1 Safety Instructions

1.1 General Safety Warnings

Read this user manual carefully. Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction. Do not use mechanical devices to accelerate defrosting. Do not use electrical appliances inside food storage compartments unless recommended by the manufacturer. Do not damage the refrigerant circuit. Ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged when positioning. Do not use multiple portable socket-outlets or power supplies at the rear. The appliance must be fixed securely to prevent instability.

If your appliance uses R600a refrigerant, handle with care during transportation and installation to prevent damage to cooler elements, as R600a is an environmentally friendly but explosive gas. In case of a leak, move the appliance away from open flames or heat sources and ventilate the room.

Do not damage the cooler gas circuit when carrying or positioning the fridge. Do not store explosive substances like aerosol cans. This appliance is for household and domestic use only. If the socket does not match the plug, it must be replaced by a qualified person. The appliance is fitted with a 13A fused plug and requires a specially grounded 13-ampere socket. If unavailable, have one installed by an authorised electrician.

Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced capabilities, can use the appliance under supervision and if they understand the hazards. Children must not play with the appliance, and cleaning/maintenance should not be done by children without supervision. Children aged 3-8 can load/unload appliances. Very young children (0-3) are not expected to use appliances. Young children (3-8) require continuous supervision for safe use. Older children (8-14) and vulnerable people can use appliances safely with appropriate supervision.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorised service agent or similar qualified person.

To avoid food contamination, do not open the door for long periods. Clean surfaces that come into contact with food regularly. Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers to prevent contact or dripping onto other food. If the appliance is left empty, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mold.

1.2 Installation Warnings

Before first use, note the operating voltage (220-240V at 50Hz) and ensure the plug is accessible after installation. An initial odour is normal and will fade. Before connecting, verify the data plate matches the mains supply. Use a properly installed fused socket with an efficient ground connection. Ungrounded usage is not accepted. Place the appliance away from direct sunlight and never outdoors or exposed to rain. Maintain at least 50 cm clearance from stoves/gas ovens/heaters and 5 cm from electrical ovens. Allow 2 cm clearance if placed next to a deep freezer to prevent humidity.

Do not cover the appliance body or top with lace, as this affects performance. Ensure at least 150 mm clearance at the top; do not place items on top. Do not place heavy items on the appliance. Clean the appliance thoroughly before use, wiping parts with a solution of warm water and sodium bicarbonate, then rinsing and drying. Use adjustable front legs to ensure the appliance is level and stable before loading food.

Install the two plastic distance guides at the rear (90° turn) to prevent the condenser from touching the wall. The distance between the appliance and the back wall should be a maximum of 75 mm.

1.3 Electrical Information (UK Plug)

[Warning] This appliance must be earthed. The mains lead has a specially earthed plug. [Important] Do not use without the fuse cover. Replace fuse with a 13A fuse, ASTA approved to BS1362. Use a 13-ampere earthed socket. If unavailable, have one installed by an authorised electrician.

Fuse Replacement: Remove fuse cover and fuse, fit a 13A fuse (ASTA approved to BS1362), and replace the cover.

1.4 During Usage

Do not connect to the mains using an extension lead. Do not use damaged plugs or cords. Do not pull, bend, or damage the cord. Do not use plug adapters. The appliance is for adults; do not let children play with it or hang off the door. Never touch the power cord/plug with wet hands. Do not place glass bottles or cans in the ice-making compartment as they may burst. Do not store explosive or flammable materials. Store drinks with high alcohol content vertically with tightly closed tops. Do not touch ice with wet hands; it may cause frost burns or cuts. Do not eat ice-cream or ice cubes immediately after removal from the ice-making compartment.

Do not refreeze thawed frozen food, as this can cause food poisoning. Old fridges with locks should have locks broken or removed before disposal to prevent children getting trapped. Old fridges contain CFCs; dispose of them responsibly. The CE Declaration of Conformity confirms compliance with European Directives. The product symbol indicates it must not be treated as household waste; recycle it at an applicable collection point.

Packaging materials are environmentally friendly and recyclable, reducing raw material consumption.

2 Description of the Appliance

This appliance is not intended for built-in use. The document includes a diagram identifying parts of the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Key parts include refrigerator shelves, crisper, freezer drawers, ice cube tray, plastic ice scraper, bottle shelf, egg holder, and door shelves. Some parts may vary by model.

