Welcome to Westinghouse. This guide helps you get started with your new appliance.

Getting Started

This is a Quick Start Guide. For detailed information and installation, please refer to the user manual available online at westinghouse.com.au/manuals.

Before you begin, ensure:

  • Your oven has been correctly installed by a qualified person.
  • Your oven has power and is switched on.
  • All relevant packaging has been removed.

Most packaging materials are recyclable. Please dispose of them at your local recycling centre or in your recycling bin.

Control Panel Overview

Familiarize yourself with the control panel:

  • 1 Oven function selector: Dial to choose cooking modes.
  • 2 Oven/grill temperature control: Dial to set temperature.
  • 3 Function indicator light: Shows when a function is active.
  • 4 Cook time icon: Symbol for setting cooking duration.
  • 5 Electronic clock: Displays time and timer settings.
  • 6 Gas hob burner controls: Knobs for controlling gas burners.
  • 7 Indicates timer is set: Indicator for an active timer.
  • 8 Time of day icon: Symbol for setting the clock.

Installing Accessories

Side Racks:

  • There are left and right hand versions of the side racks.
  • Insert the rear peg into the rear access hole, ensuring it is fully inserted.
  • Locate the front peg into the front access hole and push firmly.

Fitting a Shelf or Tray to Side Racks:

  • Locate the rear edge of the shelf between the guide rails of the side rack. Ensure the same rail positions are used on both sides.
  • With the front edge raised, slide the shelf into the oven.
  • Once the detents have passed the front edge of the side rack, push the shelf completely in.

Fitting Shelf/Tray to Telescopic Slides (where supplied):

  • Push the shelf or tray along the top of the slide until it hits the back post.
  • Drop the front of the shelf or tray onto the slide, ensuring it sits behind the front post of the slide.
  • When fully inserted, the shelf/tray should not interfere with the closed oven door.

Initial Setup

Set the Time

You must set the time before operating the appliance.

  1. After electrical connection, "12:00" will be displayed and the clock icon will flash.
  2. Press the '+' or '-' symbols to set the time of day.
  3. The clock icon will disappear 5 seconds after the last change, confirming the time is set.

Note: The clock uses a 24-hour display.

Condition the Oven

New appliances may have manufacturing residue. Heat the oven for 2 hours before first use.

  1. Turn the function selector dial to 'Fan Bake'.
  2. Using the temperature control knob, set the oven to 180°C for approximately 2 hours.
  3. Ensure the room is well-ventilated during this process.

Using Your Appliance

Pre-heating: For best cooking results, pre-heat the oven. Recommended pre-heat times are 30 minutes for baking and 3 minutes for grilling.

Cooking Functions:

Gas Cooktop

Intense burners provide high heat for searing, stir-frying, or boiling. To light a burner: press the knob and turn it anti-clockwise to the 'High' flame position. Release the knob once the flame is established and turn it further anti-clockwise to reduce the flame height.

Fan Bake

Best for cooking on multiple shelves or reheating complete meals.

Grill / Maxi Grill

Use for tender cuts of meat, steak, chops, sausages, fish, and cheese toasties. Grill with the oven door closed. Preheat the grill for 3 minutes for best results, sealing in natural juices for better flavour. 'Maxi Grill' uses the large grill dish area and cooks faster.

Defrost

Ideal for defrosting food, raising yeast dough, or drying fruits and vegetables.

Setting Temperature:

  • Turn the temperature control knob clockwise to the desired setting.
  • An indicator light will turn on, and the oven will begin to heat.
  • Turn the temperature control knob anti-clockwise to the 'off' position once cooking is complete.

Note: The desired cooking function must be selected before the oven will turn on.
