Installation
Proper installation is crucial for safe and efficient operation.
- Handling and installation require two or more persons due to the appliance's weight. Use protective gloves to avoid cuts during unpacking and installation.
- If stacking a dryer on top of the washing machine, contact help.Kogan.com to confirm compatibility.
- Do not lift or move the appliance using the worktop or top lid.
- Keep children away from the installation site. After unpacking, check the appliance for transport damage. Do not operate if damaged; contact help.Kogan.com.
- Store packaging waste (plastic, Styrofoam) out of reach of children to prevent suffocation.
- The appliance must be disconnected from the power supply before any installation operation to prevent electric shock.
- During installation, ensure the power cable is not damaged, to avoid fire or electric shock.
- Only turn on and operate the appliance after installation is complete.
- Do not install the appliance in extreme conditions: poor ventilation, temperatures below 5°C or above 35°C.
- Ensure the four feet are stable and rest on the floor. Adjust them as needed and check the appliance is level using a spirit level.
- For wood or "floating" floors, secure a 60 x 60 x 3cm sheet of plywood to the floor before placing the appliance.
- For cold fill only models, do not connect to the hot water supply.
- For models with hot fill, the hot water inlet temperature must not exceed 60°C.
- The washing machine is fitted with transport bolts to prevent internal damage during transport. These bolts must be removed before use. Cover the openings with the 4 enclosed plastic caps after removal.
- After installation, wait a few hours for the appliance to acclimate to the room's environmental conditions before starting.
- Ensure ventilation openings in the base are not obstructed by carpets or other materials.
- The supply water pressure must be in the 0.03-1 MPa range.
Risk of Injury and Damage
- Improper handling can result in injury. The appliance is heavy; always use assistance for transport.
- Clear obstacles from the transport route and installation location (e.g., open doors, floor objects).
- Do not use the open door as a handhold.
- Remove all packaging materials before use.
- Inspect the appliance for visible external damage before setup. Do not install or use damaged appliances.
Installation Position
- Avoid installing behind a locked door, sliding door, or door with hinges on the opposite side, as this may restrict full door opening.
- Ensure floor clearance is not obstructed by deep pile carpets or similar objects, which can cause heat build-up and interfere with operation.
- Install in a clean area where dirt does not accumulate. Ensure sufficient air circulation around the appliance. Avoid obstructing front air inlets or rear air intake grilles.
- Place on a firm and level surface to minimize vibration and noise during dryer operation.
- Never remove the appliance's feet; they are essential for stability.
- Install on a hard, flat, and skidproof ground. Do not place on soft carpet, wooden floors, platforms, or brackets.
Remove the Transit Bolts
To protect the machine during transportation, four bolts are located on the rear. These must be removed before operation.
- Unscrew the four transit bolts using the supplied spanner.
- Fit the four caps over the bolt holes.
- Store the transit bolts; they will be required when transporting the appliance.
Diagram Description: An illustration showing the rear of the washing machine with three steps indicated for removing transit bolts: 1. Unscrewing a bolt with a spanner. 2. Fitting a cap into a bolt hole. 3. Storing the bolts. Another diagram shows the base of the machine with 'Base protection' indicated.
Level Adjusting
Ensure the appliance is level for optimal performance.
- Once in its permanent operating position, check if the appliance is level using a spirit level or plumb line. The appliance is level if the frame line is parallel with the plumb line.
- To adjust the appliance, loosen the nut on the adjustable leg using the spanner and rotate the leg to raise or lower the appliance.
- Once level, retighten the nut.
- To check stability, place hands diagonally on the washer, press, and shake slightly.
Diagram Description: An illustration showing how to check if the appliance is level using a plumb line. Another diagram illustrates adjusting the feet: showing a 'Loosen' nut, 'Tighten' nut, and 'Down'/'Up' arrows for leg movement, with text 'Screw on the Lock nut by wrench'.
Connecting the Water Supply Hose
- Ensure the sealing washer is firmly seated.
- Attach the curved end of the hose to the inlet valve of the washing machine, tightening the coupling nuts securely by hand.
- Attach the straight end of the hose to the tap, tightening the coupling nuts securely by hand.
- Turn on the taps and check for leaks. Tighten coupling nuts firmly if any leakage occurs. If water pressure is too strong, close the water tap completely then open it slightly.
- Do not use water hotter than 50°C.
- If your faucet is not suitable, consult a licensed trade professional or contact help.Kogan.com for support.
Diagram Description: An illustration showing the connection of the water supply hose to a tap and the washing machine inlet valve. Labels include 'Tap', 'Sealing washer', 'Tap End', 'Inlet Hose', and 'Twist'.
Caution:
- This machine has both cold and hot water inlets. Do not mix the cold and hot water pipes, as this may cause damage or pose safety risks.
- If using cold water only (hot water alone is prohibited), use the valve cover to seal the hot water inlet to prevent leakage.
- The hot water supply temperature must not exceed 50°C to avoid damaging the washing machine.
Installing the Drain Hose
- When not in operation, the drain hose can be stored at the back of the washing machine.
- During operation, place the drain hose into a sink or drain no higher than 1200mm high.
Diagram Description: Two illustrations showing the drain hose. One shows it coiled at the back of the machine. The other shows it routed to a sink or drain, with a vertical line indicating a maximum height of 1200mm. 'Drain hose stay' is also indicated.
Note: Do not remove the drain hose stay; otherwise, it will lead to drainage problems.
Before First Use
- Ensure the four transit bolts have been removed. Leave the appliance to stand for at least 2 hours after transporting.
- Use a soft cloth to clean the inside drum.
- Place some clean rags into the drum.
- Connect the power cord and press the Power button.
- Select the 'Tub Clean' program before the first time washing.
- After this program finishes.
Note: During drying, the compressor and water will generate some noise, which is entirely normal.
- For consistent drying results, sort laundry by fabric type and select the appropriate drying program.
- Before drying, close zippers, hooks, eyelets, buttons, and tie fabric belts securely.
- Remove any objects from pockets, such as lighters and matches.
- Sew in or remove underwiring from bras before drying.
- Close duvet covers and pillowcases to prevent small items from getting rolled up inside them.
- Keep jackets open and unzip any long zippers to allow textiles to dry evenly.
- Avoid over-drying clothes, as excessive drying can lead to increased wrinkling.
- Do not dry items that contain rubber or similar elastic materials.
- Maintain cleanliness in the vicinity of the tumble dryer. Accumulation of coal dust or flour can pose an explosion risk.
- The door should only be opened after the tumble dryer's program has finished to prevent scalding from hot steam or an overheated drying machine.
- Clean the lint filter and empty the water tank after each use to prevent prolongation of drying time and excessive energy consumption.
- Do not dry clothes that have undergone dry-cleaning processes.
