Purpose of This Guide

Congratulations on choosing a Subaru Crosstrek! This guide introduces you to your new Subaru Crosstrek, covering basic operation and key features, including the STARLINK™ and EyeSight® systems.

Important Safety Information: This guide is not a substitute for your Owner's Manuals. Review your Vehicle, STARLINK®, and EyeSight® Owner's Manuals for complete understanding.

SUBARU STARLINK® Safety and Security (if equipped, subscription required):

  • SOS Emergency: Press the red "SOS" button ? on the overhead console to speak with a SUBARU STARLINK® Customer Care Advisor.
  • Enhanced Roadside Assistance: Press the blue "i" button ℹ️ on the overhead console or select "MySubaru" then "Roadside Assistance" on the multimedia system.

Subaru Roadside Assistance: 1-800-261-2155. Available during the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Covers towing, jump-starts, fuel delivery, flat tire changes, lockout service, and retailer location.

Towing Your All-Wheel Drive Subaru

Improper towing may damage your AWD system. Flatbed towing is recommended. Consult your Owner's Manual for details.

Entry and Exit

Keyless Entry

Transmitter Buttons:

  • Lock/Arm (?): Locks doors, rear gate, and activates security alarm. Three presses activate vehicle finder.
  • Unlock/Disarm (?): One press unlocks driver's door; two presses unlock all doors and rear gate.
  • Rear Gate: Unlocks the rear gate.
  • Panic Alarm: Sounds horn and flashes hazard lights. Press any button on fob to deactivate.

Automatic Door Locking/Unlocking: Customizable via Combination Meter Display or STARLINK® Touchscreen (Vehicle Settings).

Keyless Access with Push-Button Start (if equipped)

Lock/unlock doors without removing the key fob from your pocket or purse.

  • Unlocking: Grip the door handle. Grip the front passenger handle to unlock all doors and the rear gate.
  • Locking: Touch the door lock sensor (two lines) on either front door handle.
  • Rear Gate: Press the rear gate opener button to unlock/open. Press the rear lock button to lock.

Instrument Panel

Overview of instrument panel components including switches, combination meter, and multimedia touchscreen.

  • Combination Meter: Displays speed, tachometer, fuel gauge, ECO gauge, trip meter, and warning lights. Available in 2.4-inch and 4.2-inch Color displays.
  • Warning and Indicator Lights: Red lights require immediate attention (e.g., Seatbelt, Brake System). Yellow lights indicate caution (e.g., Low Fuel, Tire Pressure). Green/Blue lights are informational (e.g., Headlight indicator).

Controls

Instrument Panel Switches (Lower Left)

Control features like Steering Responsive Headlights, Illumination Brightness, Vehicle Dynamics Control OFF, Auto Start-Stop OFF, and Blind Spot Detection/Rear Cross Traffic Alert OFF.

Audio Controls

Steering wheel controls for Volume (⬆️/⬇️), Source, INFO, and Call/Voice Recognition (?). Multimedia system buttons include Power/Volume, Radio, Media, Tune, and Seek.

Cruise Control

Standard Cruise Control: Set speed using the On/Off and Set/Cancel buttons.

Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control (if equipped)

Controls: On/Off, Lane Keep Assist, Increase/Decrease Distance, Resume/Set Speed, SI-Drive.

  • Adaptive Cruise Control: Maintains set speed and following distance.
  • Lane Keep Assist: Provides steering assistance to keep the vehicle centered in the lane.
  • SI-DRIVE: Select between Intelligent (I) and Sport (S) modes for different driving experiences.

i/SET Switch

Cycles through driving information (fuel consumption, time, speed, tire pressure) on the Combination Meter Display. Allows access to menu settings.

INFO Switch

Cycles through information in the Multi-Function Display (MFD). Accesses settings menus.

Light Controls

  • AUTO (?): Headlights turn on/off automatically based on ambient light.
  • Parking Lights (?): Turns on parking, side marker, tail, and license plate lights.
  • Headlights (?): Turns on headlights. Pull lever for high beams.
  • High Beams (?): Push lever forward for high beams. Activates High Beam Assist (HBA) if equipped.
  • Fog Lights (?️): Turn on fog lights when headlights are on low beam.

Illumination Brightness Dial: Adjusts instrument panel brightness.

Daytime Running Lights: Automatically activate when the engine is running and parking brake is released.

Turn Signals

Push lever up for right ➡️, down for left ⬅️. One-touch lane changer function available.

