Quick Start Guide & Assembly Instructions

What's in the Box

The following items are included:

  • 1. Platter Matt
  • 2. Platter
  • 3. Headshell and Cartridge
  • 4. 2x Dust Cover Hinges
  • 5. Single Adaptor (for 45 RPM records)
  • 6. Counterweight
  • 7. Interconnect Cable
  • 8. Belt (pre-fitted to platter)
  • 9. Power Supply (plug type varies by region)

Assembly

  1. Fit the platter

    Place the platter onto the central spindle of the turntable base.

  2. Fit the belt

    Loop the drive belt around the motor pulley and then around the inner rim of the platter.

  3. Fit the platter matt

    Place the platter matt on top of the platter.

  4. Fit the Headshell

    Attach the headshell, which contains the cartridge, to the tonearm.

  5. Fit the Counterweight

    Screw the counterweight onto the rear end of the tonearm.

  6. Fit the dust cover

    Insert the hinges into the rear of the turntable base and then attach the dust cover to the hinges.

Balance the Tonearm

Follow these steps carefully to balance the tonearm:

  1. Remove the stylus cover. Be cautious around the needle.
  2. Ensure the Anti-Skate dial is set to 0.
  3. Unclip the tonearm from its rest.
  4. Ensure the arm lift lever is in the down position.
  5. Rotate the counterweight until the tonearm floats horizontally. It should not drift upwards or downwards.
  6. With the tonearm floating, set the counterweight dial to 0 at the top. Be careful not to move the counterweight itself.
  7. With the dial at 0, rotate the counterweight one full turn anti-clockwise (moving the weight closer to the cartridge).
  8. Set the Anti-Skate dial to 3.

Connections on the Rear Panel

  • 1. Analog Outputs: RCA connectors for connecting to an amplifier or active speakers.
  • 2. Pre-amp Off/On Switch: Turn off when connecting to an amplifier's dedicated Phono input.
  • 3. Bluetooth Button: Used for pairing and managing Bluetooth connections.
  • 4. Auto Start/Stop Button: Enables or disables the automatic start and stop function of the platter.
  • 5. Power Inlet: Connect the power supply here.
  • 6. Power Switch: Main power on/off.

Bluetooth Pairing

The JBL Spinner BT supports Bluetooth 5.3 with A2DP 1.4 and AVRCP 1.6.2 profiles, operating in the 2.4~2.4835 GHz frequency range with a maximum transmitting power of < 2.0 dBm (EIRP).

LED Indicator Status:

  • Pairing Mode: Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds. The LED will flash blue.
  • Connected: The LED will be solid blue.
  • Reconnect: Tap the Bluetooth button. The LED will flash blue while connecting.
  • Clear Pairing Record: Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 10 seconds.

Playing Records

  1. Remove the stylus cover.
  2. Place your record on the platter. Avoid touching the playing surface.
  3. Unclip the tonearm from its rest.
  4. Raise the arm lift lever.
  5. Move the tonearm so the cartridge is positioned over the start of the record.
  6. Start the platter. Select 33 RPM for LPs or 45 RPM for EPs and singles as required.
  7. Lower the arm lift lever. The tonearm will gently lower onto the record.

Warnings and Cautions:

  • Headphones: Do not use headphones at high volume for extended periods to avoid hearing damage. Use headphones at a comfortable, moderate volume. Turn the volume down before placing headphones on, then gradually increase to a comfortable level.
  • Products with Batteries: To remove batteries, reverse the insertion procedure. For built-in batteries, recycling centers handle dismantling. Battery replacement must be done by authorized service centers. Do not dispose of batteries with household trash; dispose of them in an environmentally sound manner.
  • Battery Replacement Warning: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Do not disassemble, crush, puncture, short external contacts, expose to high temperatures (above 60°C/140°F), sunlight, extreme low air pressure, or dispose of in fire or water.
