Any deviations or alterations from these instructions must be reported to Sonny's The CarWash Factory®. Keep this manual in a readily accessible location for ongoing reference.

Important Safeguards and Warnings

WARNING: Do not perform any maintenance or work on equipment unless Lock-Out Safety Precautions are first performed. All electrically powered equipment must have manually operated disconnects capable of being locked in the "OFF" position. Equipment that has been "locked out" must be restarted only by the person who performed the "lock out" operation. These procedures must be followed to avoid personal injury, death, and/or dismemberment.

• All parts and components must be installed by experienced and trained technicians.
• No unauthorized personnel should be permitted in the wash tunnel or near the equipment at any time.
• Appropriate safety wear, including a hardhat, safety glasses with side shields, closed steel toe shoes, anti-impact and cut resistant gloves, dust mask, and earplugs (if operating power tools), must be worn.
• When cutting or grinding metal, safety glasses, earplugs, and a dust mask must be worn.
• Do not leave ladders or other items (e.g., wash down hoses, tools) in the wash tunnel while equipment is running, as this can cause vehicle damage and injury, including death.
• Do not wear loose fitting clothing or jewelry around moving equipment. Ensure no part of your body or other objects come into contact with moving equipment to prevent entanglement, which can cause injury, death, or dismemberment.
• Exercise caution when walking through the wash tunnel, as floors may be slippery. Avoid bumping into or tripping over equipment.
• Electrical connections and repairs must only be performed by a Licensed Electrician.
• Plumbing connections and repairs must only be performed by a Licensed Plumber.
• When working on equipment higher than shoulders, use a fiberglass ladder in good condition.
• Use proper lifting techniques; team lifts are required for items over 50 lbs.
• Do not alter, modify, or interchange any components without authorization from your supervisor and Sonny's The CarWash Factory.
• Do not install parts or components into faulty materials.
• Report all damages and defects to your supervisor and Sonny's The CarWash Factory.
• Contact your supervisor or Sonny's The CarWash Factory immediately if any malfunctions occur or if you have questions regarding equipment operations.
• Only use approved hardware, parts, and components.
• Protect body parts against sharp corners and edges.
• Keep loose articles of clothing and jewelry away from equipment during removal, installation, or operation.
• Personnel installing the Dual Leg Curved Canopy are responsible for ensuring it operates according to this manual.
• Always remove ladders, tools, and parts from the wash tunnel when finished.
• All personnel must be trained in safe operation, safety regulations, emergency shutdown, and maintenance practices.
• Only trained personnel are permitted to enter the wash tunnel for inspections or maintenance. At least two qualified maintenance personnel must be present for equipment repairs or preventive maintenance.
• IMPORTANT: Call Technical Support to adjust the wash cycle when new equipment is installed.
• WARNING: All hydraulic and electrical systems with torque relief or overload must be checked and set to the minimum amount for proper functionality under normal washing conditions.
• WARNING: Possible wet floors and slippery conditions! Proceed with caution to avoid accidents.
• WARNING: Do not enter the wash tunnel when equipment is operating.
• WARNING: Ensure proper Chemistry (Brush Lubrication) is used to prevent vehicle and equipment damage.
• WARNING: Incorrect installation dimensions can lead to equipment damage and/or failure. Verify dimensions if equipment is already installed. Contact Sonny's Technical Support Team at 1-800-327-8723 for installation questions.
• WARNING: All connections and repairs must only be performed by Licensed Professionals, complying with all applicable local and national codes.
• WARNING: Verification of site-specific conditions and compliance with federal, state, and local building codes is the customer's responsibility.
• WARNING: Do not attempt to repair or adjust any pressurized liquid or pneumatic part while equipment is in operation.
• WARNING: Do not operate equipment with safety covers removed or improperly installed. Do not operate equipment suspected of being defective or malfunctioning.
• WARNING: Store cleaning solutions and oils in a well-ventilated area. Clean up spills immediately. Follow SDS Sheets for safety procedures.
• WARNING: When equipment must be in operation during inspection or maintenance, one qualified technician must monitor the power disconnect switch.
• WARNING: All equipment must receive regular maintenance to prevent damage and/or failure that will void the warranty.
• WARNING: Emergency "STOP" Buttons must be well-marked. Their location and use should be reviewed with all personnel. Activated "STOP" buttons must be reset only by the person who activated them. Clear the wash tunnel of all personnel, ladders, hoses, tools, and other items before restarting. An audible device must sound to warn people that the equipment is starting.

