ion. For hardware connect ion, ref er t o t he f ollowing st eps t o connect your devices correct ly. 1. Connect VigorAP 906 t o xDSL modem, rout er, or swit ch/ hub in your net work t hrough t he LAN B port of t he access point by Et hernet cable. You can also connect VigorAP 906 t o a Vigor rout er via wireless connect ion. For det ailed inf ormat ion, ref er t o VigorAP 906 User' s Guide. 2. Connect a comput er t o ot her available LAN A port . Make sure t he subnet IP address of t he PC is t he same as VigorAP 906 management IP, e. g. , 192. 168. 1. X. 3. Connect t he A/ C power adapt er t o t he wall socket , and t hen connect it t o t he PWR connect or of t he access point . 4. Power on VigorAP 906. 5. Check all LEDs on t he f ront and back panel. The ACT LED on t he f ront panel should blink; WAN/ LAN LED on t he back panel shoul d be on if t he access point is correct ly connect ed t o t he xDSL modem, rout er or swit ch/ hub. 4 For wall-mount ing, ref er t o t he f ollowing st eps. 1. Drill t wo holes on t he wall. The dist ance bet ween t he holes shall be 100. 75mm. The recommended drill diamet er shall be 6. 5mm (1/ 4" ). 2. Fit screws int o t he wall using t he appropriat e t ype of screw plug. 3. Hang t he VigorAP direct ly ont o t he screws. 5 4. Connection and Configuration This sect ion will guide you t o conf igure AP set t ings t o est ablish wireless net work t hrough a web browser. 1. Make sure your PC connect s t o t he device correct ly. 2. Open a web browser on your PC and t ype http:/ / 192. 168. 1. 2. A pop-up window will open t o ask f or username and password. Pease t ype " admin/ admin" on Username/ Password and click Login. Not e You may eit her simply set up your comput er t o get IP dynamically f rom t he rout er or set up t he IP address of t he comput er t o be in t he same subnet as the IP address of VigorAP 906. If t here is no DHCP server on t he net work, t hen VigorAP 906 will have an IP address of 192. 168. 1. 2. If t here is DHCP available on t he net work, t hen VigorAP 906 will receive it s IP address via t he DHCP server. If you connect t o VigorAP by wireless LAN, you could t ry t o access t he web user int erf ace t hrough ht t p: / / vigorap. com. 6 Connected As a Mesh Node (in Mesh Netw ork) Inst all VigorAP on t he place you want . As a mesh node, set t ings relat ed t o VigorAP 906 must be conf igured by a remot e Mesh Root (e. g. , VigorAP 906) wit hin t he mesh net work. The user must det ect VigorAP 906 via a Mesh Root t o add it as a mesh node. Connected As an Access Point As an access point , VigorAP 906 must be connect ed t o a rout er and conf igured t he operat ion mode. Connect VigorAP t o a Vigor rout er. Use a t wist ed-pair cable wit h RJ-45 plugs at bot h ends, and plug int o Et hernet device (e. g. , Vigor rout er) and Et hernet port of VigorAP. 7 There are two methods t o conf igure VigorAP. Method 1: (a) First , open a web browser on your PC and t ype https:/ / 192. 168. 1. 2. A pop-up window will open t o ask f or username and password. (b) Af t er clicking Login, Quick Start Wizard f or conf iguring wireless set t ings will appear as f ollows. (c) Follow t he on-screen st eps t o f inish t he net work connect ion. 8 Method 2: (a) Use a mobile phone t o scan t he QR code named wit h DrayTek Wireless App t o download DrayTek Wireless APP. (b) Af t er downloading, run t he APP. (c) From t he home page, click t he Connect icon t o access t he Connect page. Next , press t he QR code icon next t o Scan QR Code on your phone screen t o open t he camera. Scan t he QR code named wit h Connect SSID t o access t he web user int erf ace (conf igurat ion wizard) of VigorAP 906. (For iOS users, t he SSID and t he password will be shown f irst . Simply click t he Connect but t on t o access t he web user int erf ace of VigorAP. ) 9 5.
