Scoot Operation Instructions

How Does Scoot Fly?

First, turn the drone on in a room with lots of space. When its center light is solid green, drop it and it will soar and race!

The drone will hover in place if it's turned on and charged.

You can prepare to catch it, just to be safe. If it's turned on and charged up, it will hover in place.

What's Scoot Doing Now?

The drone automatically rotates to sense the room so it doesn't crash when it wants to zoom.

If it senses something nearby, it will change direction as it flies.

Flight Direction Controls

How is Scoot Controlled?

Put your hand up when the drone is close; it will know what you mean.

You will be telling it which way to lean.

Can Scoot Go Higher?

Put your hand under the drone when it's close by. It will sense your request and rise as it flies.

Flight Direction Controls (Continued)

How Does Scoot Stop?

If it's time to stop flying around, gently "catch" the drone and turn it upside down.

What Else to Know About Scoot?

The center light turns solid red when the battery is low.

If the drone crashes, no worries! Toss it up and it will go!

Flight Direction Controls (Continued)

How Does Scoot Flip?

Wanna see it flip while in mid-glide? It needs to sense your hands, one on each side.

When its light flickers white, it's ready to roll. Just brush your hand under it, and it will flip with control.

If you're having trouble performing this trick, watch the video tutorial (refer to page 12 for details).

Troubleshooting Guide

Problem Solution
How does Scoot turn on? The ON/OFF switch is on the opposite side of the charger port. See the diagram on Page 7.
Why doesn't Scoot charge? Start by ensuring the drone is turned off prior to charging. The USB plug will turn red when plugged into a power source; the light will stay on while charging. When fully charged, the light on the USB will turn off.
Why does Scoot crash? "I don't mean to! Make sure you are in a spacious room. I can easily change direction when I sense an obstacle. If the space is too small, I might try to change directions too quickly. I may also need to be calibrated. Instructions for this are on Page 5."
What if Scoot goes too fast? "I always try to avoid any obstacles: walls, furniture, people, solid objects. Sometimes, I like to zoom! Make sure the room we're in has a good amount of airspace for my flight path."
How durable is Scoot? "I'm pretty tough, but please be gentle! A little toss is all it takes to launch me. "Catch" me out of the air quickly and turn me upside down to stop me. Always make sure you're in a safe, clear flight area before relaunching me."
Where can Scoot fly? "I like to explore, but I can get pretty adventurous! I'm at my best indoors, with plenty of space."
Can Scoot's performance be improved? "If you need to adjust my flight control, check out the calibration section on Page 5."