Safety First

Ladder Safety:

• Use ladders only for their intended purpose.
• Do not exceed the maximum weight limit.
• Personnel must not carry objects that could cause loss of balance.
• Personnel must face the ladder when climbing and descending.
• Ensure ladders are leveled and do not use damaged ladders.
• Only use single rail or wooden ladders if they meet safety standards.
• Maximum step height: Do not use the cap or top step.
• Maximum reach height is indicated.
• Cable trays installed in tunnels or back rooms should be at 11'-6" to the top of the cable tray.
• Passing through an opening requires 30" clearance. If a Deflection Guidance Device is installed, the opening can be reduced to 24".
• Ladders with unprotected sides require verification of guardrails, safety nets, or a personal arrest system.
• Options include: Fixed Ladder With Roof Hatch, Fixed Ladder With Platform and Enclosed Cage.

Qualified Technician: Ensure installation is performed by a qualified technician.

Tunnel Install: Follow proper procedures for tunnel installation.

Prevent Injuries: Always prioritize safety to prevent injuries.

Canopy Install: Follow specific instructions for canopy installation.

WARNING: All connections and repairs must only be performed by Licensed Professionals, complying with all applicable local and national codes.

Electric - The Customer's Electrician is responsible for:

• Installation of the optional 6' Bendable Boom Light with Cable.

Technical Disclaimer: Building codes have been considered, but verification of site-specific conditions and compliance with federal, state, and local building codes is the customer's, architect's, and engineer's responsibility.

The optional 6' Bendable Boom Light with Cable can be installed.

WARNING: Make sure to follow Local and State Safety Wear Required Regulations to ensure the safety of all personnel. Failure to follow Safety Regulations may result in personal injury, death, and/or dismemberment.

• 1 Each Curved Canopy Foot Cover Bolt Kit (6 Bolts per Kit) (Hardware Kit #: 10013877)

• 1 Each G & G 6' Bendable Boom Light with Cable (Optional) (Part Number: 40012840)
• 1 Each Mr. Foamer 58" Wide Clearance Bar (Optional) (Part Number: 20017069)
• 1 Each Non-Lit Sign (Optional) (Part Number: 20019251)
• 12 Hex Nuts per Leg 3/4"-10 SS (Part Number: 10004669)
• 8 Flat Washers per Leg 3/4" SS (Part Number: 10011104)
• 4 L-Hook Anchors per Leg (Part Number: 10013883)

Installation Dimensions

For L-Hook Anchor Installation Use:

• 3/4"-10 x 14" Grade 5 Galvanized L-Hook
• Dimensions are provided for reference. Ensure accurate measurements during installation.
• 8 L-Hook Anchors, 16 Flat Washers, 24 Nuts are required per foot post.

IMPORTANT: If Equipment Installation Dimensions are not measured correctly, it may result in equipment damage and/or failure.

Diagrams illustrate overall dimensions:

• Overall Length: 110 7/16"
• Overall Height: 94 1/2"
• Width: 72"
• Leg Spacing (Center-to-Center): 48"
• Overall Depth: 103 3/16"

Installation Instructions

WARNING: No climbing or standing on top of the Dual Leg Curved Canopy.

