Globe Electric 65925 Plug-In or Hardwire Wall Sconce
Thank you for choosing Globe Electric for your home lighting needs. This product is designed to provide years of enjoyment with proper care and installation.
Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure safe and proper operation.
Safety First
Most electrical accidents are caused by carelessness or ignorance. Combine basic knowledge of electricity, a healthy respect for it, and common sense for safe household electrical repairs.
- Before working on a circuit, turn off the main power or the specific circuit breaker. Tape a warning sign to the panel.
- Always use a voltage tester to ensure wires are not live before touching them.
- When replacing fuses, turn off the main power first. Ensure hands and feet are dry.
- Use tools with insulated handles and ladders made of wood or fiberglass.
- To protect children, place safety covers over unused outlets.
- When unplugging, pull the plug, not the power cord.
- Improperly used extension cords are a fire hazard and are for temporary use only.
- Keep dry-chemical fire extinguishers accessible.
- Never disable grounding devices. Ensure all appliances and the electrical system are properly grounded.
- Meet or exceed all electrical code requirements.
- Work with adequate lighting.
- When in doubt about electrical safety, call a professional.
Important Safety Instructions: This portable lamp has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other) as a safety feature. It will only fit in a polarized outlet one way. If it does not fit, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not alter the plug.
Consult a qualified electrician to ensure correct branch circuit conductor.

Plug-In Installation
Step 1: Mounting the Canopy
Place the back plate on the wall and mark the location for the anchors. Use a drill to make the holes, then insert the anchors. Secure the back plate to the wall using the mounting wall screws. Attach the fixture to the back plate with the canopy screws.
Step 2: Adjust Cord Length (Optional)
The cord length between the plug and the canopy should be at least 6ft (182.8cm). Slide the plug cap off the cord plug. Cut the cord to the desired length. Re-attach the cord to the plug by inserting it and pressing down firmly. Ensure the ribbed side (A) of the wire is pressed firmly onto the pin of the wider blade (B). Secure the cord by sliding the plug cap back onto the plug.
Hardwire Installation
Step 1: Remove the Cord
Unscrew the canopy screws to remove the back plate. Carefully disconnect the black and white wires from the cord, ensuring the switch wire remains connected. Slide the cord out through the hole and remove it.
Step 2: Install Mounting Bracket
Install the mounting bracket to the inside of the canopy, securing it with the canopy screws.
Step 3: Connecting the Wires
The cord length between the wire connectors and the canopy should be at least 6 inches (152.4mm). If necessary, strip about 0.6 inches (1.5 cm) of plastic coating from the white and black wires to expose the metal wire. Wrap the ground wire from the outlet box around the ground screw on the mounting crossbar. Use a wire connector to connect the fixture's ground wire to the outlet box's ground wire. Use a wire connector to connect the fixture's white wire to the outlet box's white (neutral) wire. Use a wire connector to connect the fixture's black wire to the outlet box's black (live) wire. Wrap the three wire connections with electrical tape for a more secure connection. Position the wires back inside the outlet box.
Step 4: Attaching the Canopy
Position the canopy over the junction box and secure it with the outlet box screws.
Step 5: Attaching the Nut
Use the nut to insert into the original outlet hole in the canopy.
Bulb Requirements
This fixture requires 2 candelabra (E12) base bulbs, with a maximum wattage of 60 watts each. Bulbs are sold separately.