2.1 Dimensions

The document provides overall dimensions (H1: 1660mm, W1: 540mm, D1: 595mm) and space required in use (H2: 1810mm, W2: 640mm, D2: 635mm), including overall space required (W3: 640.0mm, D3: 1137.9mm).

3 Using the Appliance

3.1 Thermostat Setting

The thermostat regulates temperatures. Cooler temperatures are achieved by rotating the knob to higher numbers (1-5). Do not rotate beyond position 1, as it will stop the appliance. For short-term storage, use positions up to 3. For long-term storage, use positions 3 or 4. For freezing fresh food, use position 5.

Diagrams illustrate thermostat knob positions when lighting and thermostat are on the side or top.

3.2 Temperature Settings Warnings

Ambient temperature, food temperature, and door opening frequency affect refrigerator compartment temperature. Adjust settings as needed. Operating the fridge below 10°C is not recommended for efficiency. Consider door openings, food load, and environment when setting the thermostat. Allow 24 hours for the appliance to reach operating temperature upon first use; avoid opening the door or loading excessive food during this period. Unplug during power cuts to prevent compressor damage. Wait 5-10 minutes after power restoration before plugging in.

The appliance is designed for specified ambient temperature ranges (e.g., T: 16-43°C, ST: 16-38°C, N: 16-32°C, SN: 10-32°C). Operating outside these ranges reduces cooling efficiency.

3.3 Accessories

3.3.1 Ice Tray (In some models)

Fill the ice tray with water and place it in the freezer compartment. Twist the tray to remove frozen ice cubes.

3.3.2 The Plastic Scraper (In some models)

Use the provided plastic scraper to remove frost build-up in the freezer. Do not use sharp metal objects, as they can puncture the refrigerator circuit.

4 Food Storage

4.1 Refrigerator Compartment

Store liquids in sealed containers to reduce humidity and frost. Never place warm food inside; allow it to cool first and ensure adequate air circulation. Avoid contact with the rear wall to prevent frost build-up. Do not open the door frequently. Meat and clean fish are best stored loosely wrapped on the glass shelf above the vegetable bin. Store loose fruit and vegetables in the crisper containers. Separate fruit and vegetables to prevent ethylene-sensitive items from being affected by ethylene-releasing fruits. Do not store wet vegetables. Storage time depends on food quality and refrigeration continuity. Avoid cross-contamination by storing meat products separately from fruits and vegetables. Clean any leakages on shelves. Do not place food in front of the air flow passage. Consume packaged foods by their expiry date. Potatoes, onions, and garlic should not be stored in the refrigerator.

For normal operation, set the refrigerator temperature to +4°C. The ideal fridge compartment temperature is 0-8°C. Do not place hot food directly into the refrigerator. Meat, fish, etc., should be stored in the chiller compartment, and vegetables in the vegetable compartment. Store food in closed or covered containers to prevent moisture and odors.

A table provides guidance on maximum storage times and locations for various food types (vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, cheese, butter, milk, eggs, cooked food).

4.2 Freezer Compartment

The freezer is for storing frozen food, freezing fresh food, and making ice cubes. For freezing fresh food, wrap and seal it airtight. Divide food into single-serving portions before freezing. Consume thawed frozen food quickly. Never place warm food in the freezer. Follow food packaging instructions for storage times; if none provided, store for no more than 3 months from purchase. Do not buy frozen food with damaged or humid packaging. The storage life of frozen food depends on various factors; always follow packaging instructions.

The maximum fresh food freezing capacity per 24 hours is indicated on the appliance label. Use glass shelves for upper/middle sections and the lower basket for the bottom section for maximum capacity. Use the fast freezing shelf (bottom drawer) for quick freezing.

Note: The freezer door may be difficult to open immediately after closing; this is normal.

Important Notes: Never refreeze thawed food. Spice taste can change with long storage; add spices after thawing or in small amounts. Suitable oils for freezing include margarine, calf fat, olive oil, and butter; unsuitable oils are peanut oil and pig fat. Freeze liquids in plastic cups and other foods in plastic bags or folios.

A table provides guidance on preparation and maximum storage times for meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, cooked foods, and dairy products, including thawing times.

