X-MAKER JOY Quick Guide
Your essential guide to getting started with the X-MAKER JOY 3D printer.

Printer Components Overview:
Familiarize yourself with the parts of your X-MAKER JOY:
- Print Head: Where the filament is extruded.
- Magnetic Base Plate: The build surface for your prints.
- Printing Platform: The base where the magnetic plate sits.
- Logo: Branding on the printer.
- Indicator Light: Shows the printer's status.
- Camera: For monitoring prints (if applicable).
- Extruder: Feeds filament into the hotend.
- Holder Placement: Where the filament spool holder attaches.
- Power Port: Connect the power adapter here.
- Ventilation Holes: For cooling.
- USB Port: For machine debugging.
- SD Card Slot: For machine debugging.
Note: The USB Port & SD Card Slot are for machine debugging only.
App Download and Installation
Download the X-MAKER App to control your printer:
- For Android Tablet / iPad / Smartphones: Visit www.aoseed.com/pages/apps-downloads or search "XMAKER" in Google Play or the App Store.
- For Windows PC: Visit www.aoseed.com/pages/apps-downloads.
X-PRINT: This is a 3D slicer software available exclusively for Windows.
Connect 3D Printer
Follow these steps to connect your X-MAKER JOY:
- Ensure your hands are dry. Take out the power adapter and connect it to the printer's Power Port. Switch on the "Power Switch".
- Open the X-MAKER App on your device and select "X-MAKER JOY".
- Long press the red "Reset Button" until you hear a beep. The indicator light will turn solid yellow.
- Enter your correct Wi-Fi password. Ensure your Wi-Fi network frequency is 2.4GHz, then tap "Connect".
Connection Troubleshooting:
If you encounter a "Connection Failed" message:
- Ensure the printer and your device are connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
- Try restarting the X-MAKER App or the printer and attempt connecting again.
How to Start
Install the Filament
Prepare your printer for printing by loading filament:
- Remove the protective foam from the nozzle.
- Insert the filament holder into its designated placement hole, and place the filament spool onto the holder.
- Push the orange handle upward slightly, then insert the filament tip into the extruder inlet until it enters the extruder.
- In the X-MAKER App, navigate to "Printer Settings" and select "Load". Click "Load". The nozzle will automatically heat up, and the filament will be loaded. Loading is complete when filament emerges from the nozzle.
Important: Cut the filament tip at an angle (aslant) and ensure it is straightened before loading.
Place the Base Plate
Ensure the magnetic base plate is clean, flat, and properly aligned with the printing platform.
Model Printing and Removal
Start printing your 3D models:
- The X-MAKER App offers easy one-click printing.
- Access pre-made models via "X-MAKER App > Things" for one-click printing.
- Design or customize your own models via "X-MAKER App > Theme (or Design)".
After printing, carefully remove the finished print and any support structures from the base plate.
Quick Swap Nozzle
Easily change the nozzle when needed:
- In the X-MAKER App, go to "Printer Settings" and select "Unload".
- Wait for the nozzle to cool down to below 45°C.
- Press the orange button and carefully remove the nozzle with a little force.
Indicator Light Status
Observe the indicator light on your X-MAKER JOY to understand its current status:
- Waiting for connection: The printer is ready to connect to a network.
- Connected to Wi-Fi: The printer has successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Printing in progress: The printer is currently executing a print job.
- Error: An issue has occurred. Check the app or consult troubleshooting guides.
- Nozzle heating: The nozzle is warming up to the required printing temperature.
- Nozzle cooling: The nozzle is cooling down after a print or operation.
Notes
- AOSEED filaments are recommended for optimal performance. Avoid frequently changing filaments from different brands to prevent nozzle jamming.
- Please note that the available versions of the X-MAKER App may vary across different platforms.
- The recommended ambient temperature for operating the printer is between 0-35°C. Please turn off the printer when it is not in use.