Windshield Wipers

  • Intermittent: Adjust interval with dial.
  • Low/High Speed: Push lever down.
  • Mist: Push lever up for a single wipe.
  • Windshield Washer: Pull lever toward you.

Rear Window Wiper

Operated by rotating the lever. Switches to continuous operation in reverse (R ?). Washer activated by rotating dial.

Overhead Console

  • SOS Emergency Assistance (?): Connects to SUBARU STARLINK® Customer Care.
  • Enhanced Roadside Assistance (ℹ️): Connects to SUBARU STARLINK® Roadside Assistance.
  • Automatic Illumination: Map lights activate with doors/ignition.
  • Lane Departure Warning OFF Switch: Turns off LDW and Lane Sway Warning.
  • Pre-Collision Braking System OFF Switch: Turns off PCB, Brake Assist, and Throttle Management.
  • Map Lights: Press to turn on/off.
  • Power Moonroof Switch: Tilts and slides the moonroof.

Getting Comfortable

Seating

Manual Seats: Adjust forward/backward, seat height (driver), and recline using levers.

Power Driver's Seat (if equipped): Adjust position, height, and recline using the power controls.

Head Restraint Adjustment: Raise/lower and tilt forward for optimal positioning.

Seatbelt Adjuster: Position the shoulder belt over the middle of your shoulder.

Tilt and Telescopic Steering Column

Adjust steering wheel height and reach by pulling down the lever to unlock, adjusting, and pushing the lever back up to lock.

Power Exterior Mirrors

Use the knob to select left (L) or right (R) mirror, then push the knob in the desired direction to adjust.

Rear View Mirror

Auto-dimming Mirror: Automatically dims to reduce glare at night. Press switch to toggle on/off.

HomeLink® 5 Accessory Mirror: Replaces garage door openers and other devices. Programming instructions in Owner's Manual.

Power Windows

Use switches to open/close. Front windows have one-touch auto up/down function.

Power Moonroof (if equipped)

Tilt and slide the moonroof using the switches. Press and hold for automatic open/close, or press briefly to pause.

Climate Control

Automatic Climate Control: Press "AUTO" to let the system manage temperature, fan speed, and airflow. Set desired temperature with the dial. Manual controls are also available.

  • Manual Mode: Adjust A/C, Fan Speed, Airflow Mode (Ventilation, Bi-Level, Feet, Defrost), Recirculated/Outside Air (?/?️), and Defroster (?).
  • Rear Window Defogger (?): Defogs rear window, and if equipped, outside mirrors and windshield wiper deicer. Turns off automatically after 15 minutes.

Remote Engine Start with Climate Control (if equipped): Start your Subaru remotely via the MySubaru App.

Heated Seats (if equipped): Switches for driver and passenger. Press "HI" ?⬆️ for faster heating, "LO" ?⬇️ for normal. Return to center to turn off.

Accessory Connections

  • Auxiliary Input Jack (?): Connect portable music players. Select "AUX" as source.
  • Dual USB Ports (?): Connect devices for music playback or charging. Center console ports are for charging only. Supports Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™.
  • Power Outlets (12V): For in-vehicle electrical appliances (max 120W).

Operating the Vehicle

Ignition Switch

Positions: LOCK (key insertion/removal), ACC (accessory power), ON (all systems active), START (engine start).

Push-Button Ignition Switch (if equipped)

Press switch without brake pedal: ACC, ON, OFF. Press with brake pedal (and clutch for manual) to start.

Starting the Vehicle

  • Without Push-button: Turn key to "START" with select lever in "P" (or clutch depressed for manual).
  • With Push-button: Depress brake pedal, then press Engine START/STOP button when indicator is green.

Driving the Vehicle

  • 6-Speed Manual Transmission: Standard manual shifting. Raise slider to engage reverse (R ?).
  • Automatic Transmission (CVT):
    • Normal Mode (D ?): Automatic shifting.
    • Low Mode (L ?): For engine braking downhill.
    • Manual Mode (M Ⓜ️) (if equipped): Select gears using paddle shifters (+/-, ⬆️/⬇️) on steering wheel. Temporary shifts possible in D mode.
  • SI-DRIVE (if equipped): Select Intelligent (I) for fuel efficiency or Sport (S) for performance.

Auto Start-Stop (if equipped)

Automatically stops and restarts the engine to save fuel. Press the Auto Start-Stop OFF switch ⏹️ to disable; indicator light turns yellow. System defaults to ON. Yellow indicator light (⚠️) illuminates when system is off. Flashing yellow indicates a malfunction.

