Air Outlet Guide

MAC-881SG-E

Descriptions

The air outlet guide is an accessory for Mitsubishi Electric outdoor units that redirects airflow. Its primary function is to change the direction of air expelled from the unit, which helps to prevent short cycling. Short cycling occurs when the unit turns on and off frequently, potentially reducing efficiency and operational life.

How to Use / How to Install

1. Preparations

Before installing the air outlet guide, prepare the outdoor unit. This guide provides instructions for two different outdoor unit sizes:

For 800(W) x 550(H) x 285(D) outdoor units:

Diagram Description (Preparation Drilling): This diagram illustrates the front panel of an outdoor unit. It shows four marked locations for drilling screw holes: two upper and two lower, symmetrically placed. The upper holes are approximately 32.2 mm from the side edges and 462 mm apart horizontally. A detail view shows a drill bit with a recommended length of 10 mm and indicates a slight "Difference in level on the front panel (metal sheet)". The instruction specifies drilling the lower holes through the front panel and the base.

For 684(W) x 540(H) x 255(D) outdoor units:

Diagram Description (Preparation Drilling - Second Unit Size): Similar to the previous unit size, this diagram shows the front panel of a different sized outdoor unit. It indicates four Ø4.0 mm drill hole locations. A detail view shows a drill bit with a recommended length of 10 mm and highlights a "Difference in level on the front panel (metal sheet)". The instruction is to drill the lower holes through the front panel and the base.

2. Attaching the air outlet guide

Note: Tighten the screws securely. Loose screws can produce a chattering sound due to vibration.

Diagram Description (Attachment and Airflow Directions): This diagram shows the air outlet guide being attached to the outdoor unit's front grille area using two screws (M5 x 10). It then illustrates the three permissible installation directions for the air outlet guide: "Upwards", "To the left", and "To the right". Each orientation is shown with an arrow indicating the direction of airflow from the outdoor unit. The text explicitly warns against downward installation.
