HP OfficeJet Pro 8030e Series Setup Guide

This guide provides instructions for setting up your HP OfficeJet Pro 8030e series printer.

Step 1: Unpack and Prepare

Open the front door and lift the cartridge access door by the scanner lid. Remove the plastic guard. Remove cartridge packaging, tape, and orange guards.

Step 2: Power On and Language Selection

Plug in the printer to automatically power on. Select your language and country/region from the control panel.

Step 3: Install Ink Cartridges

Open the printer lid. Remove the plastic guard. Remove the ink cartridges from their packaging, ensuring all tape and orange guards are removed. Insert each cartridge securely into the indicated slot. Close both doors. Ensure you use the cartridges provided with the printer for setup.

Step 4: Load Paper

Open the paper tray, remove any cardboard, and slide out the paper guides. Load Letter or A4 paper, then adjust the guides. Close the tray. Pull open the output tray extender.

Step 5: Print and Scan Alignment Page

Use the printer's control panel to print and scan the alignment page. This step is crucial for optimal print quality.

Step 6: Install HP Smart Software

Install the required HP Smart software from 123.hp.com or your mobile device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) on a computer or mobile device.

Step 7: Connect to Network and Activate HP+

Follow the instructions within the HP Smart application to connect the printer to your network and activate HP+ features. If connecting via Wi-Fi, ensure your computer or mobile device is near the printer during the setup process. Refer to the Reference Guide for Wi-Fi troubleshooting and tips.