X-MODE® (if equipped)

Integrated system for slippery conditions (mud, snow). Activates below 12 mph, cancels above 25 mph.

  • Standard System: Press X-MODE® switch. Indicator appears. Press again to deactivate. VDC can be turned off separately for more wheel spin.
  • Dual Mode System (Sport): Select SNOW/DIRT (?️/?) or DEEP SNOW/MUD (?️/?) modes.

Hill Descent Control (HDC): Automatically activated with X-MODE®. Maintains consistent speed downhill. Indicator flashes when operating.

Turning Off the Vehicle

  • Without Push-button: Stop vehicle, move select lever to "P" (or set parking brake for manual), turn ignition to LOCK/OFF. Manual transmission recommended to leave in gear.
  • With Push-button: Stop vehicle, move select lever to "P" (or set parking brake for manual), press ignition switch to stop engine. Manual transmission recommended to leave in gear.

Refueling

Fuel Filler Lid

Pull release lever to open. Place cap on holder. Turn clockwise until clicking sound. Press lid to close. Ensure cap is tightened properly to avoid Check Engine light.

Fuel Specifications and Capacity

  • 2.0L Engine: 87 AKI or higher octane, max 15% ethanol. 16.6 US Gallon tank. Low fuel warning at 2.5 US Gallons.
  • 2.5L Engine: 87 AKI or higher octane, max 10% ethanol. 16.6 US Gallon tank. Low fuel warning at 2.5 US Gallons.

Passenger/Cargo Areas

Folding the Rear Seats

Lower headrests, pull release knob (red marker visible) to fold seats down. Raise until locked to return.

Child Safety Locks

Located on rear doors. Locked position prevents opening from inside.

LATCH/ANCHOR

Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children system for child restraint installation. Follow manufacturer and Owner's Manual instructions. Children 12 and under must use the rear seat.

Rear Seat Reminder (if equipped)

Monitors rear door openings/closings. Warns with audible beeps and message if rear doors were opened and closed while ignition was on, prompting a check of the rear seat.

Cargo Cover (if equipped)

Detachable cover to protect cargo from sunlight. Insert ends into catches. Store under floor when not in use. Use floor hooks for securing loads.

Spare Tire and Jack

Tools (jack, handle, screwdriver, towing hook, wheel wrench) stored in tool bucket under cargo area floor.

Engine Compartment

Hood Prop

Locate and unfold prop to secure the hood.

2.0L or 2.5L Engine

Components include: Brake Fluid Reservoir, Fuse Box, Battery, Washer Tank, Radiator Cap, Engine Oil Filler Cap, Engine Coolant Reservoir, Oil Filter, Dipstick, Air Cleaner Element.

Recommended First Service: Engine Oil and Filter replacement at 6 months/6,000 miles and 12 months/12,000 miles. Tire rotation, HVAC filter replacement, clutch inspection (MT), and brake/steering/suspension inspection also recommended.

Additional Specifications

New Vehicle Break-In

For the first 1,000 miles: Avoid racing the engine, exceeding 4,000 rpm (except emergencies), driving at constant speeds for long periods, sudden starts, rapid acceleration, or hard braking.

Engine Oil

Use 0W-20 synthetic oil meeting API SN (Resource Conserving) or SP (Resource Conserving) specifications, or ILSAC GF-5 or GF-6A.

Engine Oil Capacity

  • 2.0L Model: 4.7 US quarts (with oil and filter change)
  • 2.5L Model: 4.4 US quarts (with oil and filter change)

Add approx. 1.1 US quarts to reach "Full" level from "Low" mark.

Roof Rail/Cross Bar Capacity

  • Dynamic: Cross Bars 150 lbs, Roof Rails 176 lbs.
  • Static: Roof Rails 700 lbs.

Trailer Towing Capacity

  • Maximum trailer weight (with brakes): 1,500 pounds
  • Maximum tongue weight: 150 pounds

Note: Deactivate BSD/RCTA and RAB systems when towing if they may be obstructed.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Monitors individual tire pressure. TPMS screen displays pressure. Units (psi/kPa) customizable via Combination Meter Display.

Tire Inflation Pressure:

  • Front Wheel: 33 psi
  • Rear Wheel: 32 psi
  • Temporary Spare Tire: 60 psi

Note: Temporary spare must be used on a rear wheel only.

