How does the A. O. Smith X2 Water Purifier Work?

The A. O. Smith X2 water purifier uses a 5-stage purification system. Water passes through various stages, progressively filtered to produce purified water collected in an inbuilt storage tank. UV purification technology produces germ-free potable water.

  • Stage 1 - Sediment filter: Removes physical contaminants like dirt, dust, soil particles, and turbidity, improving the life of the Fine Sediment filter.
  • Stage 2 - Fine Sediment filter: Removes finer physical contaminants, improving the life of the Carbon block.
  • Stage 3 - Carbon block: Reduces harmful chemicals (pesticides, volatile organic compounds, residual chlorine) and adsorbs taste and odor-causing organic compounds.
  • Stage 4 - UV lamp: UV rays disinfect water by altering the DNA of microorganisms like bacteria and viruses, making it healthy for drinking.
  • Stage 5 - UF (Ultra Fine) filter: Removes deactivated microbial cells and cysts in the final stage.

Indicator Functions

The purifier features several indicators to display its status:

  • Power ON Indicator: Shows the system is ON/OFF. If blinking, check feed water supply.
  • Tank Full Indicator: Indicates the Water Purifier tank is full. NOTICE: Call A. O. Smith Customer Care Centre if the Tank Full and Power ON indicators blink continuously.
  • UV Lamp Indicator: Shows when the UV lamp is not functioning. NOTICE: Call A. O. Smith Customer Care Centre if the UV Lamp indicator blinks continuously.
  • Filter Change Indicator: Indicates that filters and UV lamp need replacement. It starts blinking when their life is reaching its end. When life ends, it keeps blinking, and the unit stops functioning. NOTICE: Call A. O. Smith Customer Care Centre to replace the filters and UV lamp. Note: Filters may require replacement before indicated, depending on feed water conditions.