Work Force: 2 Experienced and Trained Technicians

Installation Time: 2 Hours Without Setbacks

1. Apply Anti-Seize to all L-Hooks.
2. Install 3/4" Nuts and 3/4" Flat Washers onto L-Hook Anchors.
3. Make sure legs are level and square with a center-to-center distance of 48".
4. Install Legs onto L-Hooks Anchors in Concrete with the high end facing the desired shaded area.
5. Install 3/4" Flat Washers and two 3/4" Nuts onto L-Hook Anchors. Level, square, and hand-tighten bolts. Allow movement in slots during canopy install.
6. Make sure canopy is strapped to forklift, then lower canopy onto foundation legs.
7. Hold canopy in place with forklift.
8. Apply Anti-Seize to all bolts.
9. Hold the canopy in place with a forklift and use 2 ladders to install bolt assemblies on both sides. Tighten and torque to secure the canopy to both legs.
10. Make sure the canopy is leveled.
11. Torque all L-Hook Nuts until tight. Place foot covers over the base and insert sidewalk bolts.
12. Use a screwdriver to tighten sidewalk bolts into all foot covers.
13. (Optional) Insert S-Hooks into chains and loops on the clearance bar.
14. Install bolts into the canopy, install S-Hooks & Chains.
15. Measure distance from the ground to the clearance bar and cut chains to place the clearance bar at the required clearance height.

DANGER: If applicable, always shut off all power to conveyor and tunnel equipment before starting any install or repairs.

Maintenance

IMPORTANT: For the first month of operation, check all hardware and fittings for tightness each week!

WARNING: Make sure the proper Chemistry (Brush Lubrication) is being used in the Car Wash Tunnel to prevent vehicle and equipment damage.

Daily Maintenance:

1. Inspect signage and equipment.
2. Do not use a pressure cleaner when cleaning the signs.
3. Remove and repair, or replace, any signage that is broken.
4. Check for proper operation.

Weekly Maintenance:

1. Inspect all hardware for tightness.
2. Clean signage as needed with water, mild soap, and a soft cloth.

SONNY'S ENTERPRISES, LLC FACTORY LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY

Equipment manufactured by Sonny's Enterprises, LLC is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Welded metal framework and other non-moving, non-wearable fabricated metal components are warranted for the life of the equipment to the original purchaser. Fabricated metal wearable surfaces and moving components are warranted for one (1) year or 80,000 car washes, whichever occurs first. All components assembled to Sonny's equipment manufactured by others are also warranted by Sonny's for one (1) year.

Exclusions from the 1-year warranty include: Brushes, tire brush & tire shiners, cloth materials (including neoglide, microclean, standard cloth, drying material, and Ecofi), chains, rollers, and all wear items. Other restrictions may apply. New cloth is warranted for one (1) year or 80,000 car washes. Microclean is warranted for one (1) year or 60,000 car washes.

Wear items include shocks, cylinders, bearings, material, brushes, and any item requiring regular greasing. Lack of required maintenance will result in warranty denial. Wear items will be covered in the event of failure upon startup.

Blower motors not installed utilizing split bolt connectors are not warrantied. Labor and transportation charges are not included.

This warranty is not assignable or transferable. The warranty period begins the first day following installation or 30 days from the original invoice date, whichever occurs first. The Seller's liability is limited to repair or replacement of defective materials. Purchaser must supply written notice of any defects. The Seller may require the return of defective material.

This warranty is based on the Purchaser's reasonable care and maintenance. It does not apply to equipment subject to misuse, neglect, accident, or exposure to harsh chemicals (e.g., acetic acid, hydrofluoric acid, oxidizing agents, peroxides, aluminum). It also does not apply to equipment installed, repaired, or altered by unauthorized personnel or if not installed with proper accuracy of specified requirements. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or routine maintenance.

Sonny's shall not be liable for damages of any kind in connection with the purchase, maintenance, or use of this equipment, including loss of profits and consequential damages. This limited warranty is in lieu of all other warranties expressed or implied.