STARLINK Overview

Overview of Your Multimedia System

SUBARU STARLINK™ Multimedia integrates radio, phone connectivity (Bluetooth®), calls, texts, and music playback. Compatible smartphone and app required. Data usage may apply.

System Types: 6.5-inch and 8.0-inch displays, with Multimedia, Multimedia Plus, and Multimedia Navigation options.

Buttons

  • Power/Volume Control: Mute/unmute audio, adjust volume. Press and hold to turn system off.
  • Radio: Access AM/FM/SXM.
  • Media: Select audio sources (Bluetooth®, USB, CD, AUX).
  • Tune Knob: Change stations, tracks, or access sound settings.
  • Seek Buttons: Find next/previous station or track. Fast-forward/rewind.
  • CD Player (if equipped): Load/eject discs.
  • Home Button: Displays Home screen apps.
  • Map Button (if equipped): Access navigation features.
  • Apps Button: Access installed applications.

Touchscreen

Operate by touching the screen directly. Supports touch, double touch, drag, swipe, and pinch gestures for navigation and map zooming.

Steering Wheel Controls

  • Presets/Skip: Cycle through stations/tracks.
  • Volume: Adjust volume ⬆️/⬇️.
  • Source: Change audio sources.
  • INFO: Operate Multi-Function Display.
  • Call/Voice Recognition: Answer/end calls ?. Activate voice commands.

Voice Recognition

Control navigation, entertainment, and phone via voice commands. Press Voice Recognition button on steering wheel. Say "Help" for available commands. Tips for optimal recognition include speaking clearly and minimizing background noise.

Common Commands: Dial [Number], Call [Name], Navigate to [Address], Show Map, Tune to [Frequency], Preset [Number].

STARLINK Home

Home Screen Icons

Icons for Phone ?, Map ?️, Settings ⚙️, Add Shortcut, Apps, Media ?, and Radio ?.

Rearranging Icons

Enable "Home Screen Shortcuts" in Settings > General. Select and hold an icon to drag it to a new position. Drag to the bottom to delete.

Adding Shortcuts

Enable "Home Screen Shortcuts". Press "Home" button, select "Add Shortcut", choose function, then select shortcut.

Driver Profile

Creating a Driver Profile

Records station presets, sound preferences, addresses, phone favorites, icons, and wallpaper. To create: Settings > General > Driver Profile > Add New Profile. Enter name, pair phone, enter addresses, select wallpaper, and finish.

Retrieving a Driver Profile

System retrieves automatically when phone is active. Manually activate via Settings > Driver Profile.

Multimedia

Radio

AM/FM Radio: Includes HD Radio™ for digital broadcasts (where available). Visit www.hdradio.com for info.

Satellite Radio (if equipped): Requires SiriusXM® subscription after trial. Visit www.siriusxm.com.

Presets: Store up to 18 stations across AM, FM, and SiriusXM®.

Media

  • Bluetooth®: Pair phone for hands-free calls and audio streaming. See page 96 (Android) or 100 (iOS) for pairing.
  • CD (if equipped): Single disc player.
  • USB/iPod: Connect devices via USB ports for music playback. Use MFi certified cables for iPod.
  • AUX Input (?): Connect external audio devices.

Phone

Pairing a Phone

Making a Call

Use voice commands (press steering wheel button ?) or select "Phone" from the Home screen and use Overview, Favorites, Recent, Keypad, or Phonebook.

Receiving a Call

Press the Call Switch on steering wheel or "Call Button" on Touchscreen. Reject call using "End Switch" or "End Button".

Text Messages

Received SMS/MMS messages can be displayed and replied to via the system, provided phonebook download is enabled and the phone supports the feature.

Mobile app and website (www.MySubaru.com) for scheduling service, receiving reminders, tracking history, accessing manuals, and STARLINK® Safety and Security features. Service Appointment Scheduler available via website, app, or touchscreen.

Maps (if equipped)

Maps Overview

Integrated navigation system powered by TomTom®. Find destinations by address or Points of Interest (POI). Save favorites, customize routes.

Creating Home and Work Profiles

Save home and work addresses in the navigation system for convenience. See page 58 for driver profile creation.

Finding a Destination

  • By Address: Menu > Search for Destination > Enter Address. Select suggestion or enter full address.
  • By POI: Menu > Nearby Places List of POI. Browse categories and select.

Route Options

Select "Route Options" to avoid highways, tolls, etc. Set preferences for Shortest, Fastest, or Economic routes in Settings > Navigation > Route Settings.

