Important Safety Information
Read and Understand Owner's Manual Before Riding
Read this entire Owner's Manual before your first ride and keep it for reference. It contains vital safety, performance, and service information. The latest version is available at lectricebikes.com/manual. Bicycling involves inherent risks. By riding, you assume responsibility for understanding and practicing safe riding, proper use, and maintenance. Proper use and maintenance reduce injury risk. Consult your local bicycle shop or Lectric eBikes if you have questions or do not understand any aspect of using or maintaining your bike. This manual is not a comprehensive service or repair guide; consult your local bicycle shop for all service needs.
Your Lectric eBike is classified as an EPAC (Electrically Power Assisted Cycle), referred to as a bicycle in this manual unless otherwise noted.
Rider's Responsibility Regarding Regulations
It is your responsibility to obey all applicable local regulations for your Lectric eBike. These vary by state and municipality regarding rider age, license, insurance, traffic laws, and speed limits. Regulations may change at any time.
Intended Use
The Lectric eBike is intended for use by one adult rider (age 18+) for general transportation and recreational use. Any other use is prohibited and may result in SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH. It is NOT intended for off-road, mountain biking, or jumping. Suspension features are for comfort, not off-road capability. Riders should be proficient cyclists (18+), riding on paved surfaces, roadways, or bicycle-only lanes. Do not use the bicycle to tow another bicycle. Consult this manual and trailer manuals for towing instructions.
Safety Messages
⚠️ WARNING! To prevent serious injury or death:

Correct seat adjustment is crucial for performance and comfort. If the seat position is uncomfortable, consult your local bicycle shop.
To achieve correct seat height:
- Sit on the seat.
- Place one heel on a pedal.
- Rotate the crank until the pedal with your heel is in the lowest position (crank arm parallel to the seat tube).
If your leg is not completely straight, adjust the seat height. If your hips rock to reach the pedal, the seat is too high. If your leg is bent at the knee with your heel on the pedal, the seat is too low.
To adjust seat height:
- Loosen the seat post clamp (open position shown on left, closed on right).
- Raise or lower the seat post in the seat tube.
- Ensure the seat is straight before and after adjustment.
- Re-tighten the seat post clamp to the recommended torque (see "Tightening Torque" on page 27).
Adjust Seat Position
⚠️ WARNING! Always tighten fasteners to the correct torque to prevent serious injury or death. Bolts that are too tight can stretch and deform. Bolts that are too loose can move and fatigue. Either condition can lead to a sudden failure of the bolt and result in a crash. See "Tightening Torque" on page 27.
Front and Back Adjustment
Loosen nuts on both sides of the seat. Ensure the clamp mechanism grips the straight part of the seat rails, not the curved part. Use the recommended torque on the clamping fastener(s).
Seat Angle Adjustment
Most prefer a horizontal seat, but you may angle the nose slightly up or down. Loosen the clamp bolt to disengage serrations before changing the angle, and re-engage them fully before tightening to the recommended torque.
Charge Battery Before First Use
Locate the charging port on the side of the battery pack. Use this port to charge the battery whether it's installed or not. Fully charge your battery before your first ride.

Overview
When does the Pedal Assist activate?
Pedal Assist (PAS) activates only when you are pedaling. Motor output depends on pedaling and set PAS level. PAS automatically switches off at the maximum speed (up to 28 mph). It becomes available again when speed drops below the maximum. You can use the eBike as a normal bicycle by switching the power OFF or setting PAS to 0. PAS will not function if the battery needs charging. The display automatically shuts down after 10 minutes of inactivity, disabling PAS and throttle features.
Pedal Assist and Shifting Gears
Shift gears like a normal bicycle. Selecting the proper gear improves speed and range for the same pedaling effort. Test your eBike's range under various conditions before longer trips.
Display Functions
⚠️ WARNING! To prevent serious injury or death:

