TRACK SETTINGS

RIDE HEIGHT

Use the spring adjusters on the shock absorbers to adjust the front and rear ride heights. Recommended settings: 5.0mm on carpet/high traction tarmac, 5.5mm on tarmac/low traction carpet. Measured between the bottom of the chassis and the ground with the car in running trim. Press the car down and release to settle suspension before adjusting. General guidelines: High traction/Smooth tracks = Lower ride height (5.1mm-5.4mm); Low traction/Bumpy tracks = Higher ride height (5.4mm-6.0mm).

TRACK WIDTH

Track width can be adjusted using different hex widths or shims (e.g., U8333 - Wheel hex spacers, U4577 - Alloy wheel hex). Increasing rear track width provides more rear stability/less rotation. Increasing front track width provides a less aggressive feel/less rotation. A wider car suits high traction; a narrower car suits low traction.

WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION

Weight can be placed in the front and rear of the car (use U8773 for this). For neutral balance, aim for 50:50 distribution with centrally placed electronics. More rearward weight generally gives a more aggressive car with more steering. More forward weight gives smoother handling with less steering, making the car easier to drive in higher grip conditions.

SHOCK ANGLES

Shock angles fine-tune suspension stiffness. More angled shocks (lower mount holes) create a softer, less responsive setup (high traction). More upright shocks (higher mount holes) create a stiffer, more responsive setup (low traction).

GEAR DIFF

Gear diff oil viscosity affects handling. High traction conditions generally require thicker oil (2k-5k), while low traction conditions require thinner oil (1K-2K). Thicker oil provides smoother off-power, corner entry, preventing over-rotation and reducing sliding. It can increase on-power steering, potentially causing oversteer. Thinner oil creates more aggressive corner entry and more off-power steering, with less on-power steering but easier power application without oversteering.

DIFF/SPOOL HEIGHT

The low diff or spool position provides more grip at that end of the car and suits low or medium traction conditions. Low diff is indicated by the white circular marker facing downwards. The high diff or spool position is suggested only for very high grip conditions, indicated by the white circular marker facing upwards.

DROOP

Suggested starting point: 22.4mm rear, 23mm front (measured using Aerox droop gauge set AX015). This is the measurement between the chassis underside and the axle center. Droop is adjusted using the grub screw. A range between 20mm and 24mm is suggested, depending on track conditions. Lower droop numbers give more grip; front and rear can be adjusted separately for balance.

LOWER WISHBONE SPACERS

The kit setting is 1.0mm under all 8 wishbone lower balls. Increasing arm height increases roll centers; decreasing arm height decreases roll centers. Increased roll centers help the car be free and rotate more, useful for high traction or understeer. Decreasing roll centers make the car more stable and easier to drive, but can cause excessive understeer on high grip tracks. Anti-dive improves corner entry stability at lower speeds by using a smaller washer at the front arms, creating a downward angle.

SHOCK OIL

Shock oil viscosity improves handling over bumps and controls weight transfer. For bumpy tracks, increase viscosity. For low traction, lower viscosity to improve weight transfer and grip. For high traction, increase viscosity for smoother, less unpredictable handling. In higher temperatures, increase oil viscosity to maintain damping consistency. Suggested range: 300cSt to 500cSt with kit pistons and standard 1.1mm piston holes. Larger holes may require thicker oil; 3-hole pistons need larger holes for similar ratings.

BODY HEIGHT

Height 'A' is set by adjusting body hangers (1 dot = lowest, 3 dots = highest). For big adjustments, move the pin up or down a hole; for smaller adjustments, change the hanger. Recommended starting height at 'B' is 7mm. On bumpy tracks, increase this to prevent the bodyshell from catching. A rear wing height of 115mm from the floor to the rear wing is recommended when the car is in race trim.

ANTI-ROLL BARS

Anti-roll bars tune roll stiffness and weight transfer. A stiffer rear bar reduces entry steering but increases on-power steering. A stiffer front bar increases entry steering but provides smoother mid-corner handling. Set bars equally left to right by adjusting drop link ball height. With shocks off, check the roll bar lifts the opposite side equally when lifted. Use a tool like AX015.

CAMBER

Aim for correct camber for the tyre and track conditions, typically between -1.0° and -2.5°. Increasing front and rear camber together often results in more traction but a more sudden loss of grip. Less overall camber offers a more progressive slide but may have less overall grip. More camber at the front or rear usually results in more grip at that end. Team suggestion: 2.0° Rear and 1.5° Front, increasing to 2° Front if more front grip/steering is required.

OPTION PARTS

A selection of optional upgrade parts are available to enhance performance and customization. These include alloy and carbon fibre components, titanium screws, and specialized hardware. Examples include:
