SIPROTEC 7KE85 Fault Recorder
Description
The SIPROTEC 7KE85 is a powerful fault recorder featuring integrated measurement of synchrophasors (PMU) compliant with IEEE C37.118 and power-quality measurement according to IEC 61000-4-30. Its flexible trigger functions make it ideal for monitoring the entire energy value chain, from generation to distribution. High-performance automation and flexible configuration with DIGSI 5 enhance its functionality.
Main Function
Fault Recorder
Hardware and I/O Capabilities
Offers 4 predefined standard variants with up to 40 analog channels, 43 binary inputs, and 33 binary outputs. The I/O quantity structure is flexibly adjustable and expandable within the modular SIPROTEC 5 system.
Housing is available in 1/3 to 1/1 x 19" sizes.
Applications
The fault recorder is designed for use in medium-voltage, high-voltage, and very high-voltage systems, as well as power plants. It provides comprehensive trigger and recording functions for clear, event-related evaluation and documentation of power system processes. This enables targeted analysis of failures and optimization of power systems.
Typical Monitored Processes:
- System incidents, such as critical load cases or short circuits
- Failures of the supply quality
- Dynamic behavior of generators
- Closing and breaking operations of transformers (saturation response)
- Power fluctuations and power-swing cycles
- Test runs during commissioning
Device Representation:
The SIPROTEC 7KE85 device can be equipped with expansion modules to enhance its capabilities.