Carrying a Passenger
⚠️ WARNING!
- Do not exceed the rear cargo rack or optional console attachment load limit. The XPedition 1.0 rear cargo rack is rated for a maximum of 300 lbs (136 kg) of total cargo, regardless of third-party accessory ratings. Exceeding this limit can damage the bike, property, cargo, and cause serious injury or death.
- Passenger foot platforms are for footrests only while seated. Passengers must keep feet on platforms when the bike is in motion. If a passenger cannot maintain contact, they should use an appropriate child seat or not ride as a passenger. Misuse of foot platforms can cause damage, injury, or death.
- MUST hold onto the Lectric XPedition 1.0 when loading cargo or passengers. The kickstand is not for loading cargo. Do not assume stability when using the kickstand. Always hold the bike when loading or attaching cargo.
- Ensure passengers or cargo do not interfere with safe operation. Failure to do so can cause damage, injury, or death.
⚠️ WARNING! Check regulations regarding carrying children, passengers, or cargo. Follow these tips for safe passenger operation:
- A passenger incapable of riding alone should not ride as a passenger. Use parental judgment for child safety.
- When carrying a passenger, ensure a passenger foot platform, appropriate seat, and rear fender are installed to keep passenger's hands and feet clear of moving wheels.
- Follow stated weight limits; do not overload.
- Increased passenger weight increases braking distance. Plan stops and ensure brakes are properly adjusted and applied.
- Ensure rider and passenger wear properly fitted helmets.
- Hold the bike when loading cargo/passengers. Ensure passenger sits over or forward of the rear wheel.
- Do not allow passengers to sit sideways, backward, stand, or kneel on the cargo rack or foot platform.
- Ensure passengers are safely seated before riding. Passengers should sit over/forward of the rear axle, hold onto passenger handlebars or rider's hips/waist, and keep feet on platforms.
- Instruct passengers to brace for bumps and be prepared for turns and braking, as they cannot see ahead.
⚠️ WARNING! It is the user's responsibility to ensure passengers are experienced and fit enough to ride safely. Inexperience, poor health, or intoxication can impact passenger safety, potentially causing serious injury or death.
Carrying
Use certified and approved child seats/equipment when carrying a child. A child under four or incapable of riding independently should only ride in a properly fitted and approved child safety seat. The XPedition 1.0 rear cargo rack has "Yepp windows" for the Thule Yepp Maxi Easyfit child carrier. For installation instructions, safety notices, and operation tips for the Thule Yepp Maxi Easyfit, visit thule.com and contact Lectric eBikes.
⚠️ WARNING! Children too large or heavy for the Thule Yepp Maxi Easyfit carrier must have legs long enough to always touch the foot pegs. If they cannot, they should not ride as a passenger. Injury or death can occur if clothing or body parts contact the rear wheel.
A Note for Parents and Guardians
You are responsible for your child's activities and safety. The Lectric XPedition is not designed for operation by anyone under 18. If carrying a child in a safety seat, ensure they wear a helmet. See the Helmet section for more information.
Your First Ride
eBike acceleration may be faster than anticipated. For your first ride, use the lowest pedal assist level (PAS 1) and familiarize yourself with operation in a safe, open environment away from others. Pay attention to terrain conditions, as you may approach obstacles faster than expected.
Pedal Assist may activate as soon as you step on the pedals and the bike moves. ALWAYS be seated, engage at least one brake before pedaling. DO NOT place one foot on a pedal and swing the other leg over; the eBike could accelerate unexpectedly.
- To start: Insert key and turn counterclockwise to ON (parallel with frame). Hold the POWER button on the left handlebar until the display turns on. Select PAS level (0=no assist, 1=lowest, 5=highest).

Battery Pack
Lectric eBikes battery packs are lithium-ion, developed and manufactured to the latest technology and safety standards. Lithium-ion batteries store significant energy. Faults, though rare and not always externally detectable, can under unfavorable conditions lead to fire. Handle and charge batteries with care; failure to follow guidelines can cause damage or injury. Contact Lectric eBikes with any battery safety questions.
Your eBike battery must not be opened, even for repairs. Opening risks fire from short circuits, especially if reused later. Do not attempt repairs; replace with an original Lectric eBike battery pack.
The battery has Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) against deep discharge, overloading, overheating, and short-circuiting. A protective circuit switches the battery off if a fault occurs.

Storing
Charging Battery Pack Before and During Storage
For storage of weeks or months, remove the battery and store at ~60% charge (indicated by the Energy Bar). This charge level minimizes degradation. Check charge every 2-3 months and recharge to 60% if needed.
Note: Storing a battery with no charge for an extended period may cause damage and reduce capacity.
For optimum service life, charge the battery to 100% a few hours before riding. If the charge level drops to 50% but you plan to ride again soon, wait until the day before to charge to 100%.
DO NOT charge battery unattended or leave connected to charger overnight. Leaving it connected permanently is not recommended.
Battery capacity diminishes with age and will eventually need replacement. Significantly reduced operating time after charging indicates wear. You can purchase replacement batteries from Lectric eBikes.
Storage Conditions
Store the battery pack in a dry, well-ventilated place, protected from moisture and water. Store in a location with a smoke alarm, away from flammable objects and heat sources.
For optimum service life, store between 50°F and 68°F. Never store below 14°F or above 140°F.
Do not exceed maximum storage temperature. Do not leave the battery in a car during summer. Store away from direct sunlight.
NOTE: Long-term storage with the battery installed on the bicycle is not recommended.
