Before Use

Precautions
- Volume Adjustment: Adjust the volume so you can hear external sounds to avoid accidents. Lower the volume before playing digital sources to prevent speaker damage from sudden output level increases.
- General: Avoid using external devices that may obstruct safe driving. Ensure important data is backed up; the manufacturer is not responsible for data loss. Do not place metallic objects inside the unit to prevent short circuits.
- Remote Control (RM-RK52): Do not leave the remote in hot locations (e.g., dashboard). Lithium batteries may explode if replaced incorrectly; use the same type or equivalent. Keep batteries away from children and dispose of them promptly.
How to Read This Manual
- Operations are explained using the front panel buttons of the KD-X330BT.
- English indications are used for explanation; display language can be chosen from the menu.

Basic Operation
Front Panel
The front panel features a volume knob, display window, and detachment button. The unit can also be operated remotely with the RM-RK52 remote control (sold separately).
Attaching/Detaching: The faceplate can be detached for security.
Resetting: Press the button twice within 5 seconds after detaching the faceplate.
Replacing the Battery: Remove the insulating sheet before first use.

Getting Started
Cancel Demo Mode
When powering on for the first time (or if [FACTORY RST] is set to [YES]), the unit may show "CANCEL DEMO". Press the volume knob to select [YES] for initial setup, then press again. "DEMO OFF" will appear.
Set Clock
- Press and hold ⌂.
- Turn volume knob to select [CLOCK], then press button.
- Turn volume knob to select [CLOCK SET], then press button.
- Turn volume knob to adjust Hour and Minute, then press button.
- Turn volume knob to select [24H/ 12H], then press button.
- Turn volume knob to select [12 HOUR] or [24 HOUR], then press button.
- Press ⌂ to exit.
Basic Settings
Press and hold ⌂, then turn the volume knob to select an item and press the button. Repeat for desired settings. Press ⌂ to exit.

Language Selection: ENGLISH, Русский, ESPANOL are available for menu and track information.
Radio
The "ST" indicator lights up for strong stereo FM reception.
Station Search
- Press SOURCE- ⌂ to select FM or AM.
- Press ⌂ / ⌃ (or on RM-RK52) to search automatically.
- Alternatively, press and hold ⌂ / ⌃ until "M" blinks, then press repeatedly to search manually.
Memory Settings
You can store up to 18 FM and 6 AM stations.
- To Memorize: While listening, press and hold a numeric button (1-6). Or, press and hold volume knob until "PRESET MODE" blinks, select preset number, and press button. "MEMORY" will appear.
- To Select: Press a numeric button (1-6). Or, press ⌂, turn volume knob to select preset number, and press button.
Other Parameters
Press and hold ⌂, select [TUNER], then adjust settings.
- Radio Timer: Set a specific time for the radio to turn on (ONCE/DAILY/WEEKLY/OFF, FM/AM, preset station, time).
- SSM (Station Scan Memory): Automatically presets up to 18 FM stations.
AUX
Using a Portable Audio Player
- Connect a portable audio player using a 3.5mm stereo mini-plug.
- Select [ON] for [AUX] in [SRC SELECT].
- Press SOURCE- ⌂ repeatedly to select AUX.
- Turn on the portable player and start playback.
USB / iPod / ANDROID
Start Playback
Connect your device via USB. Playback starts automatically.
Connections:
- USB: Use a USB 2.0 cable (sold separately).
- iPod/iPhone: Use the iPod/iPhone accessory cable.
- ANDROID: Use a Micro USB 2.0 cable (sold separately). Requires JVC MUSIC PLAY APP for some functions.