5 Cleaning and Maintenance

Disconnect the unit from the power supply before cleaning. Do not pour water directly onto the appliance. Do not use abrasive products, detergents, or soaps. Rinse with clean water and dry carefully. Reconnect the plug with dry hands. Ensure no water enters lamp housing or electrical components.

Clean accessories separately with soap and water; do not use a dishwasher. Clean the condenser with a brush at least twice a year to save energy. The power supply must be disconnected during cleaning.

5.1 Defrosting

Refrigerator Compartment: Defrosting is automatic. Water is collected and evaporated. Periodically clean the evaporation tray and water drain hole using the defrost drain plug. You can also clean the drain hole by pouring water down it.

Freezer Defrosting Process: Frost accumulates depending on door opening frequency and moisture. Ensure frost does not affect the door seal. Thin frost can be removed with a brush or plastic scraper. Do not use metal scrapers or mechanical devices. Remove dislodged frost from the cabinet floor. For heavy ice deposits, disconnect the appliance, empty contents into insulated boxes, and defrost quickly. Keep contents wrapped and cool during defrosting. Dry the inside with a sponge or cloth. To accelerate defrosting, place bowls of warm water in the compartment.

After defrosting, examine contents. Thawed food should be eaten within 24 hours or cooked and refrozen. Clean the interior with a solution of warm water and bicarbonate of soda, then dry. Reassemble removable parts. Reconnect the appliance and run on setting '5' for 2-3 hours before reloading.

5.2 Replacing the Light Bulb

[Important Note] Unplug the unit before starting. Follow the steps provided, referencing diagrams, to remove the old bulb (turn counter-clockwise) and install a new one (not exceeding 15W). Implement steps in reverse order. Wait 5 minutes before plugging in.

Replacing LED Lighting: If your appliance has LED lighting, contact customer support as it requires authorised personnel.

6 Shipment and Repositioning

6.1 Transportation and Changing Positioning

Keep original packaging for re-transportation if needed. Fasten the appliance securely with packaging, bands, or cords. Remove or fix all movable parts (shelves, bins) against shocks. Always carry the appliance in an upright position.

6.2 Repositioning the Door

Door opening direction cannot be changed if handles are installed on the front. It is possible on models without handles. Contact an Authorised Service Centre for door reversal.

7 Before Calling After-Sales Service

If the refrigerator is not working properly, check the following:

  • Appliance does not operate: Check power supply, mains connection, thermostat setting (ensure it's not on '•'), and socket integrity (test with another appliance).
  • Appliance performs poorly: Check for overloading, ensure doors are closed properly, check for dust on the condenser, and ensure adequate space around the appliance.
  • Appliance is noisy: Normal operating noises include bubbling sounds from refrigerant flow. Check if the appliance is level, if anything is touching the rear, or if objects inside are vibrating.
  • Noisy operation: Cracking noises can occur during defrosting or temperature changes. Clicking noises indicate thermostat switching. Motor noise indicates compressor operation. Bubbling/splashing noises are due to refrigerant flow. Water flowing noise is normal during defrosting.
  • Water in the lower part: Check if the drain hole is clogged and clean it using the defrost drain plug.

8 Tips for Saving Energy

  1. Install the appliance in a cool, well-ventilated room, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Use an insulating plate if necessary.
  2. Allow warm food and drinks to cool before placing them inside.
  3. Place thawing food in the refrigerator compartment to help cool it, saving energy. Thawing food outside wastes energy.
  4. Cover drinks and liquids to maintain humidity levels and reduce energy consumption.
  5. Avoid opening doors for long periods or too frequently, as this lets warm air in and makes the compressor work harder.
  6. Keep covers of temperature compartments (crisper, chiller) closed.
  7. Ensure the door gasket is clean and pliable. Replace if worn.
  8. Energy consumption is declared without drawers and with a fully loaded freezer.
  9. Do not use the volume between the load limit and the door.

If the appliance is switched off, wait at least 5 minutes before restarting to prevent compressor damage. Water droplets or ice on the rear surface are normal. If not using the fridge for a long period, set the thermostat to '•', defrost, clean, and leave the door open. If problems persist, consult an authorised service centre. This appliance is for domestic use only; commercial use voids the guarantee.