Saving Destination as a Favorite

Once at a destination, select current street name > Save > Home, Work, or Favorite.

Guidance Screen Icons

Icons indicate turns, lane guidance, U-turns, roundabout navigation, and arrival status.

Map Zoom

Use "+" / "-" buttons or pinch gesture on the touchscreen.

Map View/Perspective

Change between 2D North-up, 2D Heading-up, and 3D views by tapping the perspective icon.

Traffic Information

Traffic conditions shown by color on map. Requires SiriusXM® subscription.

Nearest Gas Station

Select any point on map > Fuel icon. Displays nearby gas stations, restaurants, rest areas along route.

Arrival Time/Distance

Tap information box in lower right to cycle through distance, travel time, or arrival time.

Canceling Guidance

Menu > Cancel.

Map Updates

Update via USB from www.subaru-maps.com or over-the-air via Wi-Fi. See page 108 for Wi-Fi connection, page 118 for map update steps.

STARLINK Safety and Security (if equipped)

Safety and Security Overview

Provides Advanced Automatic Collision Notification, SOS Emergency Assistance ?, Enhanced Roadside Assistance ℹ️, Stolen Vehicle Recovery, Remote Engine Start. Connects to SUBARU STARLINK® call centers via SOS and "i" buttons on overhead console.

Note: Requires active STARLINK® subscription. Remote Engine Start available on keyless access push-button start vehicles (not manual transmission).

Enrollment

Requires a MySubaru account (www.mysubaru.com). Enroll online, via MySubaru App, at retailer, or by calling 1-855-753-2495. Have VIN ready.

MySubaru Integration

MySubaru website and app provide access to Remote Services, Vehicle Health, Usage Reports, Service Appointment Scheduler, maintenance schedules, and support resources.

SUBARU STARLINK® Wi-Fi Hotspot (if equipped)

Provides in-vehicle Wi-Fi using AT&T's network. Internet access purchased separately through AT&T. Setup involves connecting to the hotspot network and following on-screen instructions via web browser. Visit https://www.att.com/plans/connected-car/subaru.html for details.

Settings and Updates

Settings and Updates Overview

Customize vehicle settings and update system software and maps.

Connect to Home Wi-Fi (if equipped)

Settings > General > Wi-Fi Settings. Connect to your network to update software and maps.

Performing Software Updates

Updates enhance features and security. Can be done by retailer or via Wi-Fi/aha® app (8.0-inch systems). See page 120 for steps.

Sound

Customize EQ, sound position, volume levels (Entertainment, Aux, Microphone, Navigation, Phone, Ringtone, Speech/VR), Alert Sounds, Beep Sounds, and Speed Volume.

Phone

Manage Bluetooth® connections, adjust microphone, ringtone, and phone volume. Access phone settings via Settings > Phone.

Maps/Navigation

Customize Route Settings (Fastest, Shortest, Economic), Avoidances, Map Display (brightness), POI Icons, Auto Zoom, Rest Stop Guidance, and Low Fuel Warning. Check www.subaru-maps.com for map updates.

Clock

Set manually or automatically. Auto mode syncs with paired phone (no navigation) or GPS signal (with navigation). Settings > Vehicle > Time/Date > Mode (Manual/Auto).

EyeSight® (if equipped)

EyeSight® Overview

Driver assist technology using dual cameras to monitor the road ahead. Can apply brakes or reduce engine power to help avoid/reduce collision severity. Alerts provided visually and audibly.

Functions

  • Pre-Collision Braking (PCB): Helps prevent/minimize frontal collisions with visual/audible warnings and automatic braking/throttle reduction. Can be turned OFF.
  • Pre-Collision Brake Assist: Assists braking pressure to decrease stopping distance when PCB is active and brakes are applied. Can be turned OFF.
  • Pre-Collision Throttle Management: Reduces engine power to prevent unintended acceleration into obstacles. Can be turned OFF.
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW): Audible/visual warnings if departing lane. Identifies lane markings at ~30 mph+. Does not provide corrective action. Can be turned OFF.
  • Lane Sway Warning: Detects repetitive side-to-side movement indicating driver inattention. Warnings provided at ~37 mph+. Does not provide corrective action. Can be turned OFF.
  • Lane Departure Prevention: Provides steering assistance to keep vehicle in lane on expressways (~37 mph+). Uses EyeSight® cameras. Turned ON/OFF via Lane Keep Assist button. Icon turns green when assisting.
  • Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering:
    • ACC: Maintains set speed and following distance from vehicle ahead. Set via steering wheel controls.
    • Lane Centering: Assists steering to keep vehicle centered in lane when ACC is active.
  • Conventional Cruise Control: Maintains set speed without adaptive features. Activated by holding "Increase Distance" or "Decrease Distance" buttons for ~2 seconds when ACC is in standby.
  • Lead Vehicle Start Alert: Alerts driver when vehicle ahead moves and yours remains stationary. Can be customized.

