Important Safety Instructions

CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. DO NOT OPEN.

Please read these safety instructions and respect the following warnings before the appliance is operated:

  • This TV, weighing over 20 kg, must be lifted and carried by at least two people.
  • Be careful! This TV contains no user-repairable parts. Contact the producer or authorized service for faults. Contact with internal parts may endanger your life. Guarantee is void for faults caused by non-professional repairs.
  • Do not remove the rear part of the appliance.
  • In order to prevent fire spread, always keep candles and other open flames away from this product. ?
  • This appliance is designed for receiving and reproduction of video and sound signals only. Any other use is strictly forbidden.
  • The ideal viewing distance is approximately five times the screen's diagonal. Light striking the screen from other sources can cause reflections and worsen picture quality.
  • Ensure sufficient ventilation and appropriate distance from other furniture.
  • The TV set is designed exclusively for operation in a dry place. If used outdoors, ensure protection against moisture (rain, splashing water). Never expose the appliance to moisture.
  • Do not place water containers (e.g., vases) on the appliance, as they might get pushed over, endangering electric safety. Place the appliance exclusively on flat and stable surfaces. Do not place objects like newspapers or blankets on or under the appliance.
  • Ensure the appliance does not stand on power cables, as they might get damaged. Mobile phones, WLAN adapters, and monitoring cameras with wireless signal transmission may cause electromagnetic interference and should not be placed near the appliance.
  • Do not place the appliance near heating elements or in direct sunshine, as this negatively affects cooling. Heat storage is dangerous and can reduce the appliance's lifetime. For safety, ask a qualified person to remove dirt.
  • Prevent damage to the mains cable or adapter. Use only the supplied cable/adapter.
  • Storms are dangerous for all electric appliances. If mains or aerial wiring is struck by lightning, the appliance may be damaged even if turned off. Disconnect all cables and connectors before a storm.
  • Clean the screen only with a damp, soft cloth and clean water. Never use detergents or solvents.

Warning:

  • Never connect external devices to a live appliance. Switch off both the TV and the devices being connected. Plug the appliance into the wall outlet only after connecting external devices and the aerial.
  • The product construction corresponds to protection class 1. Use only a properly installed wall outlet with a ground wire (230 V~/50 Hz) for power.
  • Always ensure free access to the appliance's main switch and mains plug.
  • The appliance is not designed for use in a workplace fitted with monitors.
  • Systematic use of headphones at high volume may lead to irreversible hearing damage.
  • Ensure environmentally friendly disposal of this appliance and its components, including batteries. Contact your local authority for recycling details if unsure.
  • When installing, be aware that furniture surfaces treated with varnishes, plastics, etc., or polished surfaces, may react with the appliance stand's base material, causing difficult-to-remove marks.
  • The TV screen meets high quality requirements and has been checked for faulty pixels. Due to manufacturing processes, a small number of faulty pixels may exist, which are not considered faults under guarantee conditions if their extent is within DIN norm boundaries.

Important Information Regarding Use of Video Games, Computers, Captions, and Other Fixed Image Displays

Extended use of fixed image program material can cause a permanent "shadow image" (sometimes called "burnout") on the LCD screen, which is partly irreversible. Avoid this damage by following these instructions:

  • Reduce brightness/contrast settings to a minimum viewing level.
  • Do not display fixed images for extended periods. Avoid displaying:
    • Teletext time and charts
    • TV/DVD menus (e.g., DVD contents)
    • The "Pause" mode (hold) for extended periods, e.g., while watching a DVD or video.
    • Turn off the appliance when not in use.

Batteries

  • Observe correct polarity when inserting batteries.
  • Do not expose batteries to high temperatures or locations where temperature might increase quickly (e.g., near fire or direct sunshine).
  • Do not expose batteries to excessive radiant heat, do not throw them into fire, do not disassemble them, and do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries, as they could leak or explode.
  • Never mix different battery types or mix new and old ones.
  • Dispose of batteries in an environmentally friendly way. Most EU countries regulate battery disposal by law.

Product Disposal

Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Separate disposal facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.

3D Safety Information

Watching 3D imaging too closely or for extended periods may harm your eyesight.

  • Watching 3D TV or playing 3D video games with 3D glasses for extended periods can cause drowsiness, headaches, or eye fatigue. If you experience a headache or fatigue, stop watching and rest.
  • Pregnant women, seniors, persons with heart problems, or those who experience frequent drowsiness should refrain from watching 3D TV.
  • Some 3D imaging may cause you to duck or dodge the displayed image. Avoid watching 3D TV near fragile or easily knocked-over objects.
  • Prevent children under 5 from watching 3D TV, as it may affect their vision development.

Warning for Photosensitization Seizure:

Some viewers may experience seizures or epilepsy when exposed to flashing lights or images in TV or video games. If you or anyone in your family has a history of epilepsy or seizures, consult a doctor before watching 3D TV. Symptoms can also occur without prior history. If you experience any of the following, immediately stop watching 3D imaging and consult a doctor: dizziness, lightheadedness, visual transition or altered vision, visual or facial instability (e.g., eye or muscle twitching), unconscious action, convulsion, loss of consciousness, confusion, disorientation, loss of directional sense, cramps, or nausea. Parents should monitor children and teenagers for these symptoms, as they may be more sensitive.

Risk of photosensitization seizure can be reduced by:

  • Taking frequent breaks from watching 3D TV.
  • For individuals with vision differences between eyes, watch TV after taking vision correction measures.
  • Watch TV with your eyes level with the 3D screen and avoid sitting too close.
  • Do not watch 3D imaging when tired or sick, and avoid prolonged viewing.
  • Do not wear 3D glasses for purposes other than viewing 3D imaging on a 3D TV.
  • Some viewers may feel disoriented after watching 3D TV. Take a moment to regain awareness of your situation before moving.
