Quick Start Guide
Step 1: Set Up Your Gateway
- First, install your gateway in your control cabinet (refer to "Installation" and "Configuration" sections).
- Then, place the SIM card in the holder (refer to "Connection" section). This applies only to Connect X and XM gateways.
- Now connect the gateway to the power supply and your computer to network port 2 (refer to "Device configuration").
- Finally, open the URL 192.168.2.1 in your browser and activate the configuration mode by pressing the reset button. The gateway is now ready for configuration.
Step 2: Link Your Gateway
- Log into the ManagementPortal at https://my.hooc.me and create a new site (see "Linking via HOOC ManagementPortal").
- Enter the required information and the 20-digit serial number of your gateway. The gateway will then automatically connect to the HOOC Cloud and the newly created site.
Step 3: Control Your Site
- Use your cell phone to monitor, program, and control your plant remotely via the "HOOC ClientApp" (available on Google Play and App Store).
Installation
The gateway can be installed both vertically and horizontally. Ensure sufficient free space (minimum 25 mm) for ventilation slots.
Pay attention to the antenna connector labels (symbols) to ensure correct antenna usage.
Position antennas orthogonally (90° to each other) and keep cables at a distance from antenna connections.
Caution: Avoid installing the gateway near powerful radio transmitters or sensitive devices that could be affected by emitted radio signals.
Rail Mounting
1. Hold the gateway at a slight angle over the upper edge of the top-hat rail. Click it into the upper opening (behind the suspension).
2. Press the gateway straight down. Ensure it clicks into the lower fixture before releasing.
Typical Connection Diagram
The gateway includes a connection for functional earth. Connecting it to the protective earthing in the control cabinet is recommended to improve immunity against conducted and radiated RF interference, and electrical transients through Ethernet cables.
A suitable separating device is required for installation.
Interfaces shown:
- PLC, WAN, Internet
- HMI, KNX, LAN
- LoRa, LTE, WiFi
- Digital inputs (DI1, DI2)
- Digital outputs (DO1, DO2)
- RS485 (A, B)
- Power Supply (+, -)
Connections: 24 VDC, GND, PE (Protective Earth).
Connection (Models X, XM) - SIM Card
SIM Card (Nano, Form Factor 4FF):
- Press with a small tool on the holder and pull it out.
- Place the SIM card from behind onto the holder.
- Push the holder back with light pressure.
Configuration
- Connect your HOOC gateway to the power supply.
- Connect your computer to the LAN network (Ethernet port 2 of your gateway).
- Open the default IP address (URL 192.168.2.1) in your browser (Google Chrome recommended).
- Activate configuration mode by briefly pressing the reset button (the power LED will light up red).
Gateway Controls:
- [Reject configuration]
- [Save configuration]
- [Exit configuration]
IMPORTANT: Configuration mode will be automatically disabled after five minutes of browser inactivity. All unsaved changes will be lost.