Steering Wheel Controls

Controls for Adaptive Cruise Control (On/Off, Lane Keep Assist, Distance Adjust, Resume/Set Speed), SI-DRIVE.

Lane Departure Warning and Pre-Collision Braking System OFF Switches

Located on overhead console. Press and hold for ~2 seconds to turn functions OFF/ON. Yellow indicator light illuminates when OFF.

Driver Assist Technologies

Rear-Vision Camera

Displays image behind vehicle on multimedia screen when in "R" position. Includes centerline, distance markers, and dynamic guidelines.

Blind Spot Detection (BSD)/Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) (if equipped)

Radar sensors warn of vehicles in blind spots (BSD) or approaching from sides when reversing (RCTA).

  • BSD: Visual warning in side mirror. Flashes rapidly if turn signal is used.
  • Lane Change Assist (LCA): Warns of rapidly approaching vehicles in adjacent lanes.
  • RCTA: Visual and audible warnings when reversing.

BSD/RCTA OFF: Deactivate system using switch on instrument panel. Yellow indicator illuminates when OFF.

High Beam Assist (HBA) (if equipped)

Automatically switches headlights between high and low beams based on road conditions and oncoming traffic. Activated when headlights are in "AUTO" and lever is pushed forward. Green HBA indicator illuminates.

Steering Responsive Headlights (SRH) (if equipped)

Aims headlights in the direction of steering for improved corner visibility. Can be turned OFF using SRH OFF switch.

Reverse Automatic Braking (RAB) (if equipped)

Uses sonar sensors to detect objects when reversing (1-9 mph). Automatically applies brakes if collision is possible. RAB can be turned OFF via touchscreen buttons.

Care and Limitations

Stereo Camera Precautions

Keep EyeSight® cameras clean and unobstructed. Avoid touching lenses. Over-spray from cleaning solutions can impair performance. Ensure electronic toll devices do not obstruct cameras. Adjust rearview mirror carefully.

Windshield Glass and Dashboard

Keep windshield and area in front of cameras free from dirt, scratches, cracks, fogging, or accessories. Visual impairments can affect system performance.

Bluetooth® Pairing

  • Android Device: Settings > Phone > Add Device. On phone: Settings > Connected Devices > Bluetooth > Pair New Device (Subaru BT). Allow contacts/call history download. Ensure "Phonebook Download" is enabled.
  • iOS/Apple Device: Settings > Phone > Add Device. On phone: Settings > Bluetooth > Select "Subaru BT". Confirm PIN. Allow Contacts Sync. Ensure "Show Notifications" and "Sync Contacts" are enabled. Restart vehicle to complete sync.

Android Auto™

Connect Android phone via USB using a quality OEM cable. Follow on-screen prompts. Launch Android Auto™ app. If issues occur, forget car in app settings or reinstall app.

Apple CarPlay®

Connect iPhone via USB using an MFi certified cable. Select "Allow" on iPhone. Select Apple CarPlay™ on vehicle screen. Ensure iPhone and apps are up to date.

Wi-Fi

  • Connecting to Wi-Fi: Settings > General > Wi-Fi Settings. Select network, enter password if secure, and connect.
  • Wi-Fi Hotspot Subscription: Internet access via AT&T. Purchase plan separately. Activate via email from AT&T or MySubaru. Settings > Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Maps

Finding Destination: By Address (Menu > Search), by POI (Menu > Nearby Places). Select route and "GO".

Route Options: Avoid highways, tolls, etc. Set Shortest/Fastest/Economic routes in Settings > Navigation > Route Settings.

Saving Favorites: Save current location as Home, Work, or Favorite.

Map Updates: Via USB from www.subaru-maps.com or over-the-air via Wi-Fi (Settings > Navigation > Map Update).

Firmware and Software Updates

Update system software via Wi-Fi or aha® app (8.0-inch systems). Settings > General > Check for Updates. Download and install updates.