Select Command Mode
For USB/iPod, press 5 USB MODE to select HEAD MODE (iPod control from unit) or IPHONE MODE (iPod control). For Android, select AUTO MODE (unit control via JVC MUSIC PLAY app) or AUDIO MODE (Android device control).
Select Music Player
Press 5 USB MODE repeatedly. The unit will read from the selected player (e.g., smartphone Mass Storage Class).
Select File from Folder/List
- Press ⌂.
- Turn volume knob to select folder/list, then press button.
- Turn volume knob to select file, then press button.
Quick Search: Turn volume knob rapidly to scroll through lists.
Alphabetical Search (iPod only): Select characters (A-Z, 0-9, OTHERS).
Bluetooth®
Connection
Supported Profiles: HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, SPP, PBAP. Supported Codecs: SBC, AAC.
Connect Microphone: Plug the supplied microphone into the rear microphone input jack.
Pairing and Connecting for the First Time
- Press SOURCE- ⌂ to power on.
- On your Bluetooth device, search for and select "JVC UNIT". "BT PAIRING" will flash.
- Follow on-screen prompts. You may need to enter PIN "0000" or confirm a generated code.
Automatic Pairing: For iPhone/iPod touch/Android connected via USB, Bluetooth pairing is automatically requested.
Receiving a Call
When an incoming call is detected:
- Press ⌂ or the volume knob to answer.
- Press and hold ⌂ or the volume knob to reject.
- Press and hold ⌂ or the volume knob to end the call.
Making a Call
You can make calls from recent call history, phonebook, or by dialing directly. Voice command is supported if your phone has the feature.
Bluetooth Mode Settings: Access via ⌂, then select [BLUETOOTH]. Options include PHONE, AUDIO, DELETE PAIR, SET PINCODE, AUTO CNNCT, AUTO PAIR, INITIALIZE, and INFORMATION.
Bluetooth Compatibility Check: Ensure no device is paired, then initiate check mode from the unit.
Audio Player via Bluetooth
Press SOURCE- ⌂ to select BT AUDIO. Use the unit's controls to manage playback.
Audio Settings
Preset Equalizer
Press EQ-BASS repeatedly or press EQ-BASS and turn volume knob. Presets include FLAT, HARD ROCK, POP, HIP HOP, R&B, JAZZ, CLASSICAL, and USER.
Memorize Sound Adjustments
Access EASY EQ or PRO EQ settings, adjust parameters, and save them to [USER].
Other Parameters
Access via ⌂, then select [AUDIO] to adjust settings like SUB.W LEVEL, FADER, BALANCE, VOL ADJUST, AMP GAIN, SPK/PRE OUT, SPK SIZE, and X'OVER.
Crossover Settings: Options for 2-way and 3-way transitions are available, allowing adjustment of frequency, slope, phase, and gain for different speaker configurations.
Display Settings
Display
Access via ⌂, then select [DISPLAY].
- DIMMER: Adjusts display brightness for day/night. DIMMER TIME sets activation/deactivation times. AUTO mode syncs with vehicle headlights.
- BRIGHTNESS: Set separate brightness levels for day and night for buttons and display (00-31).
- SCROLL: Controls scrolling of display information (ONCE, AUTO, OFF).

Clean the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the connector on the back of the faceplate with a cotton swab.

Change Display Information
Press ⌂ to cycle through display information (Frequency, Clock, Station Name, Track Title, etc.).
Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions for common issues:
- No Sound: Check volume, connections, and speaker settings.
- "MISWIRING CHECK..." / "PROTECTING SEND SERVICE": Check wiring, ensure speaker cables are isolated, or contact service.
- Cannot Select Source: Check [SRC SELECT] setting.
- Poor Radio Reception / Static: Ensure antenna is connected securely.
- Incorrect Playback Order: Order is determined by filename.
- "NOT SUPPORT" / "READING" / "CANNOT PLAY": Verify file format compatibility, reconnect device, check device compatibility, or ensure device meets USB standards.
- Bluetooth Issues: Check pairing, device detection, call quality, and connection status. Re-pair or reset the unit if necessary.
- Android Issues: Check connection, app installation (JVC MUSIC PLAY), and mode selection ([AUTO MODE]/[AUDIO MODE]).
If problems persist, reset the unit.

Installation / Wiring
Warnings & Precautions
- Use only with 12V DC negative ground systems. Disconnect battery before wiring.
- Do not short battery (yellow) and ignition (red) wires to chassis or ground.
- Insulate unused wires.
- Ensure proper ground connection to the car chassis.
- Professional installation is recommended for safety.
- Install in vehicle console. Avoid touching hot metal parts.
- Connect speakers with >50W power rating or adjust [AMP GAIN].
- Mount at an angle less than 30°.
- If vehicle lacks ignition terminal, connect red wire to a 12V DC source that powers with the ignition key.
- Keep cables away from heat sinks.
- After installation, check vehicle lights and signals.
- Replace blown fuses only with the same rating after checking for shorts.
Basic Procedure
- Remove ignition key, disconnect battery negative terminal.
- Connect wires correctly (refer to diagrams).
- Install unit into vehicle.
- Reconnect battery terminal.
- Press SOURCE- ⌂ to power on.
- Detach faceplate and reset unit within 5 seconds.
