Product Overview
This is an all-flash storage system equipped with SSDs, designed for small to medium-sized businesses. It comes standard with four ports that can be used for iSCSI or 16Gb FC. It utilizes the robust proprietary OS "SANtricity," which has over 20 years of history and numerous shipments, providing optimal performance at an affordable price. It is a block storage solution.

The ETERNUS AB2100 achieves outstanding IOPS performance and low latency, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. It can be used from small-scale DAS environments to SAN environments requiring large capacities for big data analytics and large-scale data processing.
Simple Operation and Management
The standard SANtricity System Manager allows for construction and deployment without complex management. Integrated GUI-based performance tools enable users to view critical storage I/O information from various perspectives. This facilitates informed configuration adjustments to further enhance performance. Additionally, using SANtricity Unified Manager or SANtricity Storage Manager allows for more flexible operation and management.
Key Features
Redundancy Mechanism with Excellent Availability and Manageability
The system supports common RAID levels such as RAID 0/1/10/5/6 for combining multiple SSDs. It also features DDP (Dynamic Drive Pool), a key characteristic of this product. DDP, with its thin provisioning, offers redundancy equivalent to RAID 6 and can withstand simultaneous failures of up to two drives. Unlike traditional RAID, it does not require dedicated parity or spare drives; instead, these roles are distributed across all drives in the DDP. This significantly reduces rebuild times (up to 1/8th) and mitigates the risk of data loss from multiple failures, as well as performance degradation during rebuilds. With the increasing capacity of individual drives, DDP provides a level of protection and manageability that traditional RAID cannot match, considering availability, performance, and ease of management.
Suppression of Initial Investment and Reduction of Operating Costs
The thin provisioning feature virtualizes storage resources, suppressing the use of unused drives. This leads to a reduction in initial investment and operating costs. Furthermore, the use of SSDs, which offer higher reliability and performance than HDDs, contributes to reducing installation space and power consumption.

In addition to backup functions like Snapshot and Remote Replication, cloud backup is also supported. By using the free SANtricity Cloud Connector, flexible and cost-effective backup and recovery can be achieved.

Fast Backup and Recovery
The Snapshot feature allows for instantaneous backup of volume images at a specific point in time. Up to 512 snapshots can be acquired daily, enabling quick restoration in case of accidental data deletion. The system also includes a function to create a full copy to a separate volume within the same enclosure. In the event of multiple drive failures, this allows for immediate use of a complete backup copy without the need for a restore operation, paving the way for rapid business continuity.

From the perspective of physical disaster countermeasures and business continuity, remote replication to a separate volume within the enclosure or to a different enclosure is an optimal solution. In the event of an incident, a complete backup copy can be immediately used without a restore operation, ensuring rapid business continuity.
